Using Visual Studio 2008 Professional SP1?

i am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional SP1, i need some help with the syntax error. Below is a full part of the coding appear syntax error. The program stop working at "cmd.ExecuteNonQuery()".

I have spent the past week trying to get my copy of Visual Studio 2010 Professional to work on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit laptop, with no avail.
Every time I try to create a new form using Visual Basic, an error message saying that Microsoft Resource File To COFF Object Conversion Utility has stopped working, and I cannot even run the new form to see if my coding is correct.
I have managed to find that it has something to do with the cvtres.exe file, but after a solid hour of research, I have found numerous others with a similar problem, but no solutions.
I have done registry scans, reinstalled Visual Studio about 3 times and have done many other suggested fixes that have done nothing but waste my time.

I have Visual Studio 2008 Professional and I'm trying to make it so I can click a button to send the application to the System Tray and then click the icon in the System Tray to make the application come back.
Can anyone provide me a method or sample code to do this?

I am running Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Professional on a Windows 7 system.While working on a visual basic exercise in chapter 4 of the Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Step by Step book on the MyMenu program I added a Toolstrip to my form and then I was trying to perform the add OpenFileDialog and ColorDialog controls to the component tray as described at the bottom of page 111 under Using Dialog Box Controls. I could never get the controls to appear in the component tray as instructed in the book.
I added a toolstrip to the form. According to my instructions I should be able to click on the Open file icon on the toolstrip to select it and then click anywhere else on the form. When I do that, the OpenFileDialog should appear on the component tray where I can then select it to enter code. This however does not happen.The only way I was able to get them to appear in the component tray was by opening the Menu program supplied on the DVD under chapter 4, selecting both of the above controls on the component tray, right clicking and then press copy. I then closed the Menu program and opened the MyMenu program that I created and then I was able to paste the two object controls to the component tray.
I went back to the original Menu program to see if I was able to place any other controls on the component tray by following the instructions in the book but was not able to. I also tried the same thing with MyMenu and it also still would not work.I have been unable to find anything that might explain why the component tray does not work as explained. Perhaps there is some setting somewhere that needs changed, but all searches have been unsuccessful.
PS. I have entered this on one of the other MicroSoft forums and although it has gotten multiple views I have not yet received any feedback.I also get the following error: Cannot add component of type 'ToolStripButton' to container of type 'form'.

I don't think I can use my student account visual studio for commercial purposes. However, I can't afford eight hundred dollars for visual studio. I talked to a Microsoft rep and they said that with the visual basic express edition I won't be able to code anything or debug anything.
Does everyone here have visual studio professional or above? I was studying hard on my visual basic so that I could get started doing contract work on my own and hopefully start a software company after I get out of school. Now I don't know what to do. My next thought is to keep working on my C++ so that at least I can develop and deploy apps with free IDE's.

I finally figure out where I could get the imagelibrary.I downloaded the 90 trial version of Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition: [URL] opened the .img file with winRAR, did a search of the img file for *imagelibrary*.I was able to extract the imageLibrary from this without installing the trial version.Not sure where it was supose to extract to so I put it in:C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 9.0Common7VS2005ImageLibraryI can find this folder in the form design and so far, it's working with my version of C# Express.

I have a Visual Basic project and when working and modifying code, the compiler will crash and then a message will say something like "Microsoft visual studio encountered a problem and was shut down." I've tried editing code from the solution and the project. Both produce the error. Usually occurs when adding an "IF...Then..." condition. May work for hours but then crash. Solution will compile and build.

In a while loop, I am writing a progressively increasing integer value (between 0 and 100) to the Value attribute of a ProgressBar control, when it disappears from the window in which it resides. I have verified at the time that it disappears that the Min is 0, Max is 100, and Value is a valid integer in range.

I am very new to Visual Studio Application Development. I'm mostly a DB guy. I used Visual Studio as a Report Designer, not much of an .Net guy though I can understand it. I am now asked to create a .net application and I'm trying to create a "Hello World" starter app. I opened my Visual Studio, click File-New Project and all I see is Business Intelligence Projects and Other Project Types. My step-by-step guide says choose Visual Basic, Windows Forms Application. But I can't see it as an option.

I recently loaded my copy of MS Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, with Visual Basic, on to my new laptop, one with a Windows 7 operating system. I have been working on a game development program for a few days now. And have come to a halt on one part, and thats adding a 3D space in the program. I do not know the code for this, would some one please provide something i could use for adding 3D space in my project? for example, i have a panel set up to be the view port in to the 3D space. * The application should allow users to create as many new forms as they want and each form should behave like a MS Visual Studio WinForm. By saying that it should be a container for drag and drop of controls from the toolbox that I will develop....

I have had to do other things in life but recently I have been able to return to my project of getting a FFT for images using Visual Basic.I found that there are several things that can slow it down and as such I have found ways to greatly speed up the DFT without the further
step of using a Radix2 method. I will try to implement the Mod twiddle/twaddle later.But first I found that I can use just cos terms or just sin terms without having to use both.First I found that I can create all the analysing frequencies and their Cosines angles with the following code.The addition of (PI/4) allows the use of only the cosine terms( or only sine terms).The first part of the code test for the size of the rows of the picture and if not an even multiple of two it resizes the image so that the number of pixels is an even power of two. I dont care if the number of rows in the picture is or is not an even multiple of two at this point.

i'm running Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition (latest service pack ... 9.0.30729.1 SP) on XP Pro SP3 with .Net Framework version 3.5 SP1 I have a rather large project I've imported from Visual Studio 2003 (Standard).The project compiles and runs just fine ... my compiled program itself never crashes.
But while I actually have the code up in the IDE, and simply adding/deleting code the whole IDE will randomly crash (usually without warning) and I loose my changes since last save.If/when I do get some hint of why it crashed, I get a window about illegal whitespace or something.... but that's rare ... usually it just crashes without warning and the whole IDE completely shuts down instantly. just deleting/adding a character is enough to trigger it maybe once every 30 minutes.
This is on a computer that is otherwise very rock solid .... no other program ever crashes, etc.
