Way To Create A Randomizer Where Can Change The Output Of A Number?
Aug 9, 2011
I would like to be able to create a function where I can change the probability of a number being outputtedI am creating (Well have created) a slot machine game but the outputs are completely random and I would like to change the odds. Is this possible and if so could someone show me or direct me in what I should do to create this function.
A friend asked me to make a character string randomizer for a game she plays. I got the code working but now she wants to have the characters seperated every third character with a dash (or a space), but I can't get it to work.
For x As Integer = 1 To 10 strb.Append(chars(Int(Rnd() * UpperBound))) If x Mod 2 = 0 Then
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Microsoft.VisualBasic.Interaction.Beep() System.Diagnostics.Debug.WriteLine(3 + 2) End Sub
Why I don't see in Output window number 5 as output?
I have a change calculator program that has two user inputs and 6 outputs. The user inputs how much money is owed, then how much money is received. IT will then display how much change you need to give back. It should also display the different types of currency that are available to give as change. Here is my code so far.
I'm making a matching game program for a friend. I've made up the randomizer for the pictures in the back, but it only seems to work sometimes. The most common problem I'm having is some picture-boxes not showing up.
I working on ASP.NET application.I need to add Thousands Separators to the number as in output below.Are there any built in VB.NET functions?.Pls share some links.
Have to write a program that would display the Fibonacci series with the condition that the inputted number from the user is also the number of Fibonacci numbers that would be displayed. And 0 is invalid.
i wanted to create a random number generator that iterates through a series of number between an upper and lower bound. say between 1 and 100. Basically I want the number generator to pick the numbers randomly and then display them until all 100 numbers are picked without any duplicates. so thats easy I can code that. But what I don't know is how to show those numbers in the order they are generated on a windows form. So i have basically a variable that I will let be changed 100 times (or however many times I want, I don't want their to be a size constraint just using 100 as an example) and each time the number is generated I want it displayed on screen (in a list or something not sure what. Hopefully some type of scrollable list) and each successive number also to be displayed in same format beneath it so that I can see the list in its entirety. What type of form control do i use for that? I could do messagebox.show for each iteration but then user is required to hit ok after each iteration and that would obviously be a bad idea if user selected a large number to work through. Anyways, code isn't exactly necessary just point me in the right direction, i.e.what control (if any) to use.how to format the change in data?
Write a program that will output the sum of the powers from 1 to the supplied number. For example an input of 4 will produce 288 ( 1 exponent 1 + 2 exponent 2 + 3 exponent 3 + 4 exponent 4 = 288)how can i work with this?
Have a Console Application and wonder if it is possible to change the type to Class Library and comment out statements that reflects "Console.WriteLine" ??? or do I need to start out with a fresh Class Library?
I wan't to play a sound whether its the wav playing from within or a speech voice and to select a different output device other than the default. some programs allow me to output its sound on my other devices such as headsets while PC speaker plays something else.
I know that I can launch activate/Use functions in assemblies that I have created, but can I start subs? and If so could I start Sub Main from an Assemble? What I mean is I want to run the created program in memory from a sub main and I dont know how .
My other question is how can I change the type of output project? So from a console app to a Windows Form app? ( I am no longer talking about using the assembly dynamicly this is more about creating the physical exe as what I want it as.
I know that they are the Compiler options command line but is it the same as the ones that Visual studio use when compiling? (The ones you see in the out put window)
I would like to change the output file path of the Adobe PDF Printer via code. Currently I am setting the destination path using the Adobe PDF preferences which works fine, however if I change the path in my program I have to go back to the Adobe printer and manually set the new path. How can I change the Adobe output file path via code?
I'm a really new programmer, teaching myself VB .net
Basically I need user input text from fields in a panel assembled and some parts formatted ( basically italic) and displayed in text box. Really the same as MS Word dose for citation references, then it displays the input correctly.[code]...
I'm trying to create a program that produces random sentences as output. With five arrays of strings, one each for nouns, adjectives, verbs, prepositions, and articles. Each array should hold several words for that part of speech. It's supposed to generate sentences by randomly choosing eight words (randomly generating eight array indices) from these arrays, always constructing sentences by using the parts of speech in the following order: article, adjective, noun, verb, preposition, article, adjective, noun.Also, theh code should be properly modularized so that the code to generate each part of speech is not repeated.
If I have a large number of classes, each similar to the other in certain aspects (they all share a common base class, but each does things differently), and I need to create Windows forms for each to allow easy changing of their values through a GUI? Create one matching form for each object in VS' forms designer, Or Use code to create the forms dynamically at runtime.
#2 makes the most sense to me, because a lot of these objects will share very common features of the form, notably "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons. But one object might need to draw a textbox on the form while another might need to draw a combobox. Not to mention, if I want to put icons on the "Ok" and "Cancel" buttons, I'd have to do this for each copy of the form in designer, and that sounds like it could get out of hand quickly.But is drawing forms through code sane? VS' forms designer is pretty sophisticated and designed to make life easier. Am I wise to consider ignoring its functionality and diving into the trench warfare of forms design through code? Or are there examples of automating form creation based on an existing object's properties?
I just want to know if the following behavior is by design. I start Visual Studio and open my VB project and rebuild it. The assembly version is set to 1.0.*. I get a version number of 1.0.2839.26817. Now as long as I keep visual studio open every time I rebuild, I get the same build and revision number. I have to close and reopen visual studio to get the revision number to change. Again I just want to know if this is by design since everything I have read says that the revision number is either supposed to be random or the number of seconds since midnight. Is there a way around this?
Under the program properties, tab devices, I am unable to change the value listed. Is there a value elsewhere that controls the editing of this field?Example:Under Projects...Properties...Devices current value is %CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES%estDial I want it to be %CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES%CCClark?
