i have a word template that needs to be used in an application so to make the path simple i placed the template in the debug file and i used application.stertuppath and it worked but when i publish the application it does not work it seems that the template is not included in the application but even when i place it manually in the aplication folder it does not work
I'm creating window application with VB.NET and flatfiles.the problem is how do i store the connection string in the app.config file that include the application.startup path?
I've created an AIO tool in Visual Basic and i need to create some code so when the application is opened it places itself in the computer startup folder. I know i can do it manually but i want to do it on school computers (restricted access).
I'm using this code to make my app. run at startup if a CheckBox is checked
Private Sub CheckBox5_CheckedChanged(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles CheckBox5.CheckedChanged If CheckBox5.Checked = True Then CheckBox6.Checked = False CheckBox6.Enabled = False
I am using vb.net 2003. In my program, the user can use an openfile dialog box to locate the address of a image and use it to change the display. The name and path of the image is saved in a database. This image is then loaded upon startup. If the image is located in the start-up directory the image change and saving to the database works great. But if the image is located some where else the image change occurs, but the path of the database has changed to the location of the image. Since the database is not located there, I get an unhandle exception error. What is the code to redirect the program to my startup path?
Is it possible to get this information from a drag&drop Startup path of a external program that was dragged over my app? The process name of the external program that was dragged over my app? This is what I already got. Private Sub Main_DragDrop(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DragEventArgs) Handles Me.DragDrop
Im trying to get the startup path in a console project I have this
System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly.Location()) but that only includes the folder, i need to add that application to that.
How would i get the applications startup/project name?
I sent the application exe to a user to test and they get an unhandled exception error and the details show my personal My Documents Folder/DEBUG path from the project. So I tried to use Application.ExecutablePath but when I release that it points to "My Documents" Folder (not the debug) folder. The file to open is in the same folder as the exe is in but for some reason the error occurs because the application is not looking for the file using the path where the EXE was launched from. Here is my code that relates to the section giving my users a problem:
from the module Public Class shrd Public Shared ocSess As cSession
[code]....
How can I get the application to open the file that is in the same folder as the exe when the user launches
I have a Access program and I'm using VBA code in the background to run Winunzip using shell command. Well, the path of the .zip file has spaces in it and it's not recongizing the path as a valid path. Is there a another way to tackle this problem besides the shell?I can't us pkzip either. Has you can see I had to use progra~1 instead of Program Files.[code]
I am having a big problem with deleteing a file form the server. I have the filename for a image stored in my SQL database. the problem is i am getting an error of "Illegal characters in path. " Here is the code below:Everything is working fine until the delete command.
Protected Sub DeleteButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Dim tmpEquipID As String = Request("EquipID") Dim tmpImageID As String = (CType(FormView1.FindControl("ImageIDLabel"), Label).Text) Dim d As New equippicsDataContext
how to display picture using the Application.startup path? i want to locate the picture in my bin folder inside my debug folder as i selected the name of the candidate in the combo box.
I am trying to read and display a file using MapPath as follows :
Response.ContentType = "Application/pdf" Dim FilePath As String = MapPath("../Document/123.pdf") Response.WriteFile(FilePath) Response.End()
This procedure will work fine and display in the browser. However, if I save the file to C:Document123.pdf, how can I access this file using relative path in MapPath function. Is there an option to access the file which is saved out of IIS server? I am using vb.net 2003.
I can hide my startup form (or make it appear hidden) on startup. I can start my app on windows startup--through registry values--if the user checks a checkbox.
But if the app starts up on windows startup, I want the form to be hidden, so the program can just keep working without bothering anyone. If it starts up because the user started it, I want the form to be showing, because the user probably wants to change some settings or something.
Looking for an idea of where the best place to keep files for a program. I use them frequently and they interact with the program directly. I want to place them in a place where they won't be easy to find if someone is just cruising thru the directories. Any ideas?
Like I imagine everyone, I often have problems navigating my code because the flow can jump from place to place. For example, if my code calls routine1, and I then want to go to routine1's code, I know that I can click in the dropdown menu and it will take me to that sub. But wouldn't it be easier if I could somehow right click on the call to routine way and select something like 'take me there' which would transport me from the function making the call to the code for the function being called? Then it would be easy to hop from place to place.
I have a insanely large file that has a lot of customer data in XML format. The start of a customer and end are how I'll determine the starting and ending points of the customer data I need to extract. The is the number I'll be searching for. I'll input a regular text file with 12-byte document numbers into the file (Doc Number List.txt), search the massive XML file (example.xml) for those document numbers, find the data before and after the DOC_NUM tags, but within the CUSTOMER tags and extract it to a formated file. The formated file needs to have these tags, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
Reading a .txt file in VB.net. My file path is C:UsersMyLilMulePepeDocumentsVisual Studio 2008Projectscurtain_calls.txt.
This is my line of Dim LoanOptionsFile As String = "C:UsersMyLilMulePepeDocumentsVisual Studio 2008Projectscurtain_calls.txt"
I can read the file when I run the program, but how do I write the file path so that someone else can download my program and file and read the file on their system?
I created a VB.Net Windows Forms application and my Form1 is my startup form. I want to have a class be my startup file instead of my form. In c# you have program.cs which does that for you but I cant seem to find something like that in vb.net.
My application has encountered a problem and needs to close.Of course Microsoft is sorry for the inconvenience, but how am i supposed to debug my app?Which dll fails to load?
The error report contains between others, system.io.fileloadexception
