Wpf - User Makes A Selection In One Of The Comboboxes - Selected Comboboxitem Gets Disabled?

In my program I've got several comboboxes that all have the same comboboxitems and when the user makes a selection in one of the comboboxes the selected comboboxitem gets disabled in the other comboboxes. (i.e. If the user has selected the comboboxitem with value 'a' in combobox #1 and selected the comboboxitem with value 'b' in combobox #2 then in remaining comboboxes both the comboboxitems with values 'a' and 'b' are disabled)

I seem to be having issues with the selected index on a list box.
The list box is having various items inserted depending on the user selection. An example would be:
LiIndex = ListBox1.Items.Count
ListBox1.Items.Insert(LiIndex, "Item1")
LiIndex = ListBox1.Items.Count
ListBox1.Items.Insert(LiIndex, "AND")

This all work and displays without a problem. The issue I have is if I select the second of the two AND's. If I click the second "AND" in the list and then a button to fire a method, the selected index is always the index of the first "AND". Dim listIndex as integer = ListBox1.SelectedIndex
I can't work out why, the listbox itself will always show the second one as selected, but the action will happen against the first one.

I have a relatively simple application that uses a series of combo boxes to ask questions. These combo boxes are bound to a table with 2 columns in it "RSN" and "RSN_ID". I'm using one table adapter to feed the form (and these boxes) once the main form is loaded. The problem I'm having is when I change one of the boxes, they all change to the same value, almost like they have the exact data source (which they do) but shouldn't you be able to make different selections even using the same table adapter? I have to run 20 queries at loadtime, or create 20 table adapters.
My current setup is like this:
Data Source: table that feeds the combobox
Display Member: RSN (from combo box table)
Value Member: RSN_ID(from combo box table)
Selected Value: Form's main binding source, unique to each combo box, where the selection is actually saved.
This works perfect when using one combobox, but as soon as I bound all of them I ran across this...

i am creating a programme for my institute which helps in their administrative process. i am using visual studio(basic) 2010. which is connected with ms access database (abcdata.accdb) the database is having table called session with columns sessionID,sessioncode,sessionname.
* sessionID data = 1,2,3,4
* sessioncode data = 13,14,15,16
* sessionname data = 2013,2014,2015,2016

I have four comboboxes in my Ist form related to course as.c_type,c_stream,c_major,c_nature.......combobox c_type contains the type of courses like degree,diploma, PG etc,similarly "c_stream" contains stream like engg,medical etc. further c_major contains all courses like computer engg(CE),mechnical(ME), physiotherapy etc. and last c_nature has course nature whether regular or private or distance.Now situation is when i select diploma from c_type, corresponding options must be populate in c_stream like engg. And now when i select engg., CE or ME must be there in c_major combobox .Same is for C_nature.The all 4 combobox must show "please select" text on form load event..i also have 2nd form where i have same combobxs. so is there any way to call the same code without again writing that to 2nd form.

Is it possible to replace the selected NumericUpDown controls with ComboBoxes?
I understand that not all properties can be conserved but the only properties I need are the location and the size. The workflow I have in mind is as follows:
Select certain NumericUpDowns Click replace with... and then select ComboBoxes (or any other approach) Where the NumericUpDowns were, there are now ComboBoxes of the same size
The reason I want to do this is that I have to put together a GUI with multiple tabs. Each tab page has a list of Labels with either NumericUpDowns or ControlBoxes next to it. The order of the controls changes per tab. I just want to copy the items on the first tab and paste them on the other tabs. Then per tab I only have to change certain NumericUpDowns into ComboBoxes.

Once again I have hit a brick wall here. I have a combobox in which the user types the server name and then clicks on button 'CONNECT' to populate the next combobox which contains all the databases in that
server. Then after the user selects a database, I have another button that he/she click and I want to retrieve file groups from a specific table. At this point when he/she clicks on that button I get an error: "An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)"

i have an access 2007 database in wich i have a table named abc_PersonalLog, wich also has three columns: Id (auto number), StarDate (text) and LogEntry (Memo). It is a Diary application. So, when the user makes a log entry, the StarDate column receives a string formed of concatenated year, month and day, i.e. if date is 20th march 2012, the string will be 120320, and the Log entry column, the text entered by user in a textbox.My problem is that, somehow, i have to retrieve that data, when the user will want to read log entries he made. I managed to assign the text property of a label to the LogEntry text for a given date.But, if the user makes multiple entries in a single day, the table will have several rows containing the same string in the StarDate field, but different text in the LogEntry fields. How can i display ALL the LogEntry texts for all the rows containing the same StarDate value? Here is my code so far:

I want to choose a value dynamically from comboBox depending of the values selected previously in two comboBoxes.the code that loads the comboBoxes:

The problem is that in the last Sub in the If sentence gives an error of: Null Reference Exception, because the compiler thinks that in that event the data are not loaded, although the data are loaded when loadcomboBoxes sub is executed.

Im trying to make a program that makes a user type in a password, then open a folder where the user can put files. but once they close out of the file browser. the program needs to save the files and remove the directory. for example think of a file cabinet being the program, and the drawer being the temp folder. when the user closes the drawer, it goes back into the cabinet, or in this case the program.

This is a spin-off post from another issue I am working on. The problem is related to triggering event handlers when the user makes an input into a combo box, you might even call this a complaint.I have a combobox with a DataSource and ValueMember and DisplayMember. There is no DataBindings to worry about at this point. The combobox is DropDownStyle = DropDown and I havealso enabled AutoCompleteSource = ListSource and AutoCompleteMode = SuggestAppend.The datasource contains a list of Countires, and when the user types in an entry or chooses an entry from the combobox, I should be able to detect what the user has selected ortyped immediatley after the selection, some would say it's the very purpose of the combo box.Which event would you choose to deterine what the user has entered or Selected? few events come to mind:

I am a beginning programmer and am tying to add a database to my visual basic 2005 express program. I have a nice working window but now a database needs to be attached. Following the add items and selecting the sqldatabase icon (and change the name) I get the following message: "Generating user instances in SQLServer is disabled. Use sp-configure 'user instances enabled' to generate user instances". I am trying for 2 days to find out what to do.
Aparently, all the solutions on the internet are for wizards but not for apprentences. I hope to become a computer wizzard but are far from it now. I scanned my computer for the file sp-configure but it does not exist. I tried sp_configure as a DOS command, checked all VB menu options to find etc. On the internet the language is out of my league and jumps too quickly.

This is what I have so far for the following scenario: I want to have it so that if a users clicks submit without checking a check box from one section it throws up a dialog box that makes the process loop and give them a chance to check a box. The process wont continue until at least one check box is checked. The same thing above goes for my radio buttons as well. Here's my code:

I've created a WPF app using VB 2010. I set the comboboxitems via the XAML. However, I can't seem to figure out how to set the value of each item to a file path.
The objective is for a user to be able to select an item from a drop-down list, then that selection opens an XPS file in the DocumentViewer. The code below was provided to me by COMPETENT_TECH (thanks) to read and display the value of the selected comboboxitem in the DocumentViewer.
The path to the files I want opened is C:folderfile.xps

I have a dgv with a column type = DataGridViewAutoFilterCheckBoxColumn. I want to know if there's a way to I can get that entire column to become disabled (or Enabled = False) so it won't let the user click on the checkboxes. I tried looking in the "Bound Column Properties" but there isn't an option to disable the entire column.

I want to learn how to populate a combobox so if a vlaue is selected in another combobox then it will be invisible for selection. You can NOT use combobox1.items.remove since my box is bound to a datasource.So I either need to create a new query and adapter and bind the combobox2 to that query, or fill combobox2 from combobox1 minus the selected item in combobox1. Either way I need some help writing code correctly.I have tried a few different ways but not succesful, I was probably on the right track a few times but I am still not very proficent in code writing.This is the code I have written so far for my program, I deleted all my attempts at remove selected item since none worked and were just confusing.

I want to disallow changes to two comboboxes unless the user first clicks a LOCK symbol on the screen. I pop a Y or N into the tag of the picture box when they click it...I've got this - combobox is called LanguageTo

I know the question is a little choppy and perhaps misleading,but I have a gridview with dropdownlists on the rows. I created an AddHandler and a Delegate for the SelectedIndexChanged and it gets to the sub. Here is the code for that:

I have a form with 4 comboboxes and a button. The first combobox is enabled, but the rest of the controls are disabled. When the form is opened I fill the first combobox (cbxMethod) with a datatable. When the user selects something in cbxMethod the next combobox (cbxStudy) will be filled and so on. When the last combobox (cbxAnalyte) has a selected value I want to enable the button and give it focus so the user can move forward with the program. I basically want to force the user to move from one combobox to the other, until all are filled.I am currently using the SelectionValueChange event, but this event only fires when the user changes the value with their mouse or hits the Enter key, not when the user hits the Tab key.

I have a combo box that has multiple options, when the user selects one of the options (world wide city destinations) a specific value is assigned to a variable. For example if "New York" is selected the variable "x" is assigned the number 155. What I want to do is output the destination that has been selected ie "New York" in a label called "lblOutput1", do I need to store the destination as a seperate variable to be able to produce it in this label as I cannot seem to get it to work:

I am using visual studio vb 2005 and I searched the forums for an answer to this but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I am using the following code to populate a list box. What I want is to have a datagrid view show the results of a dataset that is generated when a user selects something from the list box.
