User List View Selection

I am using visual studio vb 2005 and I searched the forums for an answer to this but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I am using the following code to populate a list box. What I want is to have a datagrid view show the results of a dataset that is generated when a user selects something from the list box. I know how to generate the dataset, but I'm not sure how to bind that to a datagrid view and I'm not sure what event I should use from the list box.[code]

I am trying to change 2 textboxes so that they show the current list view selection. When I click to change the selection the program crashes. Here is my code:

I seem to be having issues with the selected index on a list box.
The list box is having various items inserted depending on the user selection. An example would be:
LiIndex = ListBox1.Items.Count
ListBox1.Items.Insert(LiIndex, "Item1")
LiIndex = ListBox1.Items.Count
ListBox1.Items.Insert(LiIndex, "AND")

This all work and displays without a problem. The issue I have is if I select the second of the two AND's. If I click the second "AND" in the list and then a button to fire a method, the selected index is always the index of the first "AND". Dim listIndex as integer = ListBox1.SelectedIndex
I can't work out why, the listbox itself will always show the second one as selected, but the action will happen against the first one.

I have a User Control that is an image with a label underneath it, that sources the image file from a folder that contains nothing but images. The label changes to to the name of the image displayed in the control.I have a datagridview that populates itself based off of a table in an access database (The Table is named after a person and contains the names of images that they have created.) so when the user selects the name of the person from a listbox, the datagrid populates itself based off theor selection

I am creating a program that allows a user to view a list of foods in a combo box, add that food unto a list box, and adds all of the calories of that food together. When the user highlights their select food, the program automatically shows the amount of calories for that particular food in a text box. The program is getting the food and calorie information from an access database. I managed to get all of the food calories to add up properly, however, I ran into a problem. Sometimes, well, most of the time, when I select certain foods from the combo box, the program automatically reselects another random food, usually a food that begins with either an A, B, or C. Also, the other random food that the program chooses usually has the same amount of calories as the food I originally wanted to choose. I have over 6,000 items in the database. I don't understand why this is happening. This is what my code looks like for the button that adds each food to the list box:

Basically I am trying to enable the user the ability to select a folder and the folders music files populate a list box. I want two list boxes on the page, one with all the contents of the folder and then the other one for files selected from the first box. I have no clue on how to do this at all...

I have a media browser program I am building. I am trying to use drag/drop so a user can drag media tracks from one listview to another listview and then use the second list view as a playlist in windows media player com object. Reading at MSDN I have found out that there is no built in support for item re-ordering with the listview control. I have listview1 working correctly but when I try to reorder items in listview2, the dragged item ends up at the end of the list. So basically I need to get the item insertion index corrected. I have tried more than 10 times to get this code right.

I am writing a program to search computer in the same network.I just get an result array like

I would like to know how to select multiple records from a gridview, (ie checkboxes in itemtemplate) and process SQL statements on the records. i have two pages.1.aspx and 2.aspx i have a drop down list on the first page and a back and sumbit button on the second page..If i make a selection in the drop down list and go the second page and then go the the first page again with the back button. the drop down list doesnt show the selection that i did.i tried the use "sessions" but didnt work, also tried postback but no luck. ok.. just as it sounds.. I'm kinda making a document portal app for work.. has 4 list boxes going to 4 different drive locations.. for cosmetic reasons I want only the last box you clicked in to show a selected item.. so if you selected box 1 item and it was hilighted and then you went to box 2 and selected something I wanted box 1 to then dissapear.
I have some code written to handle this.. but its not working so well.. since I use the SelectedIndexChanged trigger to fire off another piece of code to unselect all the other windows.. those listboxes fire their triggers also because I have to call lstWord. SelectedIndex = -1 to make it not have something selected anymore.. and when you do that.. it calls its SelectedIndexChanged and ends up deselecting everything.. so wasnt sure if anyone had done something like this before.. seems like something that would have been done before.. but as you can imagine searching the web for "multi list box select only one at a time" or something similar..gives you some strange results..

I have a combo box that has multiple options, when the user selects one of the options (world wide city destinations) a specific value is assigned to a variable. For example if "New York" is selected the variable "x" is assigned the number 155. What I want to do is output the destination that has been selected ie "New York" in a label called "lblOutput1", do I need to store the destination as a seperate variable to be able to produce it in this label as I cannot seem to get it to work:

I know the question is a little choppy and perhaps misleading,but I have a gridview with dropdownlists on the rows. I created an AddHandler and a Delegate for the SelectedIndexChanged and it gets to the sub. Here is the code for that:

Is the ContextMenu control strictly to offer choices when the user right-clicks some object, or can it be used to offer choices in general?
In my situation, when a user opens a certain type of file, I want to offer a selection of specific subfiles (line ranges) within said file as choices. The presence of subfiles and their number is variable, so this would be a dynamic situation. (No subfiles: use the whole file; three subfiles: present three choices ...)Would ContextMenu be appropriate, or should I offer a list box or combo box or frame of radio buttons instead?
