I am trying to write a VB program to automatically detect and identify a particular device that will only communicate to my program when I have 2 or more devices plug into the USB port. One way of doing it that I can think of is to scan through the available port and do a write and read to identified the port. But that would take up a lot of time if I were to scan through say 5 available port.

how to use a webcam to take a photo on a Windows Forms application,Now what I need, is to identify which device I'm using to take the photo, in case I ever happen to have two or more similar devices connected to the machine.Currently our setup involves an Asus EEE PC deployed at our location. The machine has an in-built webcam which we are using in the application as described above.Somewhere within this code below, the default device is being identified and selected for taking the pictures we need.

Now what I need is to find the code that does this identification, and then hardcode the device identity into that code so that if I ever attach another (USB) webcam to the machine in future, it does not inadvertently take a photo from the wrong webcam.

Basically I'd like to be able in code navigate to a folder held on a mobile device like a mobile phone connected to a pc using MS Activesync? Rejecting it would prevent its being loaded by Windows. We have a weigh bridge connected to PC via serial port.A VB code fetches the data from serial port and puts it in clipboard,which can be used by other applications like SAP.
We have several different makes of weigh bridge at different locations, each with separate settings(baud rate,data bit,parity), hence we need to change the VB code each time a new make weigh bridge is installed.

I have a program that outputs a series of items onto a form--an "invoice" if you would like. The problem is, when the user enters in more items than the invoice's size can handle the rest just disappears into the mysterious realm down at the bottom. Is there a way where I can make the label automatically detect items going in and create a vscrollbar or something similar so that it can accommodate it's size?
