Nov 27, 2008Define a structure named product, The structure should contain 2 variables one as a string and the other as a decimal. The decimal is used to store the price and the string is used to store the item number.
Declare a module level array that contains 5 product structure variables
Code the main forms load event procedure so that it reads the item number and prices from the itemInfo.txt file The procedure should store the item numbers and prices in the module level array. It also should add the item numbers to the list box.
When the user selects an item in the list box the items price should appear in the xPriceLabel. code the appropriate procedure.

Apr 6, 2010I'm looking for some code to write /read an array to a text file in vb6.i have an array of a fixed size, and i need to write that into a text file, then later in another program i need to access that text file and write every element to a new array of the same size.the elements will be integer values, but "Long" datatypes. there will be no strings or anything else, just whole numbers.

BitConverter would be great if it worked with Structures, but it doesn't. Basically, I want to read the same memory address either as a byte array or as a structure, or have a function that works like

Nov 30, 2010I have a .txt file i want to read that has states by abbreviation and states by name. In that text file some are territories and some are states.
I want to read from that file and put the abbreviations into one structure array and the states into another structure array.
I then want to lookup up the states by abbreviation or state name. The lookup will simply be selected by a radio button which will flag either the states full name array, or the abbreviation array.

Jul 16, 2010i need to save an array of intptrs as a part of a structure in a file, vb.net gives me "File I/O of a structure with field 'pList' of type 'IntPtr' is not valid." error, ok i figured and tried to convert them to integers and while it worked for other singular intptrs it did not for the array as it just throws me a conversion error. I then tried rebuilding the array in the new sub of the save structure and while that sorta worked(i think) it then gives a "bad size" error when saving. Im out of ideas, saving the array elements one by one would be suicide as the amount varies and is well in hundreds,

Aug 29, 2009I am trying to communicate with an external device and i am trying to send a byte array to the external device via sockets but i am always getting a response the message size is too small so i am not sure what i have done wrong. Between the data type there should be no alignment present and all numbers are represented in little endian format. The char array is not null terminated as mentioned in the protocol specifications.
I have to send data based on a struct that embeds 2 other struct. So here's my vb.net code for the struct used to convert to byte array and the sending part.

Dec 3, 2011I'm close to getting this to work, but currently can't get any output to display in the listbox. I had it working, but needed to move some things around to get the join function to work.In my program, a user enters input into a textbox and an array is displayed in a listbox based on what they type in. For example, if they type in "a", all foods (in the textfile that is connected to the program) that start with "a" will be displayed.
When there is output, I need to find a way to name this array (which is created based on what the user inputs) and join all of the items in the listbox (example: foods stacked on top of each other in the listbox will be shown at the bottom as a string).I am posting the code that I have thus far; all of the errors that I'm getting (and potentially my logic errors) are just in the first public class until the end of the first if-next statement:

Feb 27, 2010i'm trying to read from a file and copy the text into a 2d array withought the selected item from a list box then rewrite the file from the array into the text file. however it writes a single part of the array times the variable count when i write back to the csv file. within the array everything is correct its only when i rewrite to the file is when the problems occur.
