Feb 13, 2010I have an image of the political map of the USA. I want to write separate click events for each of the 50 states in Visual Studio. How would I do that?

Oct 12, 2009I am learning visual basic. I have created a form for a calculator. I have placed buttons for plus, minus, division, multiply etc. The programme is working for clicing on buttons i.e. when I want to add two nos. I accept 1st no. from text box then I click on "PLUS" button then I accept 2nd no. When I click on "Equal" button the result is displaying on textbox. But I want to write code insted of clicking on "PLUS" button if press " + " key on keyboard and for "Equal" button, if I press " Enter " key on keyboard, The result for adding two number should display on textbox. I want code for both click event and keypress event.

Jul 31, 2010I've read thru Iceplug's tutorial on control arrays and got it working. I tried to add a new event by basically copying his click event code and calling it a doubleclick event. I used the proper addhandler and assigned the correct name to my sub. I have the click event changing the background color to blue and the doubleclick event changing the background color to green. The background color does not change to green. Why?

Mar 4, 2012I have 4 items in a ListBox and each item does a specific thing when it gets clicked on.But I also want the double click event to do the same thing as the click event.I can copy and paste all code from click event into double click event, but then you have lots of code crowding the code page doing the same thing. So what to do about this?

Create Custom Database In Windows Application - Double Click Custom Database File?
Jul 21, 2006With VB.net, I'm coding a simple application to get more used to the new .Net format.
I'd like to save all the information to a 'new' database file. how to create a database on the fly, once that is done i'll be able to connect to it no problem, but actually creating the file is proving difficult to work/find out.
Also, with vb.net and the newly created custom file, how can it be made to automatically open that information with the program?
Is there a method in installation to associate the file type with the new program? How can i check when the program loads if a database file has been 'double-clicked' (rather than just running from the .exe of the program) and proceed to load the data?
EDIT1 - Extra InfoThe windows application has many different fields and content etc, then i need to save that to a file that could later be loaded by 'double clicking'. I assumed the easiest way would be to create a mini-database for each unique file

Mar 23, 2009I have a vb.net application that uses Flash movies (AxShockwaveFlashObjects.AxShockwaveFlash). I have buttons in the flash movie. When they first start using the application, they can single click on the buttons in the flash movie and button responds accordingly. But after a while (and I haven't been able to pin-point an exact thing that changes it or my issue would be solved), the user has to double-click on the button in the flash movie for them to work.

Dec 1, 2010I want to create a server control that inherits System.Web.UI.WebControls.Button but gives it special capability, now what do i mean? i want my button to be a confiorm button that will work like so:
Renders to the page as a button of lets say cancel after the user clicks it i want to catch the click event (within the server control) and now after the click makeing the button not visible and makeing some kind of content placeholder (that will render from the server control) visible. that content place holder will have 2 buttons inside of it: yes and cancel. I want the programmer that adds this control to be able to register a function to the click event of the yes button. and the second cancel confirmation button should make the first button appear agian. (i know how to do this all in the client side but this time i need it all as server events)
My question is this: how do i catch the click event? i want it all to be handled inside the server control itself. so a programmer that adds this control wont have to worry about anything but just needs to register to the click event of the "yes" button.

Aug 4, 2009I'm handling the Application.UnhandledException event in a WinForms app and need to log exceptions caught there. My app.config is set up to log exceptions to a FileLog and an EventLog.The problem is that when running as a non-admin user, the EventLog cannot be written to because of a SecurityException - I get the message "The source was not found, but some or all event logs could not be searched."I understand why - the user does not have permission to create the EventLog source, but the question is how should this source be created? As I see it, I could either:
1) Create the EventLog source with my installer, as this is running as admin. How to do this?
2) Create from within my app, by somehow elevating permissions? But this would give the UAC prompt on Vista.

Aug 3, 2009I have a listview set up in Details View and I run a ascending/descending sort routine on the appropriate column when the user clicks one of the column headers.However, when I switch companies and reload the listview with new information, for some reason the event fires and I get an indexoutofrange exception as I believe that the information has not yet loaded when this fires.The e.Column property is set to that of the previous column which I clicked even though I have clicked nothing.

I am also converting and using significant amount of the code from the article which, for the most part, I have been able to successfully convert to VB .NET using Developer Fusion's C# to VB code converter. The dll has a new message handler (NewMessageHandler) which is used in the article's main form (frmMain). There is a C# .NET statement in the SetFtpClient() method of frmMain that I am unable to convert to VB .NET.
