Writting Variable To Text File In Vb?

i have a vb project im getting a bit of trouble with.this is how it should work user input text in the textbox. the input text will be count as single character each one by one after been checked they will be writen to a text file but all in caps if use input symbols, there is a look up table to turn that symbol in charater and then write it to the text file. after all that are writen to the text file another part of the program will copy the text file to another location and delete the original one. so here is my problem because the text file will be deleted i need a code that will create a text file each time the programme runs.

I would like to create a filepath and assign it to a string (so that it can have yet more added to it later on in my program) the code takes (well i want it to but it doesn't) the name of a drive selected previously and then adds this to a string to create a string variable that refers to a file. and then (as usual) i want to use thes files and display them in a combobox but i want to only select files that have a pre selected 2characters at the front. I have an application that gets executed on a windows mobile device using RAPI that outputs the current device type, rom version, and wireless driver version etc.. to a .txt file on the device.My plan is to then pull .txt file over activesync to my pc and then open it up and assign each of those attributes into variables in my application.

I was just playing around with trying to set up a datacontract that returned a class that had a property that took/returned an enum value. I could set the class up so that it worked great, but the service contract seen by the client had the enum turned into a string, of all things. Had it been turned into an Integer, that would have been useable, but not a string

I am binding a textbox's text value setting to my a variable in my configuration file. I only consider the input from this textbox to be valid if it's an integer number bigger than 1. Right now what I was doing is letting the user write whatever he wanted in the box, and I'd only let him save the settings after calling a validation function. The problem seems to be that my binding variable in the Settings class seems to be being updated as soon as the textbox is being edited, and that's a behaviour i'd like to skip. How can I do this?

Currently, I've encountered a problem where I do not how I can store the variable of my battery level in a text file. I tried .xml and .txt file and it returns me text which can't be read.The code related:

I'm writing a program that basically loads an entire text file into a streamreader variable, then reads this variable line by line and parses and writes a line into a new text file. I'm VERY new and my knowledge is mostly self-taught, but I can't seem to get out of this one. It works for smaller files, but it appears to reach a limit in characters at some point because in a file of 900 lines, it stops writing about halfway through 800 and there are no errors, the program actually completes and the message box pops up.
There are a few things with this code I already know I should fix, such as creating the new text file name, it's messy, I just don't know how.

other than GML (Yoyogames.com Game Maker Language), I am new to the coding world.
