1 - User enters invalid current password
2 - New passwords do not match
3 - User's account is locked
4 - User cannot authenticate because password is expired
It's case 4 that I'm struggling with, because their is no way for me to take the password the user entered and verify it against active directory without getting an error.

Jan 12, 2010I've got a DataGridview I want to remove columns from as it greatly increases performance when I format the DGV. The first time I remove columns in a loop (using the removeat) property, everythings fine. But when I try to remove more columns in another loop, it appears to remove the wrong columns and displays the wrong data. In other words, it displays the wrong data and headers; and the columns it does show has headers and cells that don't match.

Get Wrong Size Of Form When Appl Is Installed On A Different Machine
Jan 16, 2012I have a Windows application written in VB.NET in Visual Studio 2005.The application opens a form to perform some measurements and to present data.
The application works fine when i run it om my "development computer" in debug mode. Also when i install in and run it on my computer.
But when i install it on the customer computer and run it i get a form that is smaller in size (not as wide as in my computer) and the result is that lots of graphics components are located outside the form and therefore not availible for the user.

Aug 10, 2009I've setup a login form on an app I am building and I am using that to pull back user details from SQL @USername, then comparing the password on SQL to the one typed into the login form. The username and password get pulled back from SQL and fill two text boxes which are hidden from the user under a logo image (I haven't actually set them to visible = false cause I've had that cause errors itself with other things before)

Password Entry In Form That Only Opens Once
Mar 19, 2010I need to create a program that requires password entry. I was thinking of having a form that the user uses to set the password that only opens once (unless a button on the main form is clicked to reset the password.) once the password has been set, the form closes and another opens to enter the password and for each and every time the program is run. Another thing is that if the password has been entered wrong 3 times, the program gives a message box and closes on the ok button.

I made a form with a password field in the middle, the size of the form cover the entire screen and there is no border. But now I'm trying to find a way to remove all possible ways to exit the form without enter the correct password like CTRL+ALT+Del, ALT+F4, CTRL+ESC, CTRL+TAB, WIN KEY, or any of the short keys. I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate and everything I've found is for 98 and XP and won't seem to work. I have a delete button in the same form that I want only the administrator or any authorized person to be able to use. Basically, I want to make the delete button password protected so that the normal user can't delete any of his details. only the admin who has the admin password can delete it. Sep 25, 2009I have created my own virtural keyboard for a touch screen interface. I used two forms,one for the main program and one for my keyboard so the keyboard will have opacity of 90%.in my main program form's login screen, i have two textboxs, one for username one for password. the password is a textbox with UseSystemPasswordChar property set to True.I used the technique descripted here: How to: Simulate Mouse and Keyboard Events in Code to send a keycode to different form window.
1. get window handler using FindWindow()
2. set main program form as focused window by SetForgoundWindow()
3. then sendkeys.send(keycodes)
it worked perfectly when i try to input letters to the username by the virtual keyboard, but it not really working for the password textbox.Strange when i set the password textbox 's UseSystemPasswordChar to False again it worked. if i put my virtual keyboard as one of the controls of my main program form it also works but i then don't have the opacity property for my keyboard. of course, in this case the Findwindow() and setforgroundwindow() is not needed.
