Get Wrong Size Of Form When Appl Is Installed On A Different Machine
Jan 16, 2012
I have a Windows application written in VB.NET in Visual Studio 2005.The application opens a form to perform some measurements and to present data.
The application works fine when i run it om my "development computer" in debug mode. Also when i install in and run it on my computer.
But when i install it on the customer computer and run it i get a form that is smaller in size (not as wide as in my computer) and the result is that lots of graphics components are located outside the form and therefore not availible for the user.

I am using mshtml to parse HTML in my ASP.NET-MVC application. Works great on my development machine, which has VS2008 Professional installed. Works great on my staging machine, which has VS Express 2008/WebDev installed. But it throws a FileNotFoundException when trying to load the COM object on the production server, which has no versions of Visual Studio.
Exception type: FileNotFoundException
Exception message: Could not load file or assembly
'Microsoft.mshtml, Version=7.0.3300.0,

I don't want to install Visual Studio on the production box. I have read a suggestion that running C:Program filesCommon FilesMerge modulesvs_piaredist.exe solves this problem but this directory does not exist on my production box. How can I use mshtml on the production machine?

I'm quite new to VB Programming and I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 for programming. I'm writing an application that communicates with an Omron PLC via CX-Server Lite which brings some ActiveX plugins for VB. So far I solved a couple of problems and my application "is doing something" already.My question in the end might be really easy. I inserted 3 bitlamps (Omron ActiveX Components) in a form, gave them the size and position I wanted them to have. When I now start my application they show up in the wrong size. It seems as if they would keep there position but they simply have the wrong size and even overlap each others although I have them sorted nicely in Visual Studio.Another effect I have is, sometimes when I move the components around on the Form in Visual Studio they seem to be "behind" the Form. I can't see them anymore but i can highlight and move them.

I'm using GetFileInfo in order to get file size on movie files.
I can read good size values from files with 1.4 GB, but for files with 20GB or 32GB I get wrong values.
Is there any limitatin when using GetFileInto, or should I use a different code when using big files?

I am generating PDF file using Crystal report ExportToDisk method in VB.NET 3.5.
Locally and on integration environment generated PDF file is much readable i.e.font size is good. But the PDF file generated on production environment is different in formatting.The lines are wrapping and font size is also little small. There is not Adobe installed on integration.

I'm facing a problem reading .csv file into datatable. The machine on which i install my window service ( which reads the csv ) is Windows Server 2008 R2.The error i get is : The 'Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine
Below is the code i use to fill the dataset from .csv file :
string connstr = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.Oledb.4.0;Data Source=" + System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName(arrFilesName[iCount].ToString()) + ";Extended Properties = 'text;HDR=YES;FMT=Delimited'";
OleDbConnection conn = new OleDbConnection(connstr);
[code]....
I also looked at the other option i.e. Micorosft.Office.Interop.Excel but that also needs Excel installed.So, I would like to know that, is there a way to read a .csv file without having Microsoft Excel install on the machine.

Question: How do I programmatically determine which provider to use (Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 vs Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0) when my app runs as a 32-bit process on a machine with Office x64 installed?
I'm developing a VB.net WinForms app in VS 2010 and targeting both x86 and x64.The app processes data from xls, xlsx, mdb and accdb files using System.Data.OleDb:Dim oConn As OleDbConnection = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=...")
The x64 version of the program works as expected. The x86 version works as expected on a system with Office x86.When I run the x86 version on a machine with Office 2010 x64, I get the following exception when trying to open a connection:
The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine.I believe this is because I'm running Office 2010 x64 so the x86 data access components are not installed.I can get it to work for Office 2003 files (*.mdb and *.xls) by changing the provider to Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0.
How do I figure out which provider to use when running as a 32-bit process on a machine with Office x64 installed?Ideally, I'd like a function:If ProviderIsAvailableFor("Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0") Then
Else If ProviderIsAvailableFor("Microsoft.JET.OLEDB.4.0") Then

I've got a DataGridview I want to remove columns from as it greatly increases performance when I format the DGV. The first time I remove columns in a loop (using the removeat) property, everythings fine. But when I try to remove more columns in another loop, it appears to remove the wrong columns and displays the wrong data. In other words, it displays the wrong data and headers; and the columns it does show has headers and cells that don't match.
