VS 2008 Application.StartupPath(), Back/up A Level Into Another?
Jul 5, 2010been banging my head on this, i need to get the applications path, then go up 1 folder then into another. As i have a main app and sub apps.
So were Application.StartupPath()is for example:"C: Main app folderSub app folder"How do i then go up a folder to"C: Main app folder"I Know it needs some string removal using on it but i can seem to get it right, after which i could then use Application.StartupPath() 'string removal here" & " ools"to navigate to another sub apps folder etc.

May 31, 2011I work with a database, the db is on the <project_folder>database folder.
If want to open the database, Application.StartupPath returns[code]...
So I have to compile the project to an .exe to make tests.

it is saving... whats wrong with the code? and when i test the value of the wrong code (by msgbox), it says 295.the right code says 0.

i use a hiden label to "show" the path. to the picturebox read�s the location from the label and the databas reads and writes the locatin to the label and the "openfiledialog" writes the location to the label. sp that simple.
2008 Count Lines In Textbox With Multiple Lines Using Label To Display The Numbers?
Sep 3, 2009how to count the lines in textbox1.text (with multiplelines). I don't need to count each character. I only need to count each line from top to bottom in textbox1.text (multiplelines) and I will use Label1 to display the numbers.
example:
1-pauljaones
2-tommyperrry
3-marktoms
4-Jonessmith
5-paulwhite
Obviously this is 5 lines and that's what I need to count.

The only thing I can do for now is either use the substring function to remove the first character from all array values after 0 but I don't like that because it's messy and what if the split "works" as I want it to one one of the lines and knocks of the first character when I don't want it to.

I want to start at the bottom line and compare values within it to those in the line above and then repeat the process, ie. the second bottom line to the third bottom line and so on.The code used to compare straight out variables I can handle, the difficultly for me lies in identifying particular lines and fields within a text file.If someone would be kind enough to provide the code for this, I have googled it but it's clearly beyond my ability.

Aug 9, 2011This time i have a RTB (look.text) that contains no more than 12 lines (it updates according to a listbox but it will never exceed 12 lines of text). The lines contain numbers like this:2345,0,0,1,36,... and the last line will always be a number like: + or -123456789I also have 12 textboxes (a0.text to a11.text). How do i write each line from the RTB in a textbox?-i can't show you my code because it looks stupid and no matter what i tried i always ended up getting the same error "Index was outside the bounds of the array"-
