I need to draw lines, in one VB form. Like paint, I need the tool brush, and design some lines and curves in a Vb form. How can I do this? I don't know where to start.
how to count the lines in textbox1.text (with multiplelines). I don't need to count each character. I only need to count each line from top to bottom in textbox1.text (multiplelines) and I will use Label1 to display the numbers.
I've been pondering upon my idea on how to create/update a text file using each item in a listbox as lines, but I fail each time. I've searched this forum as well as my friend, Google. Still nothing.

I know how to use the default buttons item, but is there any way to achieve the style of multiline buttons (or maybe rather, "clickable text"?) like shown below?
The situation is that I have an interface for the user to select what kind of file he wishes to establish, and there has to be a brief description under the larger, main line of text.
I'm only planning to run this on Windows 7, so I don't need to worry about backwards compatibility with older versions of Windows
I'm new in development in vb.net IDE, and I need your advises on how to create multi form in one screen like a project properties screen in VB2008 IDE, thus when you you go to Menu Project -> Project Properties... you can see that screen is divided into two panes the left one for options to choose and the right one for configuration and preferences.
I need to know how to achive this and how to create similar to that thus if you choose any button from left the form content changes at right (ok is this single form and all controls were set to invisible /visible or is it muliform programming.
I have another question : how can I change the Left pane with Treeview control and choose my option from there.
I am new with VB. I got now the Visual Studio 2008. I newer used it before.I need the following:I need a login form, which is using an MS Access 2003 database, in which I stored usernames and passwords.

I am currently creating an application which monitors any errors that occur in the other applications I have developed. One thing that I want to try and do is add a sort of discussion thread into the form, so this allows for each member of IT to add comments/notes about the error that occurred.Normally I would just use a DataGridView or a ListView, but I would like to have the capability for the comments/notes to be multi-lined so that the user can see what has been written without having to scroll sideways.

I created several Reports in Visual studio. and now I would like to create a form with buttons that open the reports. I have been searching for the code to open a report but cannot find anything useful.

Is it possible to create a code that when a button is clicked it Print Screens part of the form (For example, location 3,4 to location 30,40) and then saves the image?
I have need for a customised form as the main page of my app, what I'm looking for is to create an amoebic shaped form, something like this. I realize that my 'window' will by nature need to be rectangular and that i will need it to have no titlebar and transparent edges, also i will need to have 'regions' on this form that will allow the form to be closed and turned into a standard rectangular form. I have no idea where to begin with doing this but I hope and presume it is possible with vb.net. The image I have used is for illustrative purposes only, i don't plan to do exactly this (my app is a database not a media player for one thing) If having it is a breach of copyright in this context I will remove it.
Is it possible to create and view an Excel 2007 line chart in a form in VB 2008?My VB program has a listview control in details view like a spreadsheet. Currently I have this data exported into a csv file which I copy into an xlsx file where I have created a few line charts based on the data.
I am drawing lines on a picturebox - not in the paint event. I realise that if I resize the PictureBox the lines won't be redrawn - but the PictureBox is fixed. If I display a MessageBox at the end of my draws the lines do not remain on the screen. This was OK with VB 6.0. Hoe can I stop them being erased?
I have made a drawing program. It draws a line when you click in the form, but if the form is minimized or another window is on top of it, the lines disappear partially.
Here is the
Dim FormMiddleX As Integer Dim FormMiddleY As Integer
I add via (addString plus fill Path to give Outline Text) for say eight lines of text (which fill the screen with margins set at top and bottom) from a DatagridView control but there are say ten lines to that section, so I want to use the down arrow to scroll the lines up the screen, so the top two go off the top of the screen(hiden by margin boxes) and the last two added at the bottom. I have this all working but there is a lot of flickering, how can I do this more smoothly? I think it is the Form.refresh that causes the flickering, I have tried ResetText, Invalidate and Graphic.Clear, but none seem to make it smooth.
Sections of code:
'Adds line For A = LineStart To LineSelEnd + 1 strItem = DataGridView1.Item(1, A - 1).Value Dim useFont As Font = New Font(SongFont, CInt(SongSizeP), SongStyle)
How do you create custom chrome for a windows form in vb.net using Visual Basic 2008 express? I want to basically scrap what they give and start fresh.
I need to create a form with radio buttons, text boxes, labels, etc.. This information needs to be pulled from a database. For instance, I have a form that displays information that needs to be inputed to a database, based on what test is being done for a specific product. Each product requires different tests. So each product may or may not have the same information that needs to be inputed..
What I have done is made a database and filled a table with each product and what tests apply. I then call that database after the product has been selected for the tests. It will then fill an array for that products information for what texts boxes and labels need to be shown. I wanna take this further and have it create a form through code and align all the controls to specific spots so that it will look nice. For example I wouldn't wanna create a control and have it be cut out of the form, or have other controls overlapping others.
