Client Object Model: Uploading File To Drop Off Library Doesn't Apply Content Organizer Rules

I am currently developing a service using the SharePoint 2010 Client Object Model to programmatically upload Excel worksheets to a Drop Off Library and then set the properties on the file. This process is working well. However, the Drop Off Library is governed by Content Organizer Rules that aren't being applied to the uploaded file. I have examined every property I thought I could have missed: [code] What's most frustrating is that if I edit the document properties using the Web UI and check it back in without making any changes, the file is moved to its final location. What might I have overlooked that is preventing Content Organizer Rules from being applied to newly uploaded files when using SP2010 COM?

I am not sure where to post this as I didn't see a forum for SharePoint on here. I hope someone can help me with this.I have a form sitting on a webapp outside of the sharepoint server (which is why I am using the Client Object Model). To make a long story short the form is sending data to a SP list. This list is made up of regular string fields, date fields, lookup lists, choice lists and user data.
I am able to insert data that isn't part of a list with no issues. However, when I update any of the lookup lists i receive the following error:Invalid look-up value. A look-up field contains invalid data. Please check the value and try again. So I then wrote code that went to the list and got the entire item as follows (please bare in mind this is not very eloquent, but it gets the data)

I have a .net asp app that updates a SP form. I am using the Client object model. Currently when inserting a record the record is inserted using the App pool ID. Is it possible to somehow set the context to use the ID of the person logged into the webapp or a custom ID separate from the default. I can't find any data in this in the web or gong through the context methods.

I have a windows project completed and am using an MDI with a help menu.So now I'm working with a click once deployment.When the user clicks help, it should load an .HTM file, but instead, when installed on the client it gets a "page cannot be displayed error".
I created the file in word. Saved as an .HTM. along with it came the images folder. I placed it in the bin/debug folder. I've made sure all the images and the .HTM files are set to Build Action = content and Copy Always. These files are copied out to the deployment website. It shows as "required(auto)" under appication settings, publish. Everything else in the deployment works nicely, including Crystal Reports and Powerpacks.So what is going wrong with this?The help is a windows form with a browser control on it and the following code.Note that the Catch on the Try doesnt kick in either on the client.

I need to write some code to tell the user when daylight savings starts and ends in another timezone, this is what I came up with but it keeps selecting the last Else line. The other lines are working fine, the problem is only with the lines, daylight savings today and not tomorrow. There is probably a much neater way of doing this but I thought this would work.

I am trying to add multiple files to FTP server by dragging and dropping and I am able to do that using try catch block and if we give the ftp settings correctly it takes 1 sec to upload them but when we give wrong details it hangs up and dosen't give me any error message though If I give an exceptional message.
Now I am getting error message as well as success message for every file I add.I do not want that to be happen.where should I give messages for success and failure so that it should take few seconds for uploading and if not should give me a message immediately.

When I add, update or delete a record using DataGridView, which events should I use for applying these changes? I'm binding DataGridView's DataSource property programatically. I only connect it with a DataTable. I'm not using a BindingSource. Is this the reason why doesn't DGV apply record changes automatically?

Between testing sessions on my windows service, I'm changing code (little tweaks here and there). For more detailed debugging, I've had the application send messages to a text file everytime it does something (executes a new procedure, catches an exception, etc).
I've been doing this for a while, but ever since yesterday, it appeared that the new code wasn't being used. To test this, I changed the name and location of the log file that the service would use, and re-installed it shortly after a new successful build. As it turns out, the service is writing only 1 message (about a timer being started - which is only supposed to happen after it's logged the start of the service) to the old text file. It looks to me like my service isn't using the new code in my Service1.vb file, Like the old code has been cached or something, and the service is installing from that.

So I create the model container:
Private mdbContext As PFModelContainer
Private mdbTransactions As Object
Before I did it this way:
Private mdbContext As New PFModelContainer
Private mdbTransactions As mdbContext.Transactions
Thinking maybe I was doing something wrong I changed it over to the first way, then I do:
Public Sub New()
mdbContext = New PFModelContainer
mdbTransactions = mdbContext.Transactions
End Sub
Once I hit mdbContext = New PFModelContainer it takes me over to the PFModel.Designer.vb Where it steps through the following:

MyBase.New("name=PFModelContainer", "PFModelContainer")
At which point it terminates execution of the code. This is the error it gives me on the Immediate window:
A first chance exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred
in System.Data.Entity.dll
Is there something I can do to make this error go away? I tried deleting the project and recreating it with my old .edmx model that I downloaded from Mozy from when it used to work. It stopped working (as far as I can tell) after I changed the .edmx model and updated it. Maybe I did something else in the other project too, but I'm not recalling anything.This is what is in the app.config:

I'm developing a business model for an application where I am representing physical entities. The hierarchy created from this is neat, but as I'm doing this, I'm beginning to think about things like, what properties should be included in one that may already be apart of another? Or what if some properties are expected to be in one object, but another object needs to return that value, how does it communicate that request through the hierarchical chain? And what is the best practice for this design?

But then I got to thinking, what if I have a ConnectionPoint entity and I want it to return which Panel it has? Should it have it's own Panel association as well? Or should there be a method/pattern for communicating the request up the chain? And again... what's typical best practice?

I am knowledgeable of how to add the data to SQL tables...this portion of the code is already written. Has anyone ever used he vnc client library from David Humphrey? [URL] I can implement it and get connected, but can not for the life of me figure out how to authenticate with a remote terminal using a pre-configured password in the vb.net code. I try to use authenticate = "p@%%w0RD" but it states that I can not call this command until it connects. When I connect then try and call the command then authenticate a password dialog pops open, then complains that it is already authenticated.

My module won't run, it can't find the project or library, and highlights: the Date function in: MsgBox (Date).This is happening to several VBA functions, but this is the first one.I have all the libraries referenced that I think I need, especially the Visual Basic for Applications checked.There is a MISSING: Office12 library, but the Date function is part of the VBA library, so I don't think this should be the issue.

I get an error while trying to install a third party Excel add-in [Thomson One Analytics]. Error: "Compile error in hidden module: Main" Microsoft Excel 2003..But when I had the Addin unlocked.I noticed that it was getting stuck at a specific line in the MAIN module of the Addin package and the debugger throws a compile error message saying that: "Object library Invalid or contains references to object definitions that could not be found". Earlier when I had this issue,I made another user login to the PC and we were able to use the add-in successfully. But this time even a different user with Admin Rights was not able to use it. [code]
Tried to install and run the Addin on the same computer by a different user having admin rights, no go.Made sure that he references for the add-in in the VBA editor are correct, by comparing them with a working computer, no go Re-installed "Service Pack 6 for Visual Basic 6.0: Run-Time Redistribution Pack (vbrun60sp6.exe)", no go. Be able to instantiate the object and hook up the MessageReceived and ConnectionChanged events (or ones with similar purposes). Be able to send data (duh) When data is received, it fires the MessageReceived event on the same thread that the object was created on (this would be nice, but not absolutely required). Have a blocking and non-blocking options for connecting and possibly sending data.

I'm still somewhat new to visual basic and programming in general (started teaching myself in December so I could learn how to program), and up till now I've been very successful at troubleshooting my more difficult problems with liberal use of google and forum-browsing. However, this is the first problem I've had that I can't find mentioned anywhere else.In the design view, my form looks perfectly fine. But for some reason—somehow—at runtime the form doesn't line up properly in its window (white space between the border and the grey area where the background begins). I haven't altered the size programmatically, nor have I changed any settings (as far as I know) that weren't changed in other forms as well (this is the only one that's messed up).
I should also mention that I don't have any code that interacts with the form's own design code or events, except for the Load event (where I assign values to three tooltips).

The only clues I've gotten to what may be the issue are that if I try to resize the window with the mouse (at runtime), the pointer gets stuck resizing (it can't "let go" of the window). The other clue is that if I click on the white part itself, I'm able to drag the window around (like I were clicking the bar at the top of the window, that I just realized I don't know the name of, which is kind of embarrassing...). Other than that, everything in the form works as it should (including the three half-buttons).

Ok, I have a usercontrol in a Class Library Projects which contains a Button, 2 Listboxes, and a Progress bar. My code is to look for a file and if its there post to one listbox and fill in the progress bar and also put the programs current task in the other listbox. Recently, I started using VB.Net 2010 Express and wanted to turn part of a form into a .dll so it would be easier to update. I started getting a error and had to declare a variable as a New instance of UserControL1 (my user control). When I did this, the control would run, but the Progress Bar doesn't fill and neither of my listboxes show anything. What Should I do?

I'm trying to upgrade a VB6 app to VB 2008. I have read the article in the tutors corner about automating Excel from VB but I cannot get it to work. Heres what I have done:
1) set a reference to the Microsoft Excel 12.0 Object Library
2) Added "Imports Excel = Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel" to the top of the module
3) in a routine I have added: Dim X As New Excel.Application Here's where I get an error: Error 75 'Application' is ambiguous in the namespace 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel'.

I'm trying to familiarize myself with network programming, and what better place to start than designing an FTP client code library?So far I'm not doing very good. I'm trying to create a method which downloads a file from a remote server to a local file path. To do so, all the examples that I could find declare a byte array that serves as a data buffer. I completely understand the point of doing that, rather than reading and writing byte per byte, but I just can't get it to work. Whenever I set a buffer greater than 1 byte, the output is somehow corrupted (different checksums, media files won't play etc).[code]Because this code does work when I set the buffer size to 1, I feel like there's something going wrong with the byte order. But all of this code is synchronous, so how is that even possible.[code]

I have an application that creates desktop shortcuts. To do this I have to reference the Windows Script Host Object Model. When I add it as a reference, it always creates the DLL, Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary.dll, in the objx86Debug directory, then references itself to it, rather than looking at wshom.ocx. Even if I add reference wshom.ocx it reverts to saving the file in the objx86Debug directory. The problem is if I move my application to another computer without that DLL being present, the program fails to run.
