IDE - Building Solution Doesn't Apply Code Changes

Between testing sessions on my windows service, I'm changing code (little tweaks here and there). For more detailed debugging, I've had the application send messages to a text file everytime it does something (executes a new procedure, catches an exception, etc).
I've been doing this for a while, but ever since yesterday, it appeared that the new code wasn't being used. To test this, I changed the name and location of the log file that the service would use, and re-installed it shortly after a new successful build. As it turns out, the service is writing only 1 message (about a timer being started - which is only supposed to happen after it's logged the start of the service) to the old text file. It looks to me like my service isn't using the new code in my Service1.vb file, Like the old code has been cached or something, and the service is installing from that.

We create a class library and ship C# and VB.NET examples.I have a solution of 60 C# projects. If I make an edit to one of them, Visual Studio only builds the changed one. I have an equivalent solution of 60 VB.NET projects. Visual Studio always builds all 60 projects. Why? Is there a way to force Visual Studio to behave like it does with C# projects?
I should mention that there are no dependencies between the projects.More information: It's not recompiling, really, it's just checking if they need compilation and that takes a significant amount of time.
Here's the build output: Build: 0 succeeded, 3 failed, 58 up-to-date, 0 skipped Those 58 checks take about 30 seconds in my solution of VB.NET projects. This same up-to-date check is almost instant in the solution of C# projects.No edit is necessary. Just switching startup projects is enough.

When I add, update or delete a record using DataGridView, which events should I use for applying these changes? I'm binding DataGridView's DataSource property programatically. I only connect it with a DataTable. I'm not using a BindingSource. Is this the reason why doesn't DGV apply record changes automatically?

I am using Visual studio 2008. I didn't see a place to post questions about this . I am creating a mobile application, at run time the executable itself is not updating to show the changes from source code i have written. I feel there must be a setting or something in visual studio .

I have a windows form I want to show in two languages. When the user clicks a language button it switches to the other language.
It works fine, when you click it all the labels change to the other language.
Only problem is labels inside a group box do not change.

I am currently developing a service using the SharePoint 2010 Client Object Model to programmatically upload Excel worksheets to a Drop Off Library and then set the properties on the file. This process is working well. However, the Drop Off Library is governed by Content Organizer Rules that aren't being applied to the uploaded file. I have examined every property I thought I could have missed: [code] What's most frustrating is that if I edit the document properties using the Web UI and check it back in without making any changes, the file is moved to its final location. What might I have overlooked that is preventing Content Organizer Rules from being applied to newly uploaded files when using SP2010 COM?

I recently found this code (provided for third party use on another VB site), however,ll of my attempts to insert it into a class library have failed.I open a new class library and past the code in, and immediately get several errors pertaining to how certain objects can't be found. I find it it is crucial to use this code, unless someone can suggest to me another example of existing code that will do the same thing: make a restricted textbox who imputs can be restricted, that can handle pasting, shortcuts, text property setting, and script-entered text.

I am currently writing a program in Visual Basic 2008 express edition to read and write to tags on an Omron PLC. I am using the DeviceXPlorer OPC Server V4.1.1.1 program to connect to the Omron PLC. I have made two programs, one is a form program which works fine, two is a windows service program where it does not let me connect to the OPC Server. I'm playing with a simple string replacement editor for editing VB.Net functions outside of VB. Is there a way to apply VB.Net code formatting to a string?
For example. The txtboxCodeEntry looks like this:

I would like it to "autoformat" to:
If strVar = "dummy" Then

End If
The formatting would match whatever formatting VB.Net does when you're editing code in the Visual Studio IDE.

I was using VB 2008 to code using applications. An example of something I coded was hangman. I was wondering if its possible to somehow use the application code and apply it to a form.So for example with the code below how would one go about putting into a form? It is saved on my desktop for easy access.I can close the program. I can click the solution to open it right back up, no problems.I then zip my file (also to the desktop)
My problem: I moved the original file (Project A) to another folder and extracted the unzipped Project A onto the desktop. When I open the new Project A's solution file, nothing happens besides VB starting up. It doesn't show me anything.

I'm new to .NET so please forgive me if my question doesnt make sense.I'm working on a project where the difficult part is already written. I have the classes for comms drivers and can use the properties and methods with expected results.What i need to do is perform a task every 500msec regardless of which form is loaded. Is there some sort of "module??" I can have running continously every 500msec? Off a timer event perhaps?
These variables should have global scope throughtout the application so I can access them from different forms.

I've been trying to create a working keygen for three months and I havn't figured it out. I first inserted two buttons and named one "Generate" and the other "Exit" and then I put in a textbox. I have a VB.Net project that I haven't worked on in awhile. I got into this morning and started to run it. I got some errors so I decided to step thru the code. I enter the Page_Load event of a Form module and execute a function call and it takes me to a "End Function" statement. Totally bypasses the function that was called. I continued to step thru it and it just took me randomly thru code. No order whatsoever. I believe I've had this happen before but don't recall how I fixed it.

I'm attempting to create an app which uses a vendor-supplied Web Service. They provided sample code to show how to work with the Web Service, but all the code is in C#.. not a huge deal.I opened one of their demo projects and it compiles fine, works perfectly.
So, I open up MY project, drop in the converted code and... wait for it... ERROR!Here is the working C# code that IS working:
