building a table from code behind and attempting to change alternate row colors.I have it working but at he moment only using Drawing.Color when I would like to use a hexidecimal value, is there a way of doing this?

I know how to have alternate row colors with ListView. But how about with ListBox? I've run a search. I read in some web sites where they say you can't. Is that true? Meanwhile, I've done something like:

View 6 RepliesAs the title says, when I attempt to update a row in a table in a database, I recieve an InvalidCastException. I am unsure why, since the variables I am using should be, and indeed, when I check them at runtime, are filled with the correct data.
I am trying to update using the method wherein the row that is being updated is identified with all the variables already stored. Interestingly, Intellisense is telling me that EntryID, the primary key, is only necessary in it's original form, and that the variables that I am attempting to update have question marks after their type.
I recently upgraded my system to Windows 7 64bit and ever since then I have had nothing but issues with my code attempting to access an Oracle database. I was using msdaora for my connection string however that does not work in 64bit. I changed over to OraOLEDB.Oracle which everything I can find on Google says to use however it fails every time. I have installed Oracle 11g 2 times now and even tried reinstalling VB.net 2010 and still no luck.

I recently found this code (provided for third party use on another VB site), however,ll of my attempts to insert it into a class library have failed.I open a new class library and past the code in, and immediately get several errors pertaining to how certain objects can't be found. I am using vb.net in my project. I have a datagridview bounded to a datatable m_table which has a column called Price_Change with decimal values. I want to display text in datagridview in green if price change>0 and red otherwise. I cannot simply use the following formatting because the bounded data table m_table is constructed in my code, not directly through data base.

sometime in 2007, I created a program for a few people that play a game using AOL. I had 75 buttons set up, and when you click on it a certain amount of times, the colors change... click once changes red, click 2 times changes blue, etc. Well, a few of them had lost the program and I had lost my project files when my old HD crashed. and I cant remember what the coding was for changing the buttons colors... One of them had the First one I made, which I had made updates to that (it was a beta), but I dont have the correct files to open anything to see what the coding was that I used..
I have the setup.exe, filename.application, filename.version#.application, and a few other files, but none of them that I open shows any kind of coding at all. Is there any way I can open something to view that coding again? or could someone explain how you can change a buttons color when clicking on it?

View 5 Replieshow I can make a progress bar change colors while retaining the look of a Windows 7 Progress Bar. What I mean is, default it show the green. However, setting backcolor and forecolor does not affect the progress bar while XP styles is enabled.
What I am trying to do is make the progress bar the red progress bar if an error is encountered. I have the error solution set up, I just need it where the progress bar turns to red if the event of the download is stopped by internet connection being disconnected.

I am trying to create a simple paint program with radio buttons to change colors and size of the brush and draw within a panel on my form(VB 2008 Express).I cannot get the buttons to work. However, the proxy address changes depending on which company I am at. I would like to be able to make a single program, but have a "hidden" setting to change the proxy and store it in the program, and push a copy of the file out across the network to each machine. I tried to make it so the proxy address can be saved as a string in My.Settings, but it would have to be made as a User setting rather than an application setting to give it read-write access.The only other option I can think of is to hard-code the proxy address into the program, which really isn't ideal

View 7 RepliesBetween testing sessions on my windows service, I'm changing code (little tweaks here and there). For more detailed debugging, I've had the application send messages to a text file everytime it does something (executes a new procedure, catches an exception, etc).
I've been doing this for a while, but ever since yesterday, it appeared that the new code wasn't being used. To test this, I changed the name and location of the log file that the service would use, and re-installed it shortly after a new successful build. As it turns out, the service is writing only 1 message (about a timer being started - which is only supposed to happen after it's logged the start of the service) to the old text file. It looks to me like my service isn't using the new code in my Service1.vb file, Like the old code has been cached or something, and the service is installing from that.
I'm just curious to know if there's any way to build my app. from its binary code. I just saw the thread of creating a program builder and got curious.

I've been trying to create a working keygen for three months and I havn't figured it out. I first inserted two buttons and named one "Generate" and the other "Exit" and then I put in a textbox.
