System.OutOfMemoryException While Adding A Large File To Resources
Sep 21, 2009
i am trying to add a mpg file to resources. at the time of compiling it throws following exception.the size of file is 200mb. [code]how is it possible to add a large size file to exe resources?
I'm downloading a bunch of files from a URI but when they get big, I get an utOfMemoryException. I thought at first it was MemoryStream error but I'm pretty sure now that the error is rooted in the declaration of an array of Bytes that's too large. (Half a gig is fine, 1.7 gig is not.)
In a windows forms application I am attempting to read a file from a share into a filestream.I then start impersonating and write the stream to another share that only my impersonation account has access to.This works fine for small files. But if I attempt this on a 90 meg file I recieve a "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service" error on the following line:
i want to ask about read file and then convert to binary i am using this code
Function readd(ByVal path As String, Optional ByVal Separator As String = " ") ' Store the line in this String. Dim line As String
[code].....
it works fine to read small file, example 2MB file, etc but it get error "Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown." when try to read 100MB file i think the error code because the file is too big
For Each Character As Byte In ASCIIEncoding.ASCII.GetBytes(line) oReturn.Append(Convert.ToString(Character, 2).PadLeft(8, "0")) oReturn.Append(Separator) Next
how can i read 100MB or bigger file?or maybe is it another method / code to read a file and convert it into binary?
An unhandled exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' occurred in ystem.windows.forms.dllAdditional information: Error creating window handle. It appeared when I was loading a child form (frmPublisher) from the MDI form. I'm guessing this has something to do with the loaded form being overloaded or something? This didn't kind of error didn't happen when frmPublisher's only opened the database connection once (during the Load event). I modified the code to make sure that frmPublisher's subs only opened
I have a datagridview that has 65000 rows and 200 columns. I need to extract unique rows from the datagridview based on some sort of relevancy percentage.
While processing these rows it gives me an error "System.OutOfMemoryException" at around 47000 row. I searched for this exception over internet and found that it is related to RAM. I have 4GB RAM and my OS is Vista. However it would be used by people having as low as 512 MB RAM.
I need to extract data from a .dbf file and transform it into xml. I wrote a routine that does it just fine. However now we are encountering very large .dbf files - like 2GB +. And this code throws an OutOfMemoryException on those files.
Public Function GetData() As DataTable Dim dt As New DataTable(Name) Dim sqlcommand As String= "Select * From MyTable"
I wrote a POS system a few years back, about 5 Then updated it about 2 years there after, so it has been running without problems for about three years now.All of a sudden of saturday, The following error comes up, System.outofmemory exception in mscorlib. All the system does is run the POS. Its not connected to the internet, nobody installs anything on there. And to make it worse, I now specialise in web strategy, and am a 'bit rusty' when it comes to vb.net applications.
I have written a lil program that takes input from the serial port, loads it to an array 6 by 100 and then saves it in an XML file. If i run the program more than 2 hours i get an exception of: "System.OutOfMemoryException occured in mscorlib.dll" One of the suggestions is , if you are creating an array make sure the size is correct. Here is my Array:
I am a c# dev working on some code for a website in vb.net. We use a lot of caching on a 32bit iss 6 win 2003 box and in some cases run into OutOfMemoryException exceptions. This is the code I trace it back to and would like to know if anyone else has has this. [Code] System.OutOfMemoryException was thrown at Go60505(RegexRunner ) at System.Text.RegularExpressions.CompiledRegexRunner.Go()
I'm prompted with this error 'Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown' it was thrown when filling a dataset with 400,000+ records. And I think obviously is about memory matter because of the number of records to be transfer. My program goes this way.. after filling a dataset from a table it will transfer all data into another table. Now my question is, Is it possible in vb.net that while filling a dataset it transfers the record immediately into another table? Please give me an idea on how to do this.

What does this mean? I have this error after i tried to add a database to my project in vb.net.If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room
I do not know how to call this item in the codes using my resources (e.g. my.resources.pic.jpeg ?? )
The main reason I would like to do this is because when I publish the project, Upon clicking setup installation everything will be embedded together in respective folder instead of I add it manually.
Which seemed the most logical thing to do, but that didn't work.. This problem has been my concern for over a few hours now and it's the first one that made me come to Dreamincode to ask for a subtle hint.
I am adding all of my files as resources into my project (so they will work on another computer) however, I have some videos that I added as a resource for playing with AxVLC and I can't seem to figure out how to get them to work. I'm getting an error :Error 1 Value of type '1-dimensional array of Byte' cannot be converted to 'AxAXVLC.AxVLCPlugin'.
Normally, i don't get this error while open form design. But I am ALWAYS get this error, when i worked on my project apx. 30 minutes.
When i get this error, i close my project, and reopen. then this error gone... "view designer" work normally and open my form. I have got 4GM ram,and when i get this error,my used ram is 2.5 gb. I am using VB.net 2008.[code...]
(Attempting managed execution inside OS Loader lock. Do not attempt to run managed code inside a DllMain or image initialization function since doing so can cause the application to hang .) in this code. Could anybody tell me, why I have System.outofmemory exception when i release arrays? There is no exception while large arrays exist so why after their realesing??
Developing a multilingual application in VB.Net 2008, Im able to add resources to forms and create a multilingual forms depending on uiculture. On reading Msdn on creating the multilingual string values for messagebox contents, have added the .resource file to the project files path as specified. There is no error on compilation but throws the MissingManifestResourceException error
Dim rm As ResourceManager rm = ResourceManager.CreateFileBasedResourceManager("strFormResources", ".", Nothing)
[code].....
There is strFormResources.resources and strFormResources.fr-FR.resources in Resources of the project. I have searched for this error details but could not find a solution. What am i doing wrong or is there any other method for displaying multilingual strings in the messagebox.
I'm getting a collection of processes, adding them to a ListView, and deleting them from it when needed. All of this is done in a timer. The problem, is that after a while, the app freezes. I think this is because I'm not disposing any variables.
Here's my VB.NET Private _processes As New List(Of String)() Dim killedProcs As New List(Of String)(_processes) Dim processes As Process() = System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses() For Each proc As Process In processes [Code] .... I tried disposing of my process list, but the IDE wouldn't let me. That's the only thing I thought would need disposing since it is what hold all of the processes.
We are in the final stages of releasing a new in-house written system within our company. We have opted to create a single system/project containing multiple programs (like a mini ERP system). We are stuck on the navigation mechanism which will allow the user to load the appropriate forms. I am personally not a fan of the Tree View control because I think it is unfriendly to users. I have been looking on the web for some inspiration and I am interested in the design of the OPEN BRAVO ERP system. Before we dive in though, I wanted to get other programmers opinions. What do you find works best in VB 2008?
I've been reading a lot of articles here and there, really, for the past two days, searching for a good local storage system. I have no immediate use for now, so I am just exploring my choices. By saying 'local storage system,' I'm talking about some sort of database used for applications that let users manage and organize personal accounts (bank accounts, web site accounts, application licenses...). I do use XML to store user settings. But if you have to manage lots of information locally, XML won't probably be good enough, I'm afraid.
So what are choices Visua Basic users? Well, as I often mention, I develop Mac software products. And I use SQLite. In fact, every one of some 40 apps sold at Mac App Store uses SQLite for good reasons. I know that you can use SQLite with Visual Studio after installing a package from sqlite.phxsoftware.com. But I don't know if your application can reproduce a database file when necessary. That being said, I'm looking for a system that I can use to create a file programmatically especially when the user launches it for the first time. So what do you use to locally manage large information? SQL Express? SQLite? XML?
I was wondering if there was a way to find out how much memory a data structure too up. So say I declared a list of strings. Dim theRN As New Dictionary(Of String, Integer) Say it had 25 elements in it. How to find out how much memory those 25 elements are costing me?
