Child Window Open Inside Of The Main Window Form?

Jul 12, 2011I had a master form which has a MDI container.When I was load the master form, I will also display another form inside the MDI container.But I was fail to maximize the child form to fix the MDI container. Moveable Property Is Missing
Aug 31, 2010So I'm want Form1 to not be moveable. I've read that all you need to do is set the Moveable property of the form to False, but for some reason, I can't find it in the list where it should be between MinimumSize and Opacity. Or other simple ways I could make Form1 unable to be moved?

Feb 28, 2009I'm using a printcreen function where I use X and Y to set where the screenshot will be taked. But the problem is that it uses the X and Y from the entrie screen. Jul 8, 2009I have a problem. Controls is put inside form but don't appear when debug? I don't know what happened but. I put a Checkbox control and a button control named Button 3 on the my existing form. But when I debug the application. The Checkbox and Button 3 controls did not appear in the form? I try to put a message box which will be activate when Button 3 is clicked. I put a breakpoint there and I got this message. Breakpoint cannot be hit?

What I can think of is to raise an event on the form that is moved/resized which calls a parent form handler method that loops through all the forms, check the edges and then keeps fixing (repositioning) the active form if any of its edges is close to any other form edge

Upon another event, we need to refresh the browser window with different parameters for strItem and strOrder.
If I call the same code above, it opens a new tab in the browser window. Is there any way to refresh the same browser window that was previously opened?

I know then typically, windows are free floating anywhere on the screen, but somehow they manage to keep it confined to a certain container area. It also appears that the windows never get a real "focus" as the title bar is always a faded shade of blue, yet, you can still click on them and move them around.

Mar 29, 2011Within my Visual Studio 2008 VB.Net project I am opening multiple forms after setting the form (that is opening) to be an mdichild of the main form. This works in really well in most of my forms except one. I am doing the exact same thing for all of them.
Basically I declare the new form:
Using frm As New frmName() With {.variableName = currentVariable}
frm.MdiParent = Me.MdiParent
frm.openForm()
End Using
Within the openForm subroutine in the form code I have:
Public Sub openForm()
InitializeDataSources()
... ...
Me.Show()
End Sub
I know this works because if I remove frm.MdiParent = Me.MdiParent in the main form and change Me.Show() to Me.ShowDialog() in the child form then it works perfectly. Right now (for only one form) it shows the form for only a second (looks like a flicker when staring at the program) and then closes it.

Mar 17, 2009Am devloping an application with multiple forms, which reside on top of a main form. i.e the main application window. The 'child' forms do not need to be linked in any way as they do not pass information to the parent form, as all the parent form does is act as main window.Now I would like to know what is the correct way for the 'main window' form acting as a container for the other forms? So that all the smaller secondary forms stay focused on top of the main application form, that when the main window is minimized, so these forms should do also etc..
I have read other posts and they mention, leaving all the forms standard i.e. IsMdiContainer = False and then using form.showDialog() to call the secondary forms. This did not work for me as what happens is that as soon as I give focus to the main app form, the secondary form disappears underneath.I tired making the main app form IsMdiContainer = True and when it loads calling:
frmMemberForm.MdiParent = Me
Now this works, because I can click off the form and minimize the app etc and the frmMemberForm doesn't disappear. However if i close the MemberForm and reopen it, it looses this property and once again when it looses focus, it will disappear.
