I got a window form, and I want to send data to another computer or a server over internet after the submit button is clicked. Yes, this is a very "general" question (I cant not ask it in more detail), because I don't have any information how to do that, I google it, and I heard WCF, but I am not sure how it actually can do this job (seem like WCF is related, but still researching).

It will then have a link to page 2, which allows them to edit something.I then want them to click a link that will send them back to the gridview under the same parameters of: /example/grid?value1=1&value2=2

View 7 RepliesI'm trying to send a single keystroke to an application that has no window (because I have launched it with StartInfo.CreateNoWindow = True) and therefore I can't use SendKeys. I had a look at SendMessage but this doesn't seem to be quite right as the programme I'm sending it to doesn't process message queues.I would usually use the StartInfo.RedirectStandardInput property and send it via a StreamWriter but this doesn't not work as the application it is being sent to is looking for actual keyboard keystrokes, rather than pulling info from StandardInput (an old C++ programme using getch). Anyone have any ideas how to send a keystoke to an application with no window (FYI I don't need anything back from it, I don't need to wait until it's processed, and I only need to send one letter and no carriage returns or linefeeds, though these wouldn't hurt)

If I use the SendKeys.Send method, it would send it to whatever window is opened. Is there a way to only work with the form? Very quick random example: Let's say I have 5 textBoxs and I click the 'Tab' button 5 times. What would happen ?
It would change the focus from one textbox to another right? Can I make this happen automatically ... like make it happen in the background and only to the form itself. I've been trying this for 2 days.In ASP.NET and VB.NET I've page1.aspx and page2.aspI would like when I press button1 in page1.aspx to trigger button1.click event and open a page2.aspx in a new window and send to it data.All this can easly be done if no new window, by Server.Transfer or Response.Redirect.But unfortunately they don't have an option to open a new window.[code]....

View 2 Replieshow do you send a mouse click to a window that seem to not accept them? I have tried sendmessage/postmessage, mouse_event and sendinput. None of them seem to work. Whenever the target window is in the foreground, i cant set the cursor position or do mouse_event click at all. But once it went to the back, everything works... cursor.position moves the mouse, sendinput and mouse_event can click on a different window, just not the one i want.

View 1 Repliesis it possible to make one application send a task to another application and recieve the result from that secondary app?i made a text editor program and i added a scan feature and i made another app that has ocr capabilities.The scanner ability is in my text editor program, the ocr program doesnt scan you have to input an image into it and it will give text result a few seconds later.the prob is alot of times the ocr code uses sooo much memory and crashes when its incorporated with my text editor, but individually each application works fine and doesnt take too much memory. Memory wont be even an issue if the ocr program is standalone so that when it is done decoding image the application can be made to exit. now here is the question, how do i make my text editor send the image to the ocr program and how do i make my ocr program send the text back to my text editor? is it possible? i mean the only way i know off is creating temp files in a certain folder and having a timer on each program that keeps waiting for temp files. That just seems like pretty lame coding to me i was wondering if there's a better way?
View 11 RepliesI have created an updater for my application. When the application starts the user can launch an updater that will check for the latest version. Download it and copy the files to where the installation is.
Everything works fine.
However, I am looking for a more robust technique. And I have discovered it is better to hash the files on the web server with a hash algorithm and then when they have downloaded use the same hash algorithm to compare the hash values. If they are different either the files were corrupted when downloaded or some modified them without permission.
However, my problem is where do I store the hash values? I was thinking of hashing the files, and storing all the hash values for each file in a text file, and my updater will download that text file.
I am not sure if that is the best technique to use of not? Is this the normal and best way to do this?

I'm developing a management program for a driving school, where information about all students is stored and accessed.
The thing is, this school has got two branches, so I need some way for those two computers to share files with each other in order to keep a common database. I would like to use the same program in both computers, to keep simplycity to the maximum.
I know it's using TCP, but I haven't got the lesser clue of how i can achieve that. I've looked around, but I haven't found much of how to acchieve something like that. The files both computers would be sharing are text files.
About the IPs, I'm thinking of using NoIP or one of those to always know both IPs.
