If I want to do a project there are several managers, and the manager will login and to start a setting job with a form. The only thing to create a form for a manager, is adding a form to?, say, if there are 5 managers,so,I have to create 5 forms for each manager? How about the admin can add and delete the managers?
View 1 RepliesI have a program in VB.NET 2005. At some point I have to open an Access2003-Application for getting data in it. I do that by pretending my program is a human user and let it do all the work in Access as a human user would do. Filling Fields, pressing buttons etc. I use the Primary Interop Assemblies for that. So far so good. That code is in use for over half a year now. In the last week I got Office 2007 installed on my machine. Of course I tested the installed version of my program if everthing still works. Every test was succesfull. But if I do the same tests in Visual Studio it always crashes.
All I get is this Errormessage: {"Das COM-Objekt des Typs "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.FormClass" kann nicht in den Schnittstellentyp "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access._Form3" umgewandelt werden. I'm creating a reporting application, and our customers are going to need to generate some pretty big reports which require quite a bit of memory. Ive been in a re-factoring mood lately, so I was wondering what the best way to access the properties of another open form would be(The reporting viewer opens in a new form.) So far I have:

I have programmed in VB before (vbexpress 2008) and used "formname.show()" to open and show new forms that I wished to open. I try the exact same code in vb10express(beta) and get errors! Did the code change? I cannot find any information on it if it did... or is it possibly a "betatest error" that needs to be addressed?

When I visit a website like Google.com using my custom VB browser I can't add text to the Google search form or any forms on any web page.So I can't register at web sites. And I can't login or use any form that sits on web pages.What is keeping me from accessing web page forms? I mite be missing some kind of .DLL file on windows XP but I can access forms fine in web browsers like Mozilla FireFox.

I've run into an issue with Access Key in either Visual Basic or C#... also happens whether on my windows 7 64 but laptop or my Windows Vista 32 bit laptop - in Visual Studio 2010 professional... I create an Access Key (for example E&xit)... while the underline under the x shows up in the development area, it does NOT show up when I run the application NOR does it work... for example, press alt-x does not run the code associated with the exit (nor does a break into that code show it gets into that code).When I try it in a menu, it is a little different at first the underline under the access key does not show up but then after I access something by hand, it sometimes shows up and is usable.

View 2 RepliesI'm starting to put in a database into my application, however I'm drawing a blank on how to share a database connection among the dozen or so different forms in my MDI application. I'm assuming this has to do with interfaces or something but I can't find any relevant examples anywhere. Can someone help me out? Ideally what I'd like is when the app is loaded up there is a call to a function in the forms loading area which establishes a single connection to the mdb, that I can then call via any form so I don't always have to open/close connections everytime I need to update the db?

I got the "infamous" 'Cannot Access Disposed Object.' error when I was attempting to open a form again after I had closed it. The fix (even though it's annoying), is easy enough; but again it's managed code problems and weirdness I still haven't changed my opinion that I won't be using MS .NET after this when I get my development box back to normal. BUT anyway the solution is self explanatory and very easy (and somewhat obvious) [Code]
the Application hiccups with a very nice message, after you close the form down and try to reopen it, that says: Cannot access Disposed object. So, my thought is that the "IsDisposed" property runs some sort of function to determine the Garbage Collection state and does a collection, or updates the request for the collection to be done.

I know how to access and play the system sounds using vb.net, and I also know that using the registry to save users' settings isn't ideal, however, The details of my project are rather long and drawn out, so I'll skip most of them Basically my program is loaded onto several computers on our network. The entire purpose of this program is to sound various alarms on different dates and times. Apparently I am to set up the program so that the different alarm sounds can be configured through Windows' control panel.
I can add the program into the appropriate part of the Registry in order to make that happen. The problem is reading the the information back. Under the name of the app, I have four different subkeys, each with the name of one of the alarms. Under those keys are two other subkeys, .default and .current. How do I get the sound from .current to play? For some weird reason I get null returned any time I try to read the key that I created.

View 10 RepliesI have noticed that whilst in the past using MS Access you could have a primary key field on a form and have it not visible. You could still use it for Dlookups etc using the value in the field no problem even though it is not visible. In Vb if i hide a textbox that is bound to a PK field in a datasource and try to use its value in code i get an error. Making the field visible again prevents the error. My goal is to use a PK bound textbox not visible to the user but still read its contents.
Also, what is the equivalent of a simple DLOOKUP in VS2010? EG. You have the PK and want to know, say 3 other pieces of information from the record based upon the PK you have.
I am trying to access a browser control in one of my forms from a module but keep getting an error. I attached a screen capture showing the code and the error balloon. The subroutine is public, and I am addressing the browser correctly. If I copy that same code into the "Main" form, and it works perfectly.

I have a application which displays a Image when a user enters a keyword, lets say user enters a word "Envelope", the application will go to Google Images and search for this keyword. Now google returns images as results, the application now needs to download the first result ( which is a image) and display it on a form ). Everything here is done without a browser but via my application.
