I have 3 forms. one main form with two buttons, that need to open one of the other two forms on clicking the button. Now when say button 2 is clicked then form 2 should open and also form form 2 person should be able to click back and come to main form.

For example , i have an integer of 2 , then it matches the integer with the tabindex , then it will disable the button2 .
I am fairly new to VB but really enjoying programming. I'm looking to create a counter that counts to 25 and loops back around again with a button control and another button control to stop it. So I press a button to start and another to stop and I want it to display the number it stopped on. Is this possible? and how do I do it if it is? I can figure out how to display the label and create a simple counter(that doesn't loop), but I'm unsure on the rest.

The thing that I can't figure out is that it looks OK in design mode, but at run time, the custom binding navigator shows 2 "Close" buttons. Only one of them will close the form when clicked, the other one doesn't function. See the attached image.
Is there any way to skip a the validating event of the active control when the close button of the form is clicked. It is very annoying when user wants to close the form, but due to the validate event of the active control, it asks for the valid input. The user is forced to give valid input to close the form. I have searched a lot for this on net but no any proper solution could be found.

View 4 RepliesWhat control should i use if i want a button with default text on it and when i press on it, it give a drop down menu that i can select different commands. I tried a combobox which seems to be very close to what i want. i set the dropdownstyle to dropdownlist so it looks like a button. but i cant seem to set a default text on the box and i dont want this text to be in the item list. also when i set the dropdownwidth to a value larger than the combobox width, it will align left.

I would like to recreate the behaviour of a button or command button on an user control. I need to layout a group of this user control on a form so user can select only one at a time. When users click on one of this user controls a selection frame is drawn to indicate that it has been selected. The problem I have is clearing the selection frame when other control is clicked on. How do buttons or command buttons do this? If you layout a group of buttons only one is highlighted. I have tried using different events like LostFocus and Leave and nothing seems to work.
View 3 RepliesI'm trying to make a label control transparent over a Panel control.However by setting the background colour of the label to Transparent, it actually sees right through to the form itself, not the panel as intended.
As an example we use a panel with a background as white, we make the label transparent, however it gets the form�s colour as blue.However, we are using a custom panel control and need the label to be transparent over the panel and not see the forms background.
I've created my own ascx control with button inside it. Now I'm using this control inside other control. (In my case it is a webpart). What I would like to do is program button.click logic from my custom control inside webpart

View 1 Repliesi have a splitter control on tab 2, a grid and a scheduler control on tab 3..looks fine...i save it....close the form...reopen the form, and the controls are all resized and moved around on me....and not for the better.
wierd thing is that when i run the app, the controls are placed properly, but design time is totally f&*ked up.I know this one isn't me. is it the tab control? should i just do toggle buttons at the top and show/hide my own panels? this is just too freaky to deal with. is there an easy work around for this?
Can I change my button control to toggle-button? Is there any simple way to change the button property to make it toggle button?

Main Form is my startup form and then 2 buttons on the form button 1 open form2 and main form hidden. button 2 closes and in the form 2 I have a textbox where I write some text and a button to save the text in a txt. File Once I've saved my text in txt. file so I click on a button that closes form2 and open main form My problem is that the button on the main form I should like to have button text is from the txt. file. And I do not know how I reload the button or form.

I have a Form which has several questions - each question is answered (bythe user) by choosing between 2 options - each option represented by a Radio Button. I have six questions and hence 12 radio buttons on my page but all of them seem to belong to the same group - i.e., the user can select only one of the 12 buttons whereas I want the user to be able to select one from every pair of radio buttons.
