Dec 13, 2010I created a function that retrieves information on which checkboxes are checked. It returns an array which the information coupled to the checking of those checkboxes. Those checkboxes and the matching textboxes are dynamically created at runtime in that same function. I'm pausing the application to wait for a button to be pressed. I'm trying to find a way to use btnDone.Click event directly because the code always reloops my function once more recreating the controls.

Right now I'm setting a create a boolean switch when btnSubDone is clicked. What I would like is for something along the lines of:

Jan 31, 2009I have a validating event for a txtbox called txtname. If the user tries to leave txtname for another txt box without entering their name a messagebox comes up giving an error. I have an exit button which will when clicked ask you if you really want to leave then you can choose yes or no. I can't seem to figure out how to allow the user to click the exit button while leaving the txtname blank so it would bypass the error message and only bring up the exit prompt. Here's what I have coded for the validating event and the exit event.

The number in the texbox is correct - proportion wise, but it won't set the button1.Left to this number. I'm sure this is because int is a Double where .Left is an integer?

The OnClick event gets triggered no problem the first time I click on the button. However if I then close the window the button code creates and then click on the button again, the OnClick code is not triggered.
If I click on a different button then click back on the 'problem' button a 2nd time, it does seem to trigger the code!

Transaction Error On Call To Commit() When Select Has Been Executed Inside Transaction?
May 9, 2011I get this error at the Commit of a transaction in a desktop application:
This OleDbTransaction has completed; it is no longer usable.
Other posts I have seen with similar error suggests this can occur if it takes a long time, or contains large amounts of data. This is not the case here.Logging tells me it takes 140 ms from Begin to Commit and about 10 commands executed inside the transaction.It is using an Oracle database.This class is a simplified version of my database class:

Is it not allowed to run a select inside a transaction like this? Or can it be done by running the transaction in a specific isolation level (I see that the BeginTransaction method has an optional parameter for doing this) ? ..Or some other sollution..? In my case, it was not a problem to move the select to run before the transaction started, but what if you need to run selects that must run inside the transaction?

I have one checking in a textbox Leave event. I will go check whether this ID is already exist in DB or not. If exist, I will prompt MSG box to user.
When I click on Close button while focus is on textbox, this textbox Leave Event will trigger first before Button Click event.
So, the form remains open without trigger Button Click event.
