I am in development mode VB 2005 Pro in WinXP, I have a command button called Button2, with some code in the Click event. I Cut the button and immediately Paste it onto a Group (ie. Frame) on the same form. The Button2 properties still say Name = Button2. I double click the button expecting to view the Click event code, but it opens a new Click event called HTML

I created a function that retrieves information on which checkboxes are checked. It returns an array which the information coupled to the checking of those checkboxes. Those checkboxes and the matching textboxes are dynamically created at runtime in that same function. I'm pausing the application to wait for a button to be pressed. I'm trying to find a way to use btnDone.Click event directly because the code always reloops my function once more recreating the controls.
Public Function GetArray(ByVal strDLFolder As String) As Array
If blnDone = False Then
Me.Show()
[CODE]..........
Right now I'm setting a create a boolean switch when btnSubDone is clicked. What I would like is for something along the lines of:
[CODE]...........
Is it possible to use events like this? If not is there a cleaner way for pausing the application to wait for a button click (one that doesn't run the entire function again)?

I have a validating event for a txtbox called txtname. If the user tries to leave txtname for another txt box without entering their name a messagebox comes up giving an error. I have an exit button which will when clicked ask you if you really want to leave then you can choose yes or no. I can't seem to figure out how to allow the user to click the exit button while leaving the txtname blank so it would bypass the error message and only bring up the exit prompt. Here's what I have coded for the validating event and the exit event.
Private Sub txtName_Validating(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs) Handles txtName.Validating
If IsNumeric(txtName.Text) Then

So I am playing around with the resize event. My form is 500 wide, my button.left is at 100. If I use:
Dim int As Double
int = button1.Left / Me.Width ' this = 0.2
'resize event
'Button1.Left = (int * Me.Width)
TextBox1.Text = (int * Me.Width).ToString
The number in the texbox is correct - proportion wise, but it won't set the button1.Left to this number. I'm sure this is because int is a Double where .Left is an integer?

I'm having a strange problem with the OnClick event. In an ArcGIS application using VB.Net, I have a button set up with the following
AddItem("CommandAnalyseResults")
The following module segment contains the OnClick event: Public NotInheritable Class CommandAnalyseResults
Inherits BaseTool <more code...>
Public Overrides Sub OnClick()
[Code]...
The OnClick event gets triggered no problem the first time I click on the button. However if I then close the window the button code creates and then click on the button again, the OnClick code is not triggered.
If I click on a different button then click back on the 'problem' button a 2nd time, it does seem to trigger the code!

I am trying to write a program using Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition that will automaticlay generate multiple Command Buttons that have different Texts and perform different commands.For example I want to generate Button_1 and Button_2 where Button_1 when clicked enters the value "1" into a textbox and Button_2 enters the value "2" into the same textbox.I know this can be simple done by using the designer and wirting the code in the Button_1_Click, but what I want to eventually achieve is for various buttons to be generated across different Tabs in a TabControl.So far I can create a button on a windows form using code, but the button has no purpose so command is assigned to it. The code i've used is listed below:

Starting from my understanding about Background worker control, I understands that the background worker runs the code in its "DoWork" method in a seperate thread, while ProgressChanged and RunWorkerCompleted events are executed on the main thread.In my senerio, I report the progress and under an specail condition my application displays a message box to the user in "ProgressChanged" method using MessageBox.Show(). and in "Run Worker Completed" event the application finalize some work. There the sequence is important, suppose that the message is of Yes or No type and finalization depends on it. Now when i run my application, the background worker triggers "ProgressChanged", but as soon as backgroundWorker's cancelAsync() is called the program leaves the current "ProgressChanged" method and executes "RunWorkerCompleted" code first.How can i make sure that the "Run Worker Completed" code executes only after the completion of ProgressChanged method.

how to launch forms across languages without compiling.
I have a solution with 2 projects. One is VB.NET and the other is C#. The solution will never be compiled. I am using it as a repository of examples on working with the DevXpress grid. I have a few VB.NET examples and one in C#. The demo runs the C# executable. I was wondering if there was a way to show the C# form from VB.NET in the same solution without going to the executable. This is how I am doing it now:
Private Sub Button7_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button7.Click
Dim info As System.Diagnostics.ProcessStartInfo
[Code]....
I tried linking it but either I did something wrong, don't know how to access it or it doesn't work across languages and didn't generate an error.
P.S. If anyone else uses this grid I can post the code, it is mainly for working with combobox columns. I just don't think anyone here uses the grid.

I am trying to activate Rosetta Stone on a button click (button4). It opens but gives me an error. 2123 is the error code. I guess this may require knowledge of Rosetta Stone more than VB but I have found no luck searching google. Is there alternative code to what I'm trying to do?
Code:
Public Class Form1
Private Sub Chrome_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Chrome.Click

I was wondering if there was a way to launch a string of programs from a button.I want to be to launch, say 6 programs. Once the first one is done, the code has to know that the first program is done doing it's automated process and then continue.In VB 6, I used the Shell Execute command to launch a program, but it doesn't work in Vb.Net and I wouldn't even know how to make it launch consecutive programs.

What I would like to do is create a command button that launches an email from outlook attaching the current word document to a set email address. I'm not fussed if the word document is saved or not as it is only the email receipent that needs it, likewise I don't mind if the code instructs the email to send of just opens it ready to be sent.

I am running Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express. I created a simple program that is nothing more than dozens of Windows Forms that are linked together by the various clickable buttons I put on each form. The program is like a "book" with several pages, and you jump to a specific page by clicking on specific buttons on the current page ("Windows Form").
My question is, how do I change my program so that when it is launched, instead of just 1 Windows Form opening, the program opens up several Windows Forms (of my choosing) automatically? In other words, instead of my "book" (VB program) opening "page 1," when I run it, I want it so that pages 4, 7, 8, 10, and 15, are "opened" whenever I run my "book."
Is there some code I need to insert into each Windows Form I wanted opened automatically when the program is loaded? Or is this a MS VB 2010 Express environment option I need to set?

Why Mouse Click is not triggered? Similiarly I Did the same for Mouse Enter and Mouse Move for a particular button, in this case both the events are triggered.

It's probably the most basic of things, but all I can find is how to launch a program, and not with the interactions I desire. Any tips as to the terms to use to search for answers, or links to topics regarding questions similar to mine, would be very appreciated. I have a wealth of info to read through, but I could use your knowledge to save myself time.Here is what I am trying to do:
Use a Button (A) to Launch a Prompt where User Selects Directory Path to an executable Program. The Selection is to be Persistent after the initial selection (saved in a settings file i assume?), and the Selected Path (or just "programname.exe") is to be Displayed in a Text Field (B). Launch Selected and Indicated Program via a Launch Button (C)
