Nov 25, 2011I have am using a Twitter streaming class library, and would like to update a listbox when a new tweet is posted. I have it all set up to the point where a message box will show when a tweet comes in, but when I try to insert this tweet into a listbox I get this error: The calling thread cannot access this object because a different thread owns it. I don't know what I need to do in order to insert this tweet.

C# - Accessing Office Word Object Model Through Asp.net Results In "failed Due To The Following Error: 80070005 Access Is Denied."
Aug 13, 2010I have developed a website that allows users to upload office documents then uses the office object model to convert the document to an HTML file that it then displays in an iFrame. I have, of course, included references to Office.interop.word, and the site works fine on my development machine. When I uploaded it to my production server the site functions fine until I try to upload a document. I initially got a similar error that said "COM object not registered". I realized that Word wasn't installed on my production server. So I installed word and now when the server tries to access the word object model I receive the following error:
Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046} failed due to the following error: 80070005 Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))
I searched the registry for the corresponding CLSID and found a corresponding folder. I added full control to the IUSR_ account and due to the persistence of the error I eventually added full control to "everyone" and ensured these permissions inherited down to the rest of the folder. I then added full control to IUSR_ and again eventually added full control to "everyone" to my microsoft office folder.
I don't know what other permissions to grant and where in order to make this "Access is denied" error go away. I must be granting them in the wrong place, because as far as I know I can't be any more permissive than "Everyone" "Full Control".

Jun 11, 2009i want to have some web browsers which navigate wile the thread is running and my problem is that I want to use a web browser object from .net in a thread. when i put a webbrowser object in my form, called webbrowser1, i cant reach it in the thread's operation(start thread). when i type webbroeser1 in the thread it doesn't undrestand what webbrowser1 is.

Sep 26, 2011I have an exceptionhandler function that basically just writes a line to a textbox on Form1. This works fine when being run normally but the second I use a thread to start a process it cannot access the property. No exception is thrown but no text is written to the textbox:

i would be calling sub using SharedSubs.Console("stringstring") when this is called from the ui thread it works fine but when its called from anyother thread or class its does nothing,ive confirmed it going thru this code but its not displaying anything in the textbox and its not thru an exception due to delegates either which i figured it would.

Is this expected? Is it documented anywhere? I couldn't find any references to it.It also seems to only do this the first time My.MySettings.Default is accessed, which means that a workaround might be to touch the property to initialize it before attempting to set the thread's CurrentPrincipal. Would there be any undesirable side effects to doing that?
VS 2008 Accessing Condition Of Checkboxes Within A Backgroundworker Thread
Sep 8, 2009I have a form with Check Boxes on it and a second form that holds functions and a Backgroundworker.When a button is pressed on the first form, the second form loads and then runs the functions that relate to the appropriate Check Boxes.Doing it this way causes the second form to become inaccessible. I decided to run my code in the Backgroundworker's DoWork event and then call the RunWorkerAsync method in my form's Activated event. Before using the Backgroundworker, everything worked fine and now it doesn't.I assume the issue is with the Backgroundworker not being able to access controls on another thread.In debug mode,it automatically throws an exception, but doesn't error out when using the Release version, making me assume it's a legal call. But, if it's a legal call, then why can't I access the controls?

Attempting to free an in-use RCW can cause corruption or data loss." I am not sure if the RCW-error is related to my problem but I was having this error last January 25. It appears when I am ending my application. I ignored it. The next morning when I resumed coding for my application, the changes I am making does not appear at run-time anymore. Whatever GUI changes I make in my application (at design time), it does not make any effect any longer when I am running the application. What is causing this? I am so afraid if I have to restart my application from the scratch. I have gone far.

Nov 6, 2011I have created a list of another class and loaded the list with data. using breakpoints I can see that the data is loading and visible in my form page. However, when I attempt to access the list using a For Each loop, I get an error saying that "Value of type Customer can not be converted to Integer"I am trying to follow examples from tutorials on accessing list elements, but they are never lists of objects, so I am not sure what I am doing wrong.

Mar 3, 2009OK - for starters - I'm not even sure that the title of this thread accurately describes what I want to do - but I had trouble verbalizing it. So I will give this a try: In my application, I have a custom object, call it myObject. In addition, I have another custom object called myObjectList which is basically a List(Of myObject).
Up until this point, all of the functions that I have been working with in my BLL and DAL have been shared - I haven't needed a specific instance of my object thus far. I currently need to write a function that finds a particular myObject within myObjectList and returns to me myObject. I know that the List(Of T) has a find method, but from what I have read so far - I don't think it is what I want (doesn't it return true or false? -and also, do I need an existing object to pass to it to see if it is in the list?)

C# Accessing Properties Of An Object From A Collection Class?

I am trying to loop through a collection class which is a collection of data classes but I can't seem to get the actual values out of the data class properties(find the correct code to do so). I have a method that loops through the collection class(Contacts) and saves each record(Contact). I am using reflection because my method will not know if it is Contacts class or a Customer class and so forth. Here is my code in VB(watered down)

The C# code keeps returning null. In my locals window I can see the proprties on the class on objClass and the value of the propery but I can seem to figure out how to access it through code. I used the DictionaryBase because that seems to closely match would I need to do. My data class(Contact) has a bunch or properties that match the field names in the database of the Contact Table. After I get the propInfo variable set I then set up my SQLParameter with the fieldname, datatype etc and then set the value to the propInfo.value.

May 8, 2011I have to make a VB project for one of my college Co-Sci classes. However, I am having issues doing what I think is logically possible. Part of our project entails creating a user defined class, then create a form that then instantiates an instance of the object type. After that we are to list the item in a listbox. That is all well and good and works fine.
What I need help with is looping through each object in the listbox, getting some data from the object, then moving to the next.
I have been trying something similar to c++. For example, an object contained in a c++ array can be accessed like this:
array[index].someObjectMethod().
How would someone do something similar to that for objects contained in a VB listbox? I imagine it starts something like this:
myListBox.Items(index).

The reason my json is structured like this is that the webmethod that I'm calling via jquery is returning a dictionary. If it's impossible to work with the above, what do I need to change about the way I'm returning the data?
