I'm working on a little app for a small community online radio station and want to have a menu in the menu strip for the stations website, twitter profile and facebook profile. I'm new to VB and haven't figured out what I need to input for the click settings.

View 3 RepliesI have a simple web for that has a dropdown list and a button on the form.The dropdown list is bound to a table in my database and holds three values with idents between 1 and 3 (Weekly,Monthly, Please Select).I have set my datasource to pull back item 3 (Please Select) as the first item in the dropdown list to prompt the user to select an option. Items 1 & 2 have data assigned to them and this pulls back the relevent data for these options.
Here is my problem. I need to hide my button when the page loads until the user selects item 1 or 2 and would like the button to be hidden of option 3 is selected. I have tried to complete this in my page load event and the code for the dropdown list but i cannot seem to get this to work.

If my form does not have focus and I click on a menu item (think File, Edit, View) the sub-menu does not appear. All it does it return focus to the form. I have to first click to give the form focus and then click on the menu. Most other programs do not behave this way. Is there anything that can be done to change it.

I have 10 textboxes on a windows form. Each textbox has the same contextmenu. Say they are named textbox1 - textbox10. What I need is when I right click in one of the textboxes I need to capture the name of the textbox in which the contextmenu was called. So if I am over textbox2 and right click for contextmenu then select menu item #2 in the click event I need to capturethe textbox control I called the contextmenu from (textbox2) so I can send that name to a function to process my other code.

When I'm NOT using a context menu, I can detect a right-click using the mouse click event.BUT how do I detect which cell that's beiing right-clicked on in a datagrid WHEN a context menu is being used (as the mouse-click doesn't seem to fire when a context menu is used - so I assume that the menu mechanism consumes the right-click message and doesn't pass it on so to speak).I have tried to manually call the context menu on a right-click, but then the context menu comes up at the wrong location.Rather than send a long listing of my multinedia program so far - here's something I tried as a separate proglet. Im making a "offline viewer" which uses saved webpages.I'm using a web browser and a tree-viewer. Currently when you click a link for a file/ installer (for example if you click on the "The Gimp" installer link) you have to right click, and then "save target as..." and then save it (so you would then two copys of the same file) AND then open it.Is there way i could have the file open when the link click? (Again, for example, the running of The Gimp installer apon clicked, or the opening of the video file when clicked)

When they hover over the items, a nice highlight color fades in and then out when they leave the item. Anyways, it looks very nice, but I don't want to have to use a "page" style. (e.g., page 1 contains 6 items, click "Next" to go to the next page of 6 itesm) I'd like to allow the user to scroll through the items. I'll develop my own GUI for the scrollbar, however I have absolutely no idea where to start on actually fitting all of the items into like a 400x200 box, and allowing the user to scroll up and down through the items. The items are actual controls (e.g. each item contains a picturebox, a couple of labels, a couple of buttons collectively).

We can prevent users from sharing the program using HWID authentication, but nothing prevents them from using a packet scanner to get the URL of the webpage. We thought about user-agent authentication, which we will implement, but user-agents can easily be spoofed.

I have an application which displays thumbnails of files in a folder. I want to add the feature where the users can right click on a file and get that windows context menu. You know the one. It allows you to choose an application from a list to open the file with.

how to remove a Folder created in Users Program Menu under File System, when an application is uninstalled? During installation of the Application, a link is created at the users desktop and also in Users Program Menu. However during uninstallation the link for the Users Desktop and User Program Menu is removed, but the Folder created in the Users Program Menu remains.
