how to remove a Folder created in Users Program Menu under File System, when an application is uninstalled? During installation of the Application, a link is created at the users desktop and also in Users Program Menu. However during uninstallation the link for the Users Desktop and User Program Menu is removed, but the Folder created in the Users Program Menu remains.

I did a lot of research, and I found a function that is supposed to grant full access to every users of a folder and its children. However if right-click properties on my folder, the access is unchanged. ow should I grant full access to all users of a folder and its children (I don't care who created it, all users should be able to read and write to that folder)?

When you've finished a program and you're trying to distribute it to the mass public. How is the best way to go about doing this? What sites would you post your program on and getting the word out that there is a new program on the block and it does xyz. This is directed to freeware so there wouldn't be any advertising.

Ive created a shell context menu dll using the great example at [url]...
This dll can be included in a vb.net setup project and installs ok but upon uninstall Windows prompts the user to close explorer.exe for the uninstall to complete. If the user clicks ok then the windows GUI is lost and the user either needs to reboot or know how to run task manager and startup another instance of explorer.exe to get their desktop back.
Does anyone know how to go about uninstalling a context menu dll which is currently in use by explorer without ending the explorer.exe process.
I cannot figure out how to get this call to work.I have searched EVERYWHERE.MSDN is no help at all and the only thing I can find is this vb6 code that doesn't work in .net.I tried to convert it over but I've had no luck.Specifically I'm trying to get the path of the "All Users" Desktop and the "All Users" Start Menu.It would rock if anyone could help me out with this one.

What are the main differences from each version Also I deployed a project and it installs on the user computer with the name I installed VB 2005 with, not the name I use in project set up?? In order to better support problems with this application is has been suggested in the past to uninstall it and do a fresh re-install. However, in investigation it was determined that the uninstall does not consider all installed objects and does not uninstall the CD install.Can the uninstall functionality be modified to catch the other instances of this application and also uninstall them?

I'm developing an application that adds .class files to a .jar using Ionic.Zip (Found Here) but this library does not support removing files from a zip, only adding them. Is there another free, open-source API that would allow me to add and remove files from an archive?
For those of you who don't know, .jar files work the same as .zip files, except their executable java files. The .jar i'm adding to and removing from, the developer said that anyone can do such things with it if they want.

When they hover over the items, a nice highlight color fades in and then out when they leave the item. Anyways, it looks very nice, but I don't want to have to use a "page" style. (e.g., page 1 contains 6 items, click "Next" to go to the next page of 6 itesm) I'd like to allow the user to scroll through the items. I'll develop my own GUI for the scrollbar, however I have absolutely no idea where to start on actually fitting all of the items into like a 400x200 box, and allowing the user to scroll up and down through the items. The items are actual controls (e.g. each item contains a picturebox, a couple of labels, a couple of buttons collectively).

I think that the folder "C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersShared Folder" would do the trick. How do I find the path to that folder, regardless of the OS used (Xp / Vista / 7) and regardless of the Windows language (With a french Windows, this folder is called "C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersDocuments partag").

If I remove the paths and execute my .exe from the AppDatalocal folder where the settings.ini file is it works fine, but I don't want have to run the program from there. I have an application that I'm creating that uses VB6 for the maintenance programs, and visual studio 2005 to create the reports. At work we use reporting services to host the reports, but in my application I want to run the report from a menu within the application, not in reporting services. (A) Is this possible? I think I've read about a report viewer that can be embedded into .net applications. If I create a menu system in .net, that shells to execute the maintenance programs that are from vb6, or fires off the report viewer, does this sound feasible? The application is supposed to run connected to their SQL 2005 server via a VPN; I get blank looks when I ask them if they have reporting services installed...
