i have 3 Combobox and 1 Bindingsource in my form, i want to add the Bindingsource to the combobox's datasource like this

So i want to ask if someone can help me make the 'DataSource' member of 'System.Windows.Forms.Control' or are there any other way to add datasource for all the comboboxs without manual adding each one.
Is there a problem with changing the column length in table and using comboboxes that display a partial list of the records from that table.I had a column(Name) that was 18 chars long. I would then display only a subset of those names in a combobox by not listing records where a column called privileges was set to X. This and other uses of combobox worked fine till I increased the column length to 24. The combobox no longer filters on the privileges field though when I select the column priviliges after my selection it will display the value X.
View 1 RepliesI've gotten to a point where I'm trying to add a ComboBox to a UserControl, and to populate it from a collection which exists in code.
I've been getting along pretty much on monkey-see-monkey-do coding for the most part; copying and adapting existing code in order to get the next stage working, but this DataSource stuff has me stumped. I've been through a whole bunch of articles on MSDN this morning and am no closer to understanding than I was when I started.
Let me go through a few of the things that are messing with me, and hopefully you guys will be able to point me in the right direction:
1) None of the [UserControlName].vb files contains any code. All of the code for the UserControls is stored in [UserControlName]Model.vb files, and then code of the following sort is used:

2) I'm pretty sure I only want a Static Source for the moment, as the items in the ComboBox aren't going to change during execution, at this time. Problem is, all the articles I can find about this are gigantic, complex things about creating XML readers, and populating DataGridViews and sorting data, and on and on and on. I just want to declare that I'm using a frealing List! A List I've already created in code.
So, yeah, I basically need to use a Public Property ComboBoxLines As List(Of String) from a class which isn't the same class as the UserControl itself as the DataSource for a ComboBox.
I am converting a VB 6 app to VB.Net. In the vb 6 version I have a table that contains roughly 80 fields. Over that table the users currently have a single form which gives 12 diferent views. Each view is placed on a different tab, which, although giving a distinct set of fields per tab, also leads to a ton of duplicated code. Changing the underlying table is not an option.
What I would like to do is to use a single datasource (containing all 80 fields), a single datagridview on the form, and have a combobox act as the filter choice for the differing views. Does my solution seem like the right way to handle this? If so, I'm not sure I know which controls would best be used.

I have a form that with a list of text boxes. My target is simply binding these controls to an XML file so that whenever the file contents are changed externally, the text box values change dynamically. I will have an external application edit the XML file and overwrite the existing one.

I'm trying to fill the combo box with a DataSource from an ArrayList and then selecting an item in the combo box based off a value from a property.Problem is, the combo box items don't get bound until after the Form_Load event has finished and the form is visible. I have checkedlistbox on my windows form which is binded to datasource,I do check the items in checkedlistbox based on some criteria,When user uncheck some items I want to save the records, but in Checked Items collection still I'm getting items as checked, which are unchecked. checked list box still remembers the previous checked items

I have a base form and I am trying to get the DataSource of the ActiveControl if the control is a datagridview.What I have so far is:

During Loading a form, I bind a datasource property of the DGV to the bindingsource, and then set the fillweight property of the DGV columns. But, after form being shown, earlier set properties are being reseted to default = 100.
The procedure is like:
1. TestForm.Show()
2. TestForm_Load(...) Hnadles MyBase.Load
DGV.DataSource = bindingsource
DGV.columns(0).fillweight = 80
DGV.columns(1).fillweight = 120
3. Me.close() (Closing the form which called TestForm.Show()
And now I have visible a TestForm with well binded datasouce seeing all the columns, but their fillweith property was beeing reseted...
My form closes whenever I insert an object that has a data bound in it. The object I'm trying to insert is a textbox from the data source window (drag n drop). I've checked on the database and that the table has records in it.

I've been working on a project the last couple of day with the help of a lot of you out there. I've more or less finished the design of the interfase, but there are stange this happening with the form. I can say much about what is wrong because I dont understand it, but I would like to. I have added the form Class code and the Designer Code, is that enough or is more required? Theres a msgbox that popup in the form Load event which I placed there to see what I could learn about the GraphicsBuffer.

I have a combobox that has a list of over 3000 vendors. The edit list that comes with combobox will only hold a little over 1700 lines, so I used the combobox1.items.add to the (form1 events - load) code. Now I have access to all 3000 + vendor names in the ComboBox1. But if I design an add vendor form, how would I code it, so the vendor would be added to the bottom of the items.add list in the code?
