I don't know how to add colored text to a richtextbox.
To make already existing text colored, I have tried things like:
RichTextBox1.SelectionStart = RichTextBox1.Find("colored word")
RichTextBox1.SelectionColor = Color.Blue
RichTextBox1.SelectionLength = 0
..so it will change the color of the found word.
The problem is, when the "colored word" exists multiple times in the textbox, it will never change theirs color. It only searches for the first "colored word" and it wont affect the others.
It would be even better when someone knows how to directly add colored text instead of changing it when it's added.
I am opening an exe that launches in a hidden cmd window, and redirecting the text to a RichTextBox on a form. The problem is that the status messages in the cmd window are in color, but the redirected text in the RichTextBox has no color information and show as black on white. However, all the status messages in the cmd window have headers that could be parsed in some way so I can add color to them for my RichTextbox. For example, a message in the cmd window might read: [Warning] No settings file was found, using default values instead. This message is in Yellow in the cmd window.

View 2 RepliesI have a form with a Textbox, RichTextBox, and a CopyToolStripButton.When I select text in the TextBox control, I can right click the mouse to get a menubox (cut, copy, paste, delete, select all) but when I select text in the RichTextBox and right click the mouse I do not get a menubox.Is this simply a difference in the controls, or do I need to enable a property on the RichTextBox to get this functionality?
This difference between Textbox and RichTextBox is evident even without the CopyToolStripButton code, so I am guessing it might have something to do with inherent or default properties of the controls themselves.At any rate,I would like to get this funcionality for the RichTextBox control as well.

I have a function which iterates through the TextBoxes in my form (and its child controls) and adds each TextBox's name and text to an ArrayList using a structure I called valTxtBox.

Now, the problem is that if I call Clear() for valsTxtBox in the getctrls() function, not all the elements get added to the ArrayList. However, if I don't call Clear() it works just fine. BTW, I'm using VS2008 express which might be relevant.
