I am trying to add up numbers in a listbox.I know how to add them up and make them display on a messagebox but what I cant do is add the numbers in one listbox and then add the numbers in another listbox and subtract the total of the numbers from 2nd listbox from the total of the 1st BUT instead of displaying them on a message box how would I output those results into a label?This is the code I have for outputting the totals of a listbox onto a message box:

I am starting to feel completely dumb when it comes to VB.Net coding. I am using Visual Studio 2010 and am trying to compare the numbers in 2 listboxes. If an item from list A matches an item from list B, I want it to add that item to List C. Once it has added the item to List C, remove those searched items from list A & B. Continue until it runs out of numbers to check.

I have a datagridview named Partcotdatagridview. In this datagridview, I have two columns. The first column has a combo box with some names in the data source such as John, David, Alex. The second column is designated for amounts. Each person will have different entries in the datagrid I will select a name and enter an amount for that person. I would like to display the total for each person in 3 different labels in a different form.
ok the problem is that when a button is click I want it to add 1 (+1) to a textbox. This process will keep on going on till I tell it not to...How would I just keep a running total of whats happening in the textbox...What I mean to say is that if I pressed the button 10 times, instead of it showing:111111111 I want it to automatically add the numbers up to show 10 instead.
i have the following piece of code: txtGrandTotal.Text = Val(textbox1.Text) + Val(textbox2.Text) + Val(textbox3.Text) If the numbers entered into textboxes1,2 and 3 are positive integers it all works fine, but if for example the following happens i get unexpected results textbox1 has the number 3, textbox2 has -1 and textbox3 has 6. I expect the result to be 8 (3-1=2 + 6) = 8 Instead I get 14. I understand the concept of precedent but how do I set it if I don't know if the number entered into textbox is positive or negative?
I have a tab control, that the user can add/remove tabs as they please. It is an inventory manager, and the tabs are the departments. Everytime a user adds a department, a new listview is cloned and added to the page. Upon form load, i need it to go through the tab pages, and query the database for items matching the department their in. In other words, if the Department column in the inventory database, matches the Tab Pages text, add it to the listview inside that particular page. I've tried several things, but they all end up buggy. Either it adds them all to the first listview, or it skips every other page, or worse - doesn't add anything at all. Here is the code I have, could anyone help me figure out how to:

I have an enum that I want to give some methods. I thought about changing the enum to a structure so I could add properties, but then the enum is a value inside the structure (not the structure itself), so this would affect comparisons and such. (For example, instead of writing EnumVariable=EnumConstant, Now it is StructureVariable.EnumValue=EnumConstant). At least, this is my understanding of it. It seems awkward to have to do this for such a simple scenario, so is it possible give enums properties, yet still have them treated as before? I've thought maybe I need to create a new valuetype from scratch, but I've never done that before.
I'm making a program as part of a college assignment that requires my to add up the contents of an array. Now the array has 20 places, and the only method I know of atm is:a + b + c + d + e etc...They are all different numbers so I can't just do a * 20, I need a more code efficient way of adding all these numbers up, is this possible?

When the button is clicked, it gathers the list of numbers from the test.txt file and displays it in the textbox. Now what I want to do is make a label so that after it streams the data and displays it in it's multi-line text box, is for every 10 and 1 displayed on one line, it will subtract 1 from the number in the label. I've made a user control and have added some internal labels inside it. In the User control class I'm trying to handle the mouse events so that: When the mouse enters the User-Control the background of the User-Control turns white - using MouseEnter event. When the mouse leaves the User-Control the background of the User-Control turns grey - using MouseLeave event. However as soon as I move the mouse over the internal labels it triggers the MouseLeave event. I don't want it to do that, because the mouse hasn't left the bounds of the User-Control! So, how do I get it to not trigger the MouseLeave event when the mouse is still internal to the User-Control?

I have an issue in VB6 that is giving me a major headache. When using a variable defined as a single data type, VB6 will add random numbers to the number i assign to it.
For instance I have a single variable that is manually set to 0.3. Then i create another single variable and set it to 0.25. I have the program add 0.01 to the second variable until it equals the first. But they never equal. I couldn't figure out why when both were showing they equaled 0.3.

In my below forms, the user select a name from the combo box list and enters an amount for the name selected. The user can enter as many entries. Every time the total button is clicked, I would like the total for each person to be display on the labels.
I have an asp.net usercontrol which represents a "popup" dialog. Basically, it's a wrapper for the jQuery UI dialog which can be subclassed to easily make dialogs. As part of this control, I need to inject a div into the page the control is used on, either at the very top or very bottom of the form so that when the popup is instantiated, it's parent is changed to this div. This allows "nested" popups without the child popup being trapped inside the parent popup.
The trouble is, I can't find a safe way to inject this div into the page. A usercontrol doesn't have a preinit event, so I can't do it there, and calling Page.Form.Controls.Add(...) in Init, Load or PreRender causes the standard exception "The control collection cannot be modified during DataBind, Init, Load, PreRender or Unload phases."
I thought I had found a solution by using. ScriptManager.RegisterClientScriptBlock(Page, Me.GetType, UniqueID + "_Dialog_Div", containerDiv, False) which seemed to work well normally, but recently a coworker tried putting an UpdatePanel inside the dialog and now she's getting the error "The script tag registered for type 'ASP.controls_order_viewzips_ascx' and key 'ctl00$ContentBody$OViewZips_Dialog_Div' has invalid characters outside of the script tags: . I am making an invoicing application. I have a label (lblCost) inside of a UserControl (InvoiceEntry) inside of a FlowLayoutPanel (pnlEntries). InvoiceEntry represents a line item on the invoice, and pnlEntries is the "body" of the invoice. pnlEntries can hold several InvoiceEntry controls.
I am attempting to sum all of the lblCost values from each InvoiceEntry control to make a subtotal, and I want that subtotal to change automatically if costs are changed (e.g., a change in quantities being ordered). Is there a way to handle when the lblCost.Text property of any of the InvoiceEntry controls contained within pnlEntries changes?
