Adding Numbers To Text (for-next Loop)?

I have a text file (*.txt) with a name in each line, like this:
Joe
Dane
Lisa
Kelly
Now I want each name added with a number from 1 to 99.
Like this:
Joe0
Joe1
Joe2
[code]....
I have folowing code:
For n As Integer = 0 To (numbernames) - 1
strContents = objReader.ReadLine()
For i As Integer = 0 To 100 - 1
[code]....
With this code all happens ok and a new text file is created with the desired name-list with added numbers.The only problem is that the last name doesn't get a number added from 0 till 99 but for example 0 till 17.

I've got Visual Studio 2010 and I am looking to clean up my code technique, since I've taught myself and now I'm taking classes.
I'm trying to use a For...Next Loop so that I can fill a text box with sequential numbers. For some reason, all I can get in the text box is the last number and I feel that at this point I'm probably overthinking it...
All I want is on the button push the text box shows:

I am trying to understand the do until loop when adding numbers along with a variable to a new line in a textbox, incrementing each time. My current example is very simple but only returns the first value. I require the output to be incremented automatically, so I thought a do until loop would be best.

I have written a function that gets the alexa ranking of a given url, now this function works perfectly but I want to loop through a ListView of urls and grab the alexa rank of each item (url) with my function.The code works great if I put a MessageBox in the loop to test that the function is returning a value but when I remove the MessageBox the loop does not work.I need it to loop through adding each result without a MessageBox stop in each loop.

I am making a program, where the user enters 6 numbers in 6 different text boxes, and it displays the larger of those 6 numbers. But I also want to make it where if the user enters a string value (like S for instance) in the text boxes, it gives an message and says "please enter the numbers again" and the user gets to enter the 6 numbers again. But when I do try to do that, it gives an error message saying conversion from "w/e the user entered" to Double is not valid. If the user just enters the numbers, it works fine. However, I am trying to make it if the user does enter non numeric value, it gives a message window and the user can reenter the numbers again.

This is where I am trying to use IsNumeric to show a message if a user does not enter a string so the user can renter the numbers again, but when the user does enter a string value (say in textbox 1) it gives me an error message saying conversion from "S" to 'double' is not valid.

Then right here this is where I have my series of ifs statements, this part works fine, it displays the largest numbers of the 6 textboxes every time. Error free.

I know there are easier ways to do these with arrays and stuff. But I am not there yet. I am still learning about ifs and stuff.

I cannot seem to make my for next loop work for a class project. Essentially, I have a list box that is populated with strings of numbers. I am required to use a loop to sum the total of the numbers in the list box and display them in a label. I chose to use a For Next loop. However, it's not working. I'm getting an error when I try to convert the strings to decimals.[code]

I am trying to make a loop to calculate the total costs for 12 days of costs. It has to compound sort of though. I need the total = cost for day 1(includes day 1) + cost for day 2(includes day 1 and 2) + cost for day 3(includes day 1, 2, and 3).....up to day 12. I have a for/next loop in my array, but it calculates the total for 12 days, but I need it to add as explained above. I have been strategizing and the program needs V= day 1 then add V to T. Then V needs to clear and then loop again so V=day 1 + day 2 then add V to T. Then V needs to clear and loop again so V=day 1 + day 2 + day 3 then add V to T and clear V.........up until all days are added together. I am trying to loop through a dataset and process n numbers of records at a time.For example lets say I have around 240 records in my dataset. I need to loop through the dataset and then create a new batch of 50 records. so for the dataset which has 240 records I want to create 6 batches. Out of these 6 batches, 5 would have 50 records and and last batch would have 40 records.

I have a datagridview named Partcotdatagridview. In this datagridview, I have two columns. The first column has a combo box with some names in the data source such as John, David, Alex. The second column is designated for amounts. Each person will have different entries in the datagrid I will select a name and enter an amount for that person. ok the problem is that when a button is click I want it to add 1 (+1) to a textbox. This process will keep on going on till I tell it not to...How would I just keep a running total of whats happening in the textbox...What I mean to say is that if I pressed the button 10 times, instead of it showing:111111111 I want it to automatically add the numbers up to show 10 instead.

i have the following piece of code: txtGrandTotal.Text = Val(textbox1.Text) + Val(textbox2.Text) + Val(textbox3.Text) If the numbers entered into textboxes1,2 and 3 are positive integers it all works fine, but if for example the following happens i get unexpected results textbox1 has the number 3, textbox2 has -1 and textbox3 has 6. I expect the result to be 8 (3-1=2 + 6) = 8 Instead I get 14. I understand the concept of precedent but how do I set it if I don't know if the number entered into textbox is positive or negative?

I have attached the form in initial state. What you don't see in the initial state is 10 hidden labels. I want the loop(which I am calling as a function??) to compute the numbers and display in the labels. Example, if I input 1 for the first term, 3 for the second term and 4 for the total terms, the first 4 labels should become visible and have in them one solution each:
1 - 1
2 - 3
3 - 4
4 - 7

I'm making a program as part of a college assignment that requires my to add up the contents of an array. Now the array has 20 places, and the only method I know of atm is:a + b + c + d + e etc...They are all different numbers so I can't just do a * 20, I need a more code efficient way of adding all these numbers up, is this possible?

When the button is clicked, it gathers the list of numbers from the test.txt file and displays it in the textbox. Now what I want to do is make a label so that after it streams the data and displays it in it's multi-line text box, is for every 10 and 1 displayed on one line, it will subtract 1 from the number in the label. For every 2,3,4,5,6 I want it to add 1. For every 7,8,9 it will not add anything.For those who can tell I'm a blackjack fan and I was curious on how to keep a running count in a label from a multi line list of numbers.

I am trying to add up numbers in a listbox.I know how to add them up and make them display on a messagebox but what I cant do is add the numbers in one listbox and then add the numbers in another listbox and subtract the total of the numbers from 2nd listbox from the total of the 1st BUT instead of displaying them on a message box how would I output those results into a label?This is the code I have for outputting the totals of a listbox onto a message box:

I have a Repeater... And it has a Weight field. the weight it displayed in a textbox. I have this piece of code:
lblTotalWeightCalc.Text += NewDV.Item(i)("Weight")
This will get the Weight and display it in my label. But when I select more than one item (which will have two weights) it will show: For Example:
Item #1 : Weight = 20
Item #2: Weight= 50
The total Weight= 2050 (it doesn't add them together) I need them to be added together....

I have an issue in VB6 that is giving me a major headache. When using a variable defined as a single data type, VB6 will add random numbers to the number i assign to it.
For instance I have a single variable that is manually set to 0.3. Then i create another single variable and set it to 0.25. I have the program add 0.01 to the second variable until it equals the first. But they never equal. I couldn't figure out why when both were showing they equaled 0.3.
