I set it up where the user checks a radio buttonto choose 1-4 players. I want it to display cards for how ever many are playing (1 card for 1 player.4 cards for 4 players) when they hit the "Let's Play" button. I can make it open for one player be writing.[code]but I can't figure out how to open more forms for more players.

For example, files ABC and XYZ are moved into a newly created folder named ABC and XYZ. I want to advance the code to allow slightly different file names to go into a common folder. Example, I want file ABC_rock, ABC_soil, and ABC_water to be put into a folder named ABC still, AND file XYZ_rock, XYZ_soil, and XYZ_water to be put into a folder named XYZ. I do not want a separate folder created for ABC_rock, ABC_soil, and ABC_water.

Am currently piecing my programm together and working on structure. My plans will have me running multiple forms,and my question is this. When I have ,say ,on form1, a "TextBox1" and on another form a TextBox with the same name,will I have conflicts when I access data across forms. Should I be taking care to make sure textboxes and buttons names aren't being repeated,or will VB know what I want?
View 11 RepliesI have an application with a few forms. The main form, and 2 others. When I click a button on the main form, one of the others display "attached". When I move the main form or one of the other forms around the 'attached" forms follow. The problem is that sometimes if you have another application on top of one of the forms, and click the other form, both forms dont come to the front. How can I make that happen? I've already tried things like on bringtofront for all the forms but I also don't want to take focus away and if I do that it ends up in a loop of grabbing focus via activation.

View 7 RepliesI am developing an application having multiple screens appearing one after another using vb.net. My requirement is to bring some screens (windows form) in front of the user to take input and some of the forms can work in background (behind other applications) as they are only progress showing forms.
I tried Me.active(), Me.BringToFront(), Me.Focus(), and also some of the APIs like GetForegroundWindow(),SetForegroundWindow(), ShowWindow() etc, but failed to do so.
I tried another set of instructions
Me.TopMost = True
Me.Active()
Me.TopMost = False
Its works for me but once my form come in front, no other application can appear on top untill the my form is selected manually. Although I tried Me.Select() and Me.Focus() after above mentioned set of instructions but failed.
I try codes and search around but still can't find it.
That when I click to add new child form, the newest child form always appear after the old one[code]....
When a messagebox pops up, how can I bring a form infront of the messagebox (or switch betwen different forms) and then bring the messagebox back again again if I want to click OK button to proceed with the remaining code?

I have an project which was written in VB6 and made use of the Spread3.0 component to display multiple large data from database in spreadsheet. My objective is to convert this project into a VB.NET current version which would not use the third party component but can possibly use a freeware that does similar if not all the functionality.
My question is, are there any freeware that is available in .NET for such spreadsheet-like manipulation of data programatically? I have come across dsoFramer but this only allows the display of the data in an IE frame. I would like to jus embed the content into my existing form.
Also this freeware must be able to handle formula and user-editing as well as multiple cell type such as combobox/checkbox etc.

This works perfectly, but every first time the app start and I open the second form, on my primary screen (right side) I see the border of the second form. When I click the button again, the form is hidden, and when I click it again, it appears again but then the border is gone.
