Button With No Code Reloads Page In A New Window When Clicked?

I have a very simple ASP.NET project. It consists of two pages.The first page (FirstPage.htm) has the following markup:

So page one has a hyperlink that loads page two in a popup. Page 2 has a button that should do nothing. However, when I click on the button a new window pops up and loads Page 2 again.
If I navigate directly to page 2, nothing happens.I'm thinking I must have some odd configuration either in VS or in IIS that's causing it; but I have no idea what.

How do I prevent the page from reloading when ever I click on a checkbox?This can be cumbersome when I have hundreds of checkboxes.Below is my code:

I am using ASP.net(2.0) with VB.NET.
I have a User registration form. On that form the user supply all his contact details and he can upload a image with the normal file upload control in ASP.net.
This is my problem. If anything goes wrong on the page then i give the User a error message saying what he left out or what went wrong. But the page refresh when that does happen. NOW the link to the image the user selected is gone. NOW when the user fix his error he thinks that he is uploading a picture but he never did because when the page re loaded it removed the link to his image inside the file upload control.
Note, the user don't have to upload a image, so there will be no error when the field is blank.

I'm new to using httpwebrequest i've always just used webbrower controls but want to get away from doing that for obvious reason with that said.
I'm having it go to a wepage there is no login what so ever. but there is a cookie that holds saved data from the page. when in IE or any other brower you click an option from a combo box and it reloads the page and saves that data to a cookie.

if you just do a httpwebrrquest it goes to 1 - Home what i'm trying to do is get to 25 - Page2 the cookie has the Sid number i'm been searching and reading for atleast 10hrs now and not even close to anywhere farther than i was. if i used Webbrowser it would just save the cookie for me automaticly but want to get away from hearing the clicking and wasting time of downloading all the pictures and stuff.

I am creating a modal popup window using the Telerik RadOpen function on an Asp.Net webpage.The popup window appears correctly, but the parent window refreshes and scrolls the popup down the page. programmer and anything related with IT. i'm trying to create a program for my internet cafe wherein i would need 2 forms, 1 which will contain the transactions and 1 to log in/out customers. I was able to make this using excel but am currenty having a hard time now creating the program with VB2010, because syntax/formulas seemed different from that of excel2010... i have so many questions that i would like to ask, but i'l start with loading a form(for logging in/out) by clicking the Log-in button.

I'm using visual basics 2008, and I want to code a button, so that when clicked it will toggle the sound on/off on a web browser, while the volume of the system stays unaffected. I browsed the web and I found this code:

I have a backup script i made in VB. part of the code im having trouble with:

Now this code is executed when a button is clicked, if the folder does exists, it displays a message and continues the backup. however if it does not it displays displays "does not exist box" then i want the application to close.
I played around with the application.exit commands but it seems like the code just skips over it, and continues to try and backup the data, then errors out. how do i make the application close, if the dir does not exist?

I'm adding a SDE feature class into ArcMap and before it adds in I have to click the ok button on the "Connection Details" Window. Is there a way to click the ok button by code? I was thinking maybe it could be done by using Window notification code (e.g. code below), however I'm not seeing any option for button click Ok or Cancel. I have already done the creation of button and the dragging of button at runtime already.But now i need to know how do i save the last dragged button on the form and also detect the name of the last clicked button.so lets say i now drag a button to coordinates 25,254. so when i exit the form and the next time i launch it, the button will still be at 25,254. and this one will go on for the number of button i created like 100. so when i launch the form the 100 button will be at the exact position where i last saved them.the second part is lets say i created button1 and button2 on the form in runtime. so when i clicked the first button, it should display button1. and if i clicked on button 2, it should say button2. same goes for like 100buttons.

I am trying to get my Visual Basic Web Browser to open links and buttons when clicked in a new window of my web browser by using the New Window event. I found this code to make links work in a new window of my browser, but buttons will not. When I click on a button, a new window of my form pop ups but the url says, "about:blank". Is it because the attribute is set to "href"?

I know how to add an exit button with a prompt. However, I do not have the slightest cluse as to how I can add this same functionality to the window so that if the user clicks the X in the upper right corner, there is a prompt message confirming the user needs to exit.I added a form closing event but getting wrong results, the form closes if I click no and message window does not leave when I click yes to stay.

I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.

When I click the browser back button to go back to the page it says the page has expired. the other pages on my web site work and call the page load, the only solution i found but cant use is to wrp the whole page in an update panel, but i cant do this becuase i have a report viewer on the page that does not work with ajax.

i have a form with 10 designated slots for letter to be entered (Like the free letter spaces on hangman), above these are 10 adjacent labels with a full stop "." as the text value, now i have created a button, Q to detect whether there is a. in the first box, and if there is enter the letter Q (Letter1.text = "Q"), elseif check the same for the second box. I am creating a notes software. This is just a simple application that will show the data from the database which are Notes_Title, Due_Date, Priority. I display the data with datagridview. I also added a checkbox for each row to the datagridview to mark as check if the Notes_title is already done. In displaying the data, I need to display only a 5 data in a row.So, I create a another CLASS that will only show 5 rows per page. But the PROBLEM is, if I mark the checkbox as check in the first page then if I turn it to the next page the checkbox in the first page that mark as check will be uncheck if I turn it back to the first page. I have a calculate button that, if clicked more than once adds the total of what I previously had to the new total as I am using a loop. I was thinking that I could get around this by only allowing the button to be clicked once, and if the user attempts to do this more than once a messagebox will appear saying that you can only calculate the price once and the form resets but i can't seem to get any code working.
