Example is i have 10 checkboxes and depending on which is checked i add a different number to the variable. Now i know this can easily be done using if elseIf but seems messy. If the user check a checkbox, the value is written as checked in the data field (MS Access).The problem is when I search for the user information, I need the information from the Data base to populate(return) to the windows form. This works fine, unless I have Windows Explorer open and I'm looking at the 'MySubFolder' directory. Then I get an IOException The directory is not empty. - clicking OK dismisses this and then the folder structure is not deleted. Any thoughts on how I can get this to perform correctly (i.e. delete), even when running this code while having the folder struture open in Windows Explorer?

Jan 5, 2012I'm trying to do a simple select query from a MS access database from my service. Has anyone managed to do this in the past using their Jet eninge?
I had originally debugged and tested the code in a windows form and it worked fine. Once I moved the code into a windows service and installed it, it bombs out and doesn't generate any errors.
Thing is, I just found a .mdb file on the net so not entirely sure of the database version. I'm running office 2007 and read that if you used the .accdb version on a machine that didn't have access 2007 installed (which is going to be 99% likely), you had to install some drivers etc. in order for it to work. That is not an option unfortunately which is why I went with the old .mdb that could use Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 without any drivers to be installed.
Do I need to import something into this project to get this to work? I've attached the code below. I've added a comment after the problematic line.

Here in this code while executing the bold ,italic marked line ,a dialog box appearing to select video source even if one option is there(i.e i have connected one camera to my pc through usb).Its coming in windows 7 not in xp ( Same code ). Is there any setting to stop this dialog box or to select the video source in code without showing the dialog box.
Select A Standard Windows Form At Design Time?
Dec 5, 2010When I select a standard windows form at design time, then in the toolbox, under the "general" section, there are ellipse, line, and rectangle, but they are all gray and so can't be used and I can't find any way to make them not gray and thus usable. What am I missing? The help system tells how to USE them but nothing about how to make them accessible, it just assumes they are.
I have no problem drawing a line on a form at run-time but I want to drop one on at design time and can't find any way that's my real problem.I'm not a heavy user of VB.NET so I figure there's probably something simple that I'm overlooking.

It selects the combo box but not selecting the desired "this is my default value (TEST) - First" from the list. Basically what it is doing is selecting any value that starts with t . e.g first value is "TMP". So instead of exactly matching it is selecting any first character match.how to force it to select the exact string from list.Also tried using the following code but nothing seems to work

Also getDirectory or GetFile etc APIs won't work because I don't have a standard drive associated with my namespace & don't have a relative path either.
