May 6, 2009I've been receiving pdf files that I have been processing with the PDFsharp libraries. These files where 128-bit RC4 encrypted. Now I getting files that are 128-bit AES encyption.
I'm getting this exception "The PDF document is protected with an encryption not supported by PDFsharp."
Is AES just not supported, or do I need to change the method in which I open the file? [code]...

Oct 14, 2010I am attempting to find some code to use in VB.NET to decrypt a string that has been encrypted using the Java crypto libary.All of the code I have found so far uses an Initialisation Vector and Key to decrypt but the string has been encrypted using the Key only. (Using an Initialisation Vector is apperently an optional step in Java).Does anyone know of code that I can use (preferably in VB.NET but i could convert C#) to decrypt AES 128 Bit encoded string without an Initialisation Vector?

Apr 1, 2009I have some code that does a Find & Replace in some text files, and closes the file when complete.However, when I try to use the Kill command in VB to cleanup these files (they are temporary files) when the program is closed, I get errors that the file is in use by another app or process.Is there a way I can force these files to close first? This also happens when I scan a document using the EZTWAIN.dll Scan to native function.Everything goes fine, but if I try to scan again to overwrite the file, the file is in use.This is happening on Windows Vista SP1.

Apr 3, 2011What i want it to do is 'listen' to the lpt port, when a sensor is broken then display the time. there are two sensor to measure the time of the first and then the second sensor.How do i get VB to listen to the sensors which are on two different inputs of the lpt port and time stamp in micro seconds. I can get it to read the state of the input on mouse click but i need it to display the time in micro seconds when the input changes. i will then use the times from the two sensors to work out the time it took between both sensor changing.

Here's what I tried:
- Downloaded zlibwipa.dll from [URL] and tried to add a reference to it but got an error saying it is an invalid assembly.
- Downloaded DotZLib from [URL] but can't get it to work, error message: Unable to load DLL 'zlib.DLL': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
- Looked at this [URL] but couldn't do much with it
This files are textfiles created from flash with ActionScript 3.0, but compressed, using the ByteArray class's compress() method. I know Flash uses zlib algorithm for this, and I would like to open and use this file from vb.net.

Mar 17, 2010I have a listbox and I want to loop through each of the items to see if the string im looking for is inside. I know I could do .contains but that wouldnt look at substrings. The code im using looks like this:

Everything in the loop is fine but VB gives an error on the listbox(tempInt) part. The error is "class windows.forms.listbox cannot be indexed because it has no default value". get around the default value crap? I tried putting in a blank string but no change.

Sep 30, 2011I'm working on a small game that is based on a map of grid squares.I have a class (clsGrid) that stores a few properties for each grid square.The grid square objects are organized into a list(of clsGrid).A loop and stream reader are successfully reading properties from a text file, putting the properties into grid objects, and adding the grid objects to a my list of grids. When retrieving a grid from the list of grids, I'm getting unusual results. Regardless of the index I give the list, I always seem to get the last indexed grid in the list.The debugger seems to suggest that the right numbers are being read into the stream reader and they are being added to gridHolder. However, the message box at the end will always show me the LAST grid.id, regardless of the index I give it.
