Compare The Modify Date Of A File Vs The Current System Date?
Oct 22, 2008I'm trying to compare the modify date of a file vs the current system date. I've found an MSDN article describing how to get the modify time of a file:

MsgBox("File was last modified on " & infoReader.LastWriteTime)
This gest the Date and Time, but I want just the Date not the time.

Jul 22, 2011I make an application and make setup file using VS setup project. This work fine and create default text files into Program Files Folder for winodw 7/vista .but can not modify these files or create any new files.There are few text files need to create ,modify during application running ,but in windows 7/vista unable to create,modify files.I am using full default admin right for these OS. If iuse C: root path then application work fine or for win XP no problem.I think UAC restricting to perform these opeartion. But i do not know how to change these restriction using vb.net, whenever application start.

I found one solution that , if change user rights manually then this problem solved.Follow these step to change your account settings.Control Panel-->User Accounts and Family Safety-->User Accounts-->Change User Account Control settings-->Never notify(Set tab to never notify).After this change need to restart system.Now can make all changes like windows XP into Windows 7.can also make changes into program files.
Its working fine, but need to make these changes manually in OS.but its not efficent solution. So if any one knows how can make these changes by coding that will nice.

Formatting Excel - If I Try Using Style.numberformat With The Date And Time Formats, They Don't Change And Are Entered As If Didn't Change The Format?
Mar 11, 2011I am throwing some data out into Excel and am having some formatting troubles. I have 5 columns (date, time, a long number I don't want displayed in scientific notation - text is fine, text, text). I can get it all working with numberformat, however I have to do them different ways.
Date works this way cell.numberformat = "m/d/yy" and it formats it to say 3/1/11
Time works this way cell.numberformat = "h:mm AM/PM" and it formats it to say 8:07 AM
For the long number cell.numberformat = "@" and it doesn't change the format and it gets displayed in scientific notation
BUT if I use cell.style.numberformat = "@" it works as it should, but it messes up all of the date and time cells. Apparently when you use style.numberformat, it doesn't just apply to the cell you're working with. If I try using style.numberformat with the date and time formats, they don't change and are entered as if I didn't change the format at all.

FOLDER.ImageLocation = ""
FOLDER.Image = Image.FromFile(path.Text & "folder.jpg")
Then i the code goes to change the folders name to for example "brothers" thats were the problems start.
I have tried a number of ways
System.IO.Directory.Move(oldf, newf)
FileIO.FileSystem.RenameDirectory(oldf, newf)
Dim dDir1 As New DirectoryInfo(oldf)
dDir1.MoveTo(newf)
I get error message "access denied". When the folder is empty and I try folder name change it works ok. So I am guessing the os/program locks the folder so it cant be changed when the folder image is loaded.
