I'm fairly new to ASP.NET & VB.I've been asked to take an existing textbox that is automatically filled with the current date and allow the user to either add a "+" or "-" and a number or a spcific number and convert that into a date.I underdstand the basic concept on how to do this, but I'm running into some problems using the proper commands in order for this to work.The Textbox is called txtDate.What I've tried to do is this:
If txtDate = '+' Or '-' Then
DateAdd("d", txtDate, today)
End If
Here is what the whole thing looks like:

Whenever I create files in VB.net, the results go by default in the bin/Debug folder. I would like them to go in bin/Debug/Test without having to write the actual location, since the project folder may change from user to user (i.e. they don't place their project in the same folder I do).

I can see the property set to false in the Designer.vb code for the Form.
I've had this problem before and I'm not sure how to fix it.
Just moved from VB.NET to C#.In VB to connect and Event Handler to a Sub we use the Handles clause.From what it seems, this do not exist in C#. After creating a simple application with a button I realize that Window Forms Designer automatically created an EventHandler to my button1_Click function (after I double clicked it), in Form1.Designer.cs with this code:
this.button1.Click += new System.EventHandler(this.button1_Click);
But, in VB, the WinForms Designer create the Handles clause in my class, in the function header. So, C# create the default EventHandler in designer file, while VB creates in main class where control resides.
I am working with VS 2008 Pro. Recently i moved to a project where i need have to add Images with MouseHover, MouseEnter, etc. events. Yesterday i attempted to add it using: Picturebox1.ImageLocation="<FilePath>"
It worked. But i got a few questions and they move around with my project development are following: My above code is working but i need to know, When i will compile this file or when i will create setup / build it, than VS will add this file automatically or not?
I was wondering how can I fill a column automatically in the database with the GETDATE() ?
Like when I open the database the date of that column should be GETDATE() automatically
Change a new day and date after clock shown 00:00:00 AM.
View 3 RepliesI was just wondering if this is possible. I have a site that admins use to add products to our database. The database is in SQL Server 2008 and I use Visual Studio 2010 using VB.net and was hoping that upon addition of a new product, it would automatically generate a folder assigned to that product's ID.I haven't found anything online that would suggest that this is a possibility, but it would make it a lot easier for me. As of right now, I have to remember to create a folder in the X: drive for each product that has been added. We are up to 645 products now,

Private Sub WebBrowser1_DocumentCompleted(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs) Handles WebBrowser1.DocumentCompleted
url.Text = WebBrowser1.Url

When I try to compile this I get the error

Anyone know how I can convert this so that it works?

(All must be automatically).Also I want it to choose at random, so if it choose 1, another time it would choose 2 or something like that.

i have created a program to view images in a picturebox, i have created two list box's one for folder names/image areas to group certaint images and the second listbox to list the number of pages contained in the image folder/area. when the user creates a new image area, he or she can name it whatever they want, when they do that i would like to create a folder in the c drive for instance with the same name as the image area, and i would want it to create a .txt file aswell to keep memory of what they have done, so when they come back to it the next day they can just carry on from where they left off.

I have a standard DataGridView. One of the columns is a DataGridViewComboBoxColumn. When I select one of the ComboBox items, I want to trap the change and add additional columns based on the item selected in the ComboBox. I've tried using CellValueChanged for the DataGridView column, and a bunch of other events, but none of them is fired when the DataGridViewComboBox value is changed. What event can I trap to make this happen? Right now as I said, I am using CellValueChanged, but of course the event doesn't fire until I click on another cell...

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to design a small program for my home server that automatically updates an HTML page every time a new file is added to a certain directory.Example, say I already have 100 files in "C:Folder", and on the HTML page, all those files are listed in a table, and when you click on one of them, the file opens, say I add a new file to the folder, I want the program to automatically add that file to the list of other files, and put *NEW* next to it (newfile.txt *NEW*), and I would like it to say *NEW* for 5 days, so how would I go about making a program that does all that?

I'm having a problem with a MySQL query for returning the "last visit" field in a table.Originally I had:select fname, lname, last_visit from patient where isactive = 1 and uid = 1Which worked perfectly in MySQL, but as soon as the query is executed by my ASP.NET app, it adds in the time field also to the date area. So 2011-12-12 becomes 12/12/2011 12:00:00 AMI tried this also, with no improvement:

Public Class CroppingForm Private Sub CroppingForm_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load PictureCropper.Picture = Image.FromFile(MainForm.CurrentFilePath, "PreView Photo.bmp")
End Sub The Image that is sepose to be loaded into PictureCropper is named "PreView Photo.bmp"
By using: PictureCropper.Picture = Image.FromFile(MainForm.NewImage)the Image is being loaded correctly.
Unfortunately this is going to be a problem later on, for a Image with a diferent name will allso have to be saved to the before mentiond Folder. That is the reson for var."CurrentFilePath" it mast hold te Folder Path only "D:DIY.ID Photos"
