I'm having a problem with a MySQL query for returning the "last visit" field in a table.Originally I had:select fname, lname, last_visit from patient where isactive = 1 and uid = 1Which worked perfectly in MySQL, but as soon as the query is executed by my ASP.NET app, it adds in the time field also to the date area. I have a form where i can enter new product. In that same form i have listbox where i show the current product from the database.
I want to know how to update that listbox as i enter new product into the database so that user can see the current content of the product table.

To sum it up, what i want is something that will refresh the current display of the listbox so user can see the actual and updated contents of the database.
with the above code, the newly entered product/data can only be seen when the program is closed and reopened again. Which is not very convenient.
Display a Dialog Box that asks for some user input. Take that input and add a new entry to an access datatable. Refresh a List Box that displays the Keys from the datatable. My problem is the fact that one specific record called "Record.Asset_Tag" exists in the database, but I don't want to programically alter it. That will need to be typed in manually. However, even if I don't put in the line "Record.Asset_Tag = ...", it will overwrite anything in the field with a blank.How do I keep whatever is in the database unaltered in the Asset_Tag column?

I have a datagrid view containing a customer list that if if double click on a row it brings up a customer maintenance window. Once I hit a save bottom on the second form how can I automatically update the database, refresh the grid on the initial window but remain on the same row on form1 that I double clicked on in the first place. Currently I am re-loading the datagrid on the initial form with all the data once I close the second window down.

As you can see I was playing with WithEvents but that didn't seem to help. In the above code all I was trying to get was some kind of reaction to the clicking of a checkbox - but nothing happens (no errors, either).
I'm using a MS Access 2007 database. I modified the field definition of one of the fields in a table, it a text field and I change the maximum length from 40 to 150. I have a data source in my app that contains this table and many others. I refreshed the data source but the change didn't take affect. I went through configure option but the change still didn't take affect. It gives me this error,
The value violates the MaxLength limit of this column.
If I add/delete a database field the data source is updated when I go through the configure process. I finally just deleted the table from my data source and then added it back.

I am using Visual Studio 2005 (Visual Basic) and MS Access 2003 I am trying to build an application in the lines of the book "Doing Objects in Visual Basic 2005" by Deborah Kurata. So, I have a Data Access Layer (DAL) Class Library that is separated from the business logic layer (business objects) Class Library. I try to add a new business object such as a "Customer" to the Access Database, where the "Customer" table has a PrimaryKey "CustomerID" which is an AutoNumber field. I am successful in writing the values to the database, but I can't figure out how to know the "CustomerID" of a newly added "Customer" so I can populate the business object with the respective values.

I changed three of the columns of the grid to comboboxes bound to different tables. If I change a value in a column (not a combobox column which still shows the value from the original table), I receive InvalidOperationException was unhandled on Me.TableAdapterManager.UpdateAll(Me.MasterDataDataSet). now if I add 10 names in the table from (1-10) =123456789 10 then I deleted name number 6 the IDD field will renumber it self from( 1-9)=123456789 instead of 1234578910 so in reports and queries the names will appear numberd from 1 to last number with out missing numbers in the middle of numbering I use in MS-Access code which does this perfactly

I am getting an incorrect repsonse after an update to a table. In my RowUpdating event I have the following code which builds an Update Parameter to call an SP to update a table. I must be doing something wrong but everything runs fine. My rowsAffected variable reports 1 after the update, but the table never gets the data.[code]I found a solution that is working. On the original DataSource for the update command I needed to add the following.[code]This in essence allows the original data source to call the SP. Note: that the command type needs to stay as TEXT not Stored Procedure as one might think.
View 3 RepliesI was trying to add a worksheet to my current active workbook. I had misreferrenced the command and got an exception thrown. OK, that happens. But what happened next kinda threw me for a loop. Now, and it still happening, everytime I use F10 step I get a new worksheet added. It is the strangest thing. OK, I gave up trying to figure out this problem. I solved it by selecting the entire form1.vb file and pasting it into a new application.
