Drawing A Shape And Auto-fill It Using Colordialog
Jun 6, 2011i am working on a virtual make-up software and the only thing i lack to totally finish it is the lipstick part. is there a way that i can trace the edges of the lips of the picture that im editing and fill its insides with colors from a colordialog that will serve as if it applied a lipstick. just like what they have on jkiwi that users will jut trace the edges of the lips and then the color will automatically be filled out and it can be changed by choosing a color in a dialogbox.

Jul 31, 2010I have been searching for a while and not able to find anything useful on how to approach this issue.I have a ComboBox on a form and what I am looking to do is when the ComboBox has the cursor focus, it automatically opens up and displays the options. Just as if you clicked on the ComboBox. I was considering PerformClick but the only problem is, I believe PerformClick is only available for the Button and no other control.

Mar 24, 2010im making another program to my collection. I put them up on my website.on this one, I want to make the startup form (login.vb) like a login form.I have a template and I was wondering, instead of using an aspx.net authentication thing, could I just save it to "C:\Program Files\Facebook\users(hidden)\log.txt" and then, when the login button is clicked, it will check to see if the textbox's match the texts in the directory, and if they are correct, then It will open browser.vb? Also I looked for this sort of code, but all I could find was openfiledialogs and savefiledialogs, but I need it to run "in the background" just for verification.
I dont care that people can just click show hidden folders and then have the passwords, because it really doesn't have anything inportant in it. Also an Override account like Admin would be useful.
Code That Can Open Jpg Images And Auto-compress Them?
Nov 12, 2010I wonder if you can help. I have an intranet with about 2000 photos on it. A lot of these photos were not compressed when uploaded so can be upwards of 4 or 5MB in size.
Is there a script/tool I can run to go through the directory one image by one and automatically and compress each images to say 100k or percentage of the current file size, then save and close the file with the same name?

Is it possible to incorporate an auto email (outlook) so that I can automatically send the spreadsheet to my manager lets say his email is abc@xyz.co.uk. What I want to do is when the spreadsheet is opened an auto email is sent with the spreadsheet attached to my line manager.

I am able to send to the screen using SendKeys but I don't seem to be able to manipulate the cursor and read the data at the cursor position.

Feb 18, 2012I need some code to draw a resizable, draggable rectangular cursor (or selection box) on a picturebox. I found some excellent code (albeit rather old) that does just that, but on a form rather than a picturebox. I have tried converting the code - basically moving things to the picturebox events (Paint, MouseDown, MouseMove etc). It nearly works but leaves a trail behind it when you move or resize the cursor. In other words, the selection rectangle is not being erased before being drawn in the new position.
Is there some fundamental difference between drawing graphics on a form and drawing on a picturebox that would cause this behaviour? Something like, when you invalidate a form and cause a redraw it erases what you did last? If not, then I just need to dig a bit further and work out how the cursor is being erased from the previous position.
Here's the original code that works fine on a form:

Application Can't Connect To Local MySQL But Can Connect From Command
Sep 30, 2011We have a VB.Net application which works fine in our tests in different Windows XP SP3 machines. However there is one machine in which is displaying this error:
Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts
Using the mysql command, we can successfully connect to the database. We already checked for any other application or firewall that could be blocking the connection but it seems fine. We also reinstalled the system (no errors during the installation) but the MySQL error message doesn't change.
The system settings are exactly the same as in the other computers. We are using "localhost" as server in the connection string. The "hosts" file has its default values (nothing strange in there).

May 29, 2012I am trying to connect to my remote MySql Database within Visual Studio using the compact framework.
I can successfully add a data source and preview the data within the IDE so assume that the connection is ok regarding Connection strings and remote access.
However, when I attempt to access the data using any run time control I get the following error when the table is loaded using the .fill method.

Auto Refresh And Auto Click
Oct 1, 2009I am new to VB and am trying to get my webbrowser1 auto refresh on a web page every few seconds. Is there a way to program a button to do this? I am also trying to get the browser to auto select "yes" when a radio button is present and then auto click "yes" on a message box when it pops up. Any ideas where to start?
