Creating Sequentially Named Labels?
Oct 14, 2010I am using a variation of Stanav's example from the previous post seen in Sub dd_Inhoud_Labels. The first 3 Subs (Add_Titel_Label, Add_Byskrif_Label & Add_Lewering_Label) is allso shown below so you can see what I am leading up to. Sub Add_Inhoud_Labels is not only responsible for creating labels but allso placing them acording to the location and size of the previos label and allso ather properties as Font and so on depending on the marker at the start of the text string saved in the data base.The problem I can not get solved is that only the last of the Inhoud Labels seem to be created, it seem to be in the correct location as last label as seen in the pic below

I'm basically simulating bowling. I've created a form that has a "scoreboard" on it, and I'm updating the cells of the scoreboard to display the bowl result. Without doing 21 if statements, I figured I could call a method, send it which roll number it is, and then use a for loop to update each label's text values.[code]...

Feb 5, 2009With VB, but I've got the few basics down, file naming, adding objects, naming objetcs, etc. But the reason I'm on here is because I cannot complete even the first step. Our form is 640 X 480, and we need to have two labels, both have vertical scrolls. I know how to add and resize the labels to meet my needs, but I do not know how to create scrolling labels. Or are they text boxes? On our bubble chart (Do you know what that means?) it says lblInformation. We are going to have clickable radio buttons which will update the lblInformation with info about each of the radio buttons.

Dec 8, 2009I am a newbee at this but I have a general question about datasets.Most of the help I have read and the videos that I have watched when a dataset is created it is created for a given table.Take the northwinds database.When a dataset is created in vb2008 in the video it creates a dataset for the Customer table and a seperarte dataset for the Orders table and a serperate dataset for the OrderHdr/OrderDtl.Is it better to do it this way or is it better to create one dataset named NorthDataSet and have all of the tables defined in it?What are the pros and cons to doing it both ways.Is there something I can read to help me decide which way to go?I have a large project that is being changed from VB6 and ACCESS to VB2008 and Sql Server.The database has around 300 tables in it.

VS 2008 - Sequentially Reading Byte Array
Jan 10, 2010Is there any way using existing .NET framework classes/methods that you can sequentially read a byte array? I dont mean just using a for loop to loop through from the beginning to the end, I mean having the kind of methods that you have when working with an IO.Stream subclass, such as ReadByte. I thought I would just be able to construct a new IO.Stream class and pass it in a byte array but it seems that Stream is just for inheriting and cannot actually be used itself. I could implement my own class that just has an internal position counter and a byte array and then each time you call ReadByte on that it advances the position and returns the byte at that index... but it seems odd to have to implement such a basic thing myself.

The problem is that VB 2008 dos not seem to support Control Arrays. There must be another way to work around this.

Jun 22, 2009I need to create a form with radio buttons, text boxes, labels, etc.. This information needs to be pulled from a database. For instance, I have a form that displays information that needs to be inputed to a database, based on what test is being done for a specific product. Each product requires different tests. So each product may or may not have the same information that needs to be inputed..
What I have done is made a database and filled a table with each product and what tests apply. I then call that database after the product has been selected for the tests. It will then fill an array for that products information for what texts boxes and labels need to be shown. I wanna take this further and have it create a form through code and align all the controls to specific spots so that it will look nice. For example I wouldn't wanna create a control and have it be cut out of the form, or have other controls overlapping others.

I then can click and drag text from the listview box to any label on the form and then the program removes the value from the listview box. Now, my question is how can I instruct VB to save these values in the text property of the labels so that the next time the program is loaded the labels will contain the values loaded during the last run time session?
