App. To Create An Control Array At Runtime That Will Consist Of Up To 50 Data Bound Labels
Mar 13, 2010
I need my app. to Create an Control Array at runtime that will consist of up to 50 Data Bound Labels. The app. will first be checking the 1st database field (Ing1) to see if there is data, if so then only create the 1st Data Bound Label (lblIng1) and then check the next field and so on.
The problem is that VB 2008 dos not seem to support Control Arrays. There must be another way to work around this.

I have an mp4 Video which I need to play as a "background" of my form. To do this, I'm currently using the WMP control. My problem: I can't add any controls on top of it, since they always render a background. Which looks ** on the video...

I have created several WPF User Controls. The lowest level item is 'PostItNote.xaml'. Next, I have a 'NotesGroup.xaml' file that has an ItemsControl bound to a List of PostItNotes. Above that, I have a 'ProgrammerControl.xaml' file. Each ProgrammerControl has a grid with four different NotesGroup user controls on it (and each NotesGroup contains 0-many PostItNotes.
Then, I have my main window. It also has an ItemsControl, bound to a list of Programmers.
So, you end up with a high level visual view of a list of programmers, each programmer has four groups of tickets, each group of tickets has many PostItNotes.
The trouble I'm having, is that I want to respond to a mouse click event in my mainWindow's code behind file.
I can add a MouseClick event into my PostItNote.xaml.vb file and that is getting called when the user clicks a PostItNote, and I can re-raise the event; but I can't seem to get the NotesGroup to listen for that event. I'm not sure if that's even the correct approach.
When the user clicks the PostItNote, I'm going to do a bunch of business-logic type stuff that the PostItNote control doesn't have a reference to/doesn't know about it.

With VB, but I've got the few basics down, file naming, adding objects, naming objetcs, etc. But the reason I'm on here is because I cannot complete even the first step. Our form is 640 X 480, and we need to have two labels, both have vertical scrolls. I know how to add and resize the labels to meet my needs, but I do not know how to create scrolling labels. Or are they text boxes? On our bubble chart (Do you know what that means?) it says lblInformation. We are going to have clickable radio buttons which will update the lblInformation with info about each of the radio buttons.

I am trying to create a macro to enter data in a label printing application for hundreds of labels- I use an external third party software that's not very user friendly. It has several fields that accept text. The problem is, manually entering the data and clicking "print" each time is very time consuming. Can anyone suggest a way to put a line of text in the field, printing, and repeating the process?

I am writing a Windows form application where a client has the ability to add as many chart as needed in the form by clicking at an icon in the menu bar at run time. These charts will have the same format, and I will have them linked to a text box for the client to select which entity to chart.I have no clue where to start. I did a web search and I have found articles that show how to add user's control at design time (I don't think it is what I want).

I'm trying to make labels at runtime. The idea is to create them on the fly in runtime.
I have this on my form:
btnAdd
txtName
txtAge
[Code]....
Which work fine, but if I want to create another label, how do I check to see if one or more labels have already been created and then apply a new location of the new label? (so it doesn't get override on the same location on the form?)

I have 20 items (various well materials) on the form. Each item can change in rank from 1 to 20 depending upon the current future pricing. I need to add the name of the Material to the Label and then store the GUID of the material in the Tag Property. The user can enter quantity wanted of one of 3 conditions Junk, Good, New. I've got it where I can save the data from a static form - in other words I control sequence from 1 to 20. However, the users want it to show the materials based upon the daily changing sequence of future pricing. In other words material1 may in sequence 1 today but sequence 5 tomorrow and sequence 15 the day after, etc. The field LOLSeq is automatically updated at 4:00 am each morning before the users start. I can organize the data set by the sequence but I am unable to cycle through the dataset and load the info into a changing label. Labels are named Label1 to Label20 and I have tried such things as
Label & "rowndx" & .Text and a dozen combinations without any luck. My code is below and of course as it stands everything goes into the first label. Any assistance is appreciated.

I am using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and want to design my Dynamic crystal reports. In vb6 i normally did this via bounding each control of the section1 ,2 or 3 via run time code by giving the name of that control something like
.section3.controls("txtName").text=some value
can I did the same with crystal reports as well in VB.Net if yes than how.?

It was so simple in VB6 but I don't know how to approach it in VB2010. I've looked the internet but each site seems to have a different solution and masses of code for something that could be done in a few lines in VB6.Here is the code I want to use. How do I go about creating a control array of 100 picture boxes pic(1) up to pic(100)?
Code:
For y = 0 To 9
For x = 1 To 10
tempObject = (Mid(StrRow(y), x, 1))
