I'm trying to make labels at runtime. The idea is to create them on the fly in runtime.
I have this on my form:
btnAdd
txtName
txtAge

Which work fine, but if I want to create another label, how do I check to see if one or more labels have already been created and then apply a new location of the new label? (so it doesn't get override on the same location on the form?)
I want to know how to create labels at run time and navigate through them. My form is looks like below. When i enter the text in the Textbox1 and click Add button, it should add a label and set its text to the textbox1.Text

The position of my labels won't remain fixed during run time whenever i've added a background picture to my form. What should i do so that my labels remain fixed at one position at run time. I've tried locking them and also locking the form but the labels still move a few pixels from their original position.
View 2 RepliesI have 20 items (various well materials) on the form. Each item can change in rank from 1 to 20 depending upon the current future pricing. I need to add the name of the Material to the Label and then store the GUID of the material in the Tag Property. The user can enter quantity wanted of one of 3 conditions Junk, Good, New. I've got it where I can save the data from a static form - in other words I control sequence from 1 to 20. However, the users want it to show the materials based upon the daily changing sequence of future pricing. In other words material1 may in sequence 1 today but sequence 5 tomorrow and sequence 15 the day after, etc. The field LOLSeq is automatically updated at 4:00 am each morning before the users start. I can organize the data set by the sequence but I am unable to cycle through the dataset and load the info into a changing label. Labels are named Label1 to Label20 and I have tried such things as
Label & "rowndx" & .Text and a dozen combinations without any luck. My code is below and of course as it stands everything goes into the first label. Any assistance is appreciated.

I have a form on which I want to place labels created by code executed by clicking a button(cmdAddLabel) at run time. I subsequently want to move the newly created labels around on the form. The following code sucessfully creates the labels at run time whenever the cmdAddLabel button is clicked:

I need to create an Array of Labels. I am using A With Code block to set the properties of the Labels as well as the Data Binding. I want to set the LabelIndex inside this block as well. How do I go aboute this?
View 8 RepliesI need my app. to Create an Control Array at runtime that will consist of up to 50 Data Bound Labels. The app. will first be checking the 1st database field (Ing1) to see if there is data, if so then only create the 1st Data Bound Label (lblIng1) and then check the next field and so on.
The problem is that VB 2008 dos not seem to support Control Arrays. There must be another way to work around this.

This creates the labels and text boxes in the form. Later in the program I would like to change the text within both the T1310() and T1550() text boxes and I am attempting to do so with the following code.

I get errors on the Blue lines. Everything compiles fine, but when the software goes through the loop I get the error "NullReferenceException was unhandled"
I am using a variation of Stanav's example from the previous post seen in Sub dd_Inhoud_Labels. The first 3 Subs (Add_Titel_Label, Add_Byskrif_Label & Add_Lewering_Label) is allso shown below so you can see what I am leading up to. Sub Add_Inhoud_Labels is not only responsible for creating labels but allso placing them acording to the location and size of the previos label and allso ather properties as Font and so on depending on the marker at the start of the text string saved in the data base.The problem I can not get solved is that only the last of the Inhoud Labels seem to be created, it seem to be in the correct location as last label as seen in the pic below

I'm trying to make a "review" section in a step through form, where the user can see everything that has been entered and if they choose go back and "edit" that information again. One section only has to show the information that has been added by the user, basically if they don't select a certain checkbox there is no reason to display the info for that box.I want to to dynamically create labels in a Panel (Panel7) on a TabPage (TabPage3), only for the checkbox information that was selected. This is what I have right now, and I am unable to see anything on the page, I have also tried without the panel and straight onto the tabpage itself to no avail.

I'm currently making an application that involves time tables / scheduling. I'm required to generate a timetable for school teaching activities. in this application, I want to display the time slots using labels and I want to enable users to drag them around to place the subject cards in the available slots. I'm even confused with the control to use for the time slots. Right now I'm thinking of using datagridview for the time slot. So I'm trying to drag the labels around and placing them in the datagridview cells.

I have the fonts needed to create barcodes and all the code written to generate them inclusive of the check digit. I have a SQL table that contains UPC codes for each item. I have searched high and low for an example in creating barcode labels and printing them however, I'm unable to find anything that does not require SDK to be purchased or mail merge in WORD etc. I need to be able to do this in VB .net for Windows. My label will have a picture of the product in the upper left hand corner of each label.

I know that you can add a data source in design by going through the Wizard but what if one would want to create the connection, adapter, and dataset during runtime? Where would you start?

Now there are no errors in the code apparently, but when the left key is pressed, the picture box isnt appearing. I added the "lblAnswer1.visible = false" just to test the keydown functionality, and that works.
im doing a project in which im basically trying to make an etch-a-sketch style program.

I am having some problems adding controls at runtime, or I guess I should say accessing the controls after adding them.The application starts off with a tab control named "tabIncidents" and one tab for an incident information. The user can click on a button to add a client. When the button is pressed a second tab is added to "tabIncidents" named "Clients." On the newly created "Clients" tab another tabcontrol is added named "tabClients" and we create a tab named "Client". Multiple "Client" tabs can be created on this tabcontrol. Each "Client" tab gets a usercontrol added named "clientInformation" which has name and address textboxes.

Problem: Need to get a picturebox to display four images, one after each other. But in a way in which during runtime the changes can be seen.
So I figured if after every image is changed for example if I had some sort of timer, then during runtime the image will be shown, then after a certain period the next one would be shown and etc. I tried doing this using a timer and then a stopwatch but both time's no change can be seen in runtime and there is a small wait before the last image comes up.
I then also, tried using sleep, but that also showed no changes. Underneath is a quick piece of coding of what I'm trying to achieve, but instead of textboxs, for the sake of what I'm trying to do I will be using pictureboxs.

I want to create a Panel dynamically on the form when a button is clicked. Also labels with given TEXT are also to be created when create label button is clicked. then we should be able to print the form contents as it appears but without any buttons. We should be able to resize the panel to adjust the page size.
