I am trying to make the program close if the -1 string is sent with the program. See my installer allows for me to run certain programs before it actually installs, but it doesn't shut down copies of the program itself. So I have a next startup instance set to shut the program down if the -1 is received. But if the program is not running it starts up instead. This is not desired. form1.close doesn't work. e.cancel = true doesn't work, etc etc. What can I do to make the program not start during this instance.

Sep 7, 2011i need to create multiple threads to improve a function on my program. it is a simple thing really but it's slow and if multithreaded it can improve the speed some thousand times. my program uses a dll to check the MX record of an e-mail from a textbox called emails if the mx record is correct then it validates that domain, if not, it sends to an error textbox with that mail my problem is that im reading a lot on multithreading and i dont have an idea how to make something like this: for x=0 to emails.lines.count -1' start a thread that runs my function next if i can limit the number of threads to avoid crashing it would be good.

It would be wonderful if i could setup a custom menu programatically as well. I have seen some documentation on Imapi 2.0 but i have not been able to find too much suppoert for it. I have also found a few SDK's out there but most are over $1000 which just isnt in the budget.
1) Is there a library included in windows 7 that will allow me to do this.

Feb 13, 2009I want to create a program that checks the characters of the string "George123" . If a number is found in the string then a message box will pop up. Here is where the problem lies. I created a for loop that inspects each character of the string George123 and when it reaches the number 123 the message box pops up. The only problem with the message box is that it appears 3 times as there are three numbers in the string. So my question is how do i exit a for loop right after the first number is found in the string.

Example scenario:The web service should return at least 6 items(1 array)

Jun 22, 2010I'm having a little trouble deleting multiple lines for a listbox. I know how to remove a single line, which is this: [code]If I change the value for IndexOf to SelectedItems, I get an error stating that -1 is not valid for index.I am guessing this needs to be done using an integer array and a for each but I don't know how to do that. I really never bothered to look much into arrays.
