Create And Post An Html Page From Code Behind In Program?
Mar 30, 2011
I have a NameValueCollection in vb.net and I need to be able to iterate through it and create an html form that posts automatically to a 3rd party site.
I have this to go off of as an example, but I am not sure exactly how to do this from code behind and end up with an html page that actually posts.[code]...

I am a one man dev shop and need some outside opinions on how to approach this project.
I need to create a "post office" program that will send html emails thru the system.net.mail framework.
For each job submitted to the postoffice the app would need to read a user created html email string from the database, read a string of email addresses to send to and send out the emails based on a set processing time.
The first step would be to parse out the email addresses to find out how many emails it needs to send out and determine how many it would need to send per minute to complete the job in 20 minutes tops. I.e. if 1000 email addresses are submitted per job it would determine that it needs to send 50 emails per minute to complete the job.
The part I am stuck on is how I should queue the emails. If the app determines it needs to send 50 a minute should I only load up the first 50 on a timer event then get the next 50 queued up for the next timer tick? Or would it be better to load up all 1000 in a loop and build in some kind of wait time after it sends the first 50?

I have a normal winform and I would like to know is there any possibility to generate a html page and to add a css file to the html page from the local folder.
something like this:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/css" src="MyDir/main.css"></script>
</head>
<body>
</body>
</html>
How do I do this from the codebehind(logic part)not web application codebehind using webbrowser control.

I've written the code to post the information to a page, however I don't know how to make the post target the iframe I've placed on the page. (I haven't tested this code so I'm not sure if the post even works)
Dim param1, param2, result, url As String
Dim request As HttpWebRequest
Dim paramStream() As Byte[code].....
That is what I have written to post to the website, however I would like the post to affect an iframe which I have placed on the page. I know when you're writing html you can have a target specified in the form tag
<form target="my_iframe" method="post" action="dosomething.php" />
But I wasn't sure if there is one similar to target that I can specify from VB code.Just a note: I am trying to do a post from a ASP.NET page to a PHP page that is contained in an iframe.

I'm writing a program in VB.net that gets the source code of a web page with a video on it. it then uses regular expressions to isolate the download link of that video. then it uses "httpwebrequest" and "httpwebresponse" to download the video. my problem arises when certain sites have a page where you have to click continue in order to get to the video page. [URL].. called "The.Matrix.Reloaded.2003.mp4" so i tell my program to get the source code for the url [URL]..but it cant find the video's download link because it's searching for the file in the "continue" page's source code. you can see what i am saying by going to that website above and viewing the source code by right clicking on it. and then click continue and do the same when the video appears and you'll notice that the file is only there in the second one.
So my question is how can i get the source code for the page that the video is playing on and not the page where i have to click continue?

First off...I am as green as it gets with VB. I have created an app that will load an image file(yourimage.jpg), preview it, strip the extension (yourimage), upload to server via FTP as (yourimage.jpg)and send an email with the link to it ( url/yourimage.html) . What I really need now is to be able to enter the code in VB to actually create the HTML page with the name as the link.The HTML page needs to load the image and have a form below it. I have a active form already online that uses e-forms to send responses back to me.

I have an ASP.NET Form (aspx). It uses VB as the codebehind. I want ALL of the VB to run and then the page to render BEFORE redirecting to the specified form. The problem is, is that I have Response.Redirect calls in the middle of the VB code (aspx.vb) and it seems to redirect before rendering the page. Is there any way around this? I need to have the page render so that some JavaScript on the client side (aspx) can run (it is for Google Analytics).

I use Visual Basic.net to create a program that connects to several websites, logins, then post some data. I can't use the httpwebrequest, some java is required on those sites, so i use the webbrowser control.Now I created a form, some fields for input data and a submit button. The coding part is like this:
Code:
sub website1(vars)
'login here
'post some data
[code].....
The problem is that I can't control what happens after submit button is clicked. I need to pause or stop the process at any time. If I exit the program while processing, I can see that even if the window disappear, the program is still running!I tried to use a thread for this, but the subs only get called if I use begininvoke, or invoke on a starter thread.

Is there any C#/VB.NET library that can produce HTML output from Python sourcecode ?
I mean display the Python sourcecode syntax-highlighted on a website ?
It should be C#/.NET code, not a JavaScript library. This is because I highlight many programming languages, and their HTML is already generated server-side, so I really can't use a JavaScript library.

This may sound really stupid but I have to ask cause I'm not finding this answer anywhere.I have an application where the user will need to sign up for a new user account on the website [URL]..However when I am using Firefox's plug-in Firebug to view html I am getting something totally different than when I just right click on the site and view the page source.
What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.
Here is the source that I am getting using Firefox's Firebug to inspect the element:
<td>
<input type="hidden" value="Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK" name="iden">
<img class="capimage" src="/captcha/Oo3Jo1I8bgzK68agMqo3s79ZZib2OkbK.png" alt="i wonder if these things even work">
</td>
[Code]...
Why would the two be showing me two different versions of the HTML?
And how would you be able to grab that source to view in a picturebox using webclient?

I'm letting my users write their own HTML from my webpage. When they click the preview button, my code behind needs access to controls on the page (and so I understand I can't use a web method here). It builds the HTML and saves it as a file on the server. My question is: Once the file has been made, I want to automatically open the file in a new window for the user to see their handy work. I'm using vb.net, but happy to receive c# answers.

Changed thread type to QUESTION. I was then able to mark AS ANSWER the relevent post which now also immediately follows this post and so it is easier to find as suggested by forum user j2associates .
<edit> It is also my 3rd post in this thread, the 8th one up, of my posts, from the bottom ( for now ), as the forum format has changed yet again.I will leave the rest of this post( as is ) purely for historical reasons. I have been on these forums long enough to see 3 forum changes. <edit> 19th May, 2010> Link added to a video on the next line of text.

I am trying to find out if it possible to create a windows form that will post an XML file using a simple HTML Form? I have the HTML page that will be used to post the XML file already created, what i wanted to be able to do was enter the XML into a text box on my form which the user can post. When the XML is entered and the button POST is hit then the XML is added to the HTML page that i have already made and posted to the webservice. Is this possible?
What i also want to be able to do is display the XML response received following the post, to update you if the post has been successful, is this possible?

I need to POST a HTML form to a 3rd party website (a Mass-SMS texting system).
In the past I've done this by forwarding to a page containing a form I've pre-populated and hidden (using display:none), then I've ran a javascript function at the end of the page to automatically submit this form.
However I'm hoping theres someway I can do all this programmatically (as I don't care about the response, and the user doesn't need to see the page the form is being posted to).
