Creating A Custom Documentation Application Using Word And .NET?

Here at my company we have an Access application that allows users to create documents based on invoices that are in Great Plains, an accounting program. Documents such as invoices, packing lists, export documentation, etc., etc.This application is very old and very hard to maintain so we're doing a rewrite and I've chosen this project to be my first Visual Basic .NET project.Basically what the application is going to do is allow users to do the following:
Pull up invoice information and then add some secondary information such as comments and the like Choose which documents they want to print out Open the documents and then allow the user to edit the documents That last part is the tricky part. The users right now create these documents out of Access and print to a PDF and then edit the PDF with comments that can be specific to the document and customer. If they didn't have to do that, then I could just used canned reports or something.
What I am thinking of doing is creating Word templates with text boxes and inside those text boxes adding addressable bookmarks. When the user goes to print the documents, open Word, populate the bookmarks from the database (SQL Server) and then that will let them draw text boxes and fill them with whatever they want before they print the documents and then they can save them.

I have xml summary comments for each and every function and class of my windows project. Now I want to generating the XML Documentation File. I gone through the following link, but the Option was not there in my Solution explorer.
When in VS 2008 if a developer hits the ''' it generates the XML comment tags for you, but this only works when the project setting for "Generate XML documentation file" is checked. Is there a way to tell VS to generate the XML Comment tags, regardless of the project setting? I think it is possible that someone may want comments but not create a XML documentation file. In this case I am exceeding the current Team Settings, yet other developers don't want me to change this project setting. This forces me to flip this back before checking in the project. I have the same problem with other Project settings like "code Analysis". This is only a problem for VB.NET projects.
I was wondering what options i have in order for me to create documentation for the applications i write? i.e. Some documentation for code written and some general comments on what the application is doing etc?
After a quick search i noticed a few options but most seem to be using VS 2003 (prefer something for 2010)
We have an interactive windows based application written in VB .Net 2010. It uses Word Object to display documents in MS Word. We have a form with a button. When the button is clicked we open the Word document and maximize the Word Windowstate. When we have the Visual Studio Tool running, the Word Document is maximized and has focus, even if we are running the exe from the bin folder outside of the tool. However, if Visual Studio is not running and we run the exe, focus remains on the original form window and the document stays in the task bar.
I have a VB.net application that gets data off our server with ODBC and populates and saves a Word Document. When I try to deploy it to another computer it will get the data just fine and populate the first document, but it will crash before saving it. I've installed the .net framework 4.0, Microsoft Data Access Components, and the Microsoft ODBC .net data Provider. The error code is 0xC0000005, which is from what I can see is called an "Access Violation Exception." It works fine on my computer.
The application I support is creating an amalgamted Word document by copying couple of Word documents in one document right after each other. The problem is the format of the some of the fields of the document that gets appended is changed in amalgamated document while the amalgamated document is the copy of AppendDocument (imagine if we have one document to copy in the amalgamated document)
i have been using the above references to print a report in word document but my problem is that i am failing to put headers and footers on my reports. i want to include report title on the header and page number on the footer. how do i do it?
I was wondering if anyone knew how to create a intellisense type form for a rich text box word. Really I only need help with the code that gets the highlighted words location and places my form under the word to the left.For example: When I highlight a word in my RichTextBox and click on a button, a form of my choice would popup under the word to the left.
I have been perusing the internet in search of the best way to accomplish this, but have had no luck. If someone here has experience with Office add-ins, I'm not asking for a solution by any means, just assistance with which direction to take. What would be the best approach for creating MS Word 2007 documents with vb.net that contains signature lines? I am currently in the planning phase of a project and I'm trying to gather some info. The idea would be to upgrade this program we have already developed(using vb.net) to generate .docx files that contain signature lines that are created progmatically. The signatures would be added later by the user through a workflow in SharePoint I just need to create the document with the lines. I have seen different tutorials on creating word docs, but not sure which method would be the best for what I'm doing. Where should I start looking?
Also, there doesnt seem to be too many tutorials on adding signatures line through code, more specifically how to automate the signature line setup. e.g. Who should sign, signers name, signers email address. How do I set these paramaters through code?
I am generating tables and writing them to word on the fly. I do not know how many tables there will be each time i write the data to word and the problem I am having is the second table is written inside the first cell of my first table. If there was a third table it is put inside the first cell of my second table.Is there a way to move the cursor out of the table? I have tried creating a new range with each table also but the same thing happens.I have also tried things like tbl.Range.InsertParagraphAfter()The closest I came was using the Relocate method, but this only worked for two tables.
I would like to create an order form for my ASP.net page (I included an example image below). However I don't know how to approach this. I'm assuming the best method would be a gridview but it would involve two levels of grouping. Other requirements would be be to accept a quantity and then calculate the total price. Can anyone point me to some good books or websites that explain creating custom grid views like this (or maybe a better method than using gridview, I'm open to whatever). I consider myself to be an intermediate programmer in asp.net.
Is this possible? I am trying to create my own "X" and "minimize" buttons on my form -- the only way that I can currently think to do it is by making my form have no border, and creating a 'fake' menu bar using labels and buttons for minimizing and maximizing. The goal here is to be able to have custom icons for maximize, close, etc that may not match the Windows default scheme.

so i succesfully extracted the kernel and i booted my mips processor,Now i can see a black screen running wince kernel.

The Deskstop should be attached at last.
For Example:when a application is opened it should have the capability to open the application on the top of the Desktop.
and it should be locked on the background.

If i close a application in my kernel the application is closed but the image stays still because there is no desktop background to repaint itself.so i want to create a form with the two properties above Mentioned.
I'm working with Microsoft Word and trying to generate a table with headings that may span one to three columns. I'm having trouble figuring out how to do this. The table should look something like the following:Counters

To get it to look this way, I'm not exactly sure what to do from VB.
I'm having a bit of trouble with my project here... and Google isn't helping very much. To put it briefly, I'm currently making a sticky note program (one fairly similar to Sticky Notes, for those of you familiar with Windows Vista or 7). It's relatively simple, as the "note" itself is basically a glorified Rich Text Box.
My problem is this: I obviously want to allow some for some customization with the font, however I don't want to use a standard full-on Dialog Box. So I designed a small form with 2 Combo Boxes--one for font and the other for size--and 2 buttons, "OK" and "Cancel". What I'm attempting to do is program this form (named dlgFont) to more or less be recognized as a Font Dialog Box. I've got some of it figured out I think, but I can't seem to put the pieces together in a way that actually works.In the code for my main form, I have this within the Class... stuff:

As for the Command Button that pulls up the dialog box itself, well, it's actually a Context Menu Strip Item... I'm not really sure what to put. So far I've only tried this:

I am working on a project that has some events already created and working. One of these events is called SelectedIndexChanged Event. I am using it for one of my Subs in my frmNewInspection Class, and I am trying to use it for a second Sub and it says that "Event SelectedIndexChanged Cannot Be Found".

I want to create a folder " c:imagebox " when the user runs my setup. I tried this in " Add special folder --> Custom folder " then a folder appears i renamed it to ImageBox and in default location i typed " C: " and set its property to always create but when i tested the setup on xp an vista i did not created any folder.
I am wondering if I can extend a component (e.g a button ) in vb the same way I can in java which enables you to modify the component for your specific requirement or create a new one from scratch.
