Difficulty Importing Excel Worksheet When Sheet Name Varies?

I'm attempting to import an excel spreadsheet into a dataset. The spreadsheet is selected by the user by browsing for a file. I can get it to work properly only if I know the exact sheet name, but it varies from sheet to sheet. I need to tell it to always use the first sheet in the workbook.
I've declared the following at the beginning of my project:
Imports System.Data
Imports System.Data.OleDb
Imports Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel

I am importing an excel sheet into my sql database. Everything works fine, but I would like to read the column header in as static value. Not sure how to do this. Here is the code I am using to read the sheet in:

Currently I'm working on some code to modify a spreadsheet before it get's imported into SSIS, using a SSIS script task, so VB.Net.
However I'm having real trouble figuring out the correct code for doing a copy, paste as values for a particular range. In other words: my spreadsheet has formulas in it and I want to convert this to values before it gets imported. I have no trouble figuring out what it should be like in VBA, I just can't get it to work in VB.Net.
Does any one have a clue, or even better a code snippet on how to do this? I can find alll sorts of examples in VB.net for excel just no Copy- paste (as values) ones.

In this file some cells are merged. After copying to the new sheet the formatting of the sheet does not remain same. Columns sizes are changing. Why this problems occurs? I have to provide an Excel file as an output. I have to color some of lines and make them bold.The input is based on a dynamic list (in memory) and it also could be based on CSV file that I'm already provide today (based on the same dynamic list).I'm wondering what would be the most efficient way (in terms of performance) in order to provide the colored Excel output?Should I export directly from dynamic list into Excel - or - Should I export from CSV into Excel ?

So I've got this Excel sheet of employees which have all the information about them. I'm trying to import this info into AD, but in order to do that I need to get the username for these users as well. And I would like vba code or vb.net code that basically takes the value of every row in column D and looks for it in AD and returns the username and adds it to column A. Would something like this be possible?

I'm trying to copy multiple excel source files into one excel file. My current code is working only for 3 source files..If more than 3 files are there, it doesn't copy the data but creates blank work sheet in the output excel file. Lets say I have a source folder with 5 excel files. Each workbook contains one worksheet with data. It copies upto 3 worksheets along with data into output excel file.
Lets say excel1 contains A as work sheet, excel2 contains B as work sheet ,excel3 contains C as work sheet ,excel4 contains D as work sheet ,excel5 contains E as work sheet .Now my output excel file should look like..OutputExcel with A, B, C, D, E along with respective data.But my current code is giving output as A,B,C worksheets along with respective data but its creating blank sheet1,sheet2 in place of D & E.

I would like to prompt the user, in the middle of a VB program, either with MsgBox or any other dialog, to input data in a worksheet of the Workbook that contains the code and then, on some event, read the data and continue execution. I was not successful with MsgBox (and other forms) since it is modal. The user cannot get focus on the worksheet, input data and then continue execution by clicking a command button.

I have a bunch of Excel files, each file with multiple worksheets (aka, tabs). I want to loop thru each file, and within each file, loop thru its worksheets and do some stuff. I've included Microsoft.Office.Interop in my code and I am able to do Excel operations but I am not sure how you loop thru the multiple worksheets within a workbook.
Here is what I have so far.

I know I havent posted in awhile but you guys have done such a good helping me, my projects have been a breeze lately I have a new challenge though and I cant seem to figure out the solution. This new project Im working on sends a range of cells from an excel worksheet to the body of an email message and attaches two files.
I already have the automation down for the population of the excel file.I just need to copy Range A1:F20 from xlsheet3 to the body of a blank email with a populated subject line.Ive checked out this site already [URL].. but he seems to be accomplishing it with excel where as I (if I can) would like to do it in VB on VS .
