I am Importing a Excelsheet(xls) in to my Application, but the date and Number column showing blank in dataset when comes to application. The values are there in Excel. Any other way to import the excel sheet to application, so that i should get all the values same as there in the excel sheet.

I can get it to work properly only if I know the exact sheet name, but it varies from sheet to sheet. I need to tell it to always use the first sheet in the workbook.

Currently I'm working on some code to modify a spreadsheet before it get's imported into SSIS, using a SSIS script task, so VB.Net.
However I'm having real trouble figuring out the correct code for doing a copy, paste as values for a particular range. In other words: my spreadsheet has formulas in it and I want to convert this to values before it gets imported. I have no trouble figuring out what it should be like in VBA, I just can't get it to work in VB.Net.
Does any one have a clue, or even better a code snippet on how to do this? I can find alll sorts of examples in VB.net for excel just no Copy- paste (as values) ones.

The form does not like a blank MaskedTextBox; therefore, when filled - no problem. When left empty, it has a problem. So I wrote this code to populate the column regardless, and will filter out the 2001-01-01 entries in associated reports using Report Viewer. This is less than ideal, so I would like to know if there is a way to make the column as NULL instead of "dummy date" of 2001-01-01?

My requirement is to read all rows of an excel-sheet in first column that are not empty, are numeric and have a length between 15 and 20.
For example:

This column might have a header that is not numeric and there might be empty rows. This would cause an exception when importing them via SqlBulkCopy. So i want to prefilter the correct rows via OleDbCommand.
What I have tried so far is following(C# is also appreciated):

But this throws an exception if there are empty rows or the format of the value is incorrect. So my question is: How to restrict the rows of OleDbCommand to:
Get only first column of every worksheet
All values that are numeric
Skip empty values
Ideally only the values with a length between 15 and 20
Any way how to skip the empty rows, Or do I have to to select the whole datatable? I hoped it would be possible to do that only with one query because of performance reasons.

Some of the columns contain date information, which are read in fine (usually as a string "2/20/2011" or so), but the headers of those columns are read in as a blank "". The headers for all the other columns read in fine, but not for the date containing columns.

The looping part i have no problem with, and the system date calculation also i know how to do. The problem call the date from the startDate column to do the calculation.

I am creating my Excel great, except that a field that contains numbers ie 1-10 or 2-5 keep getting changed to the equivilant in date. I don't want dates. If I format to text, then it cuts off part of the original data.

View 5 RepliesI have a crystal report that works in Crystal Reports Writer XI just fine. I run the report in the application passing the same information that I use to test in the CR Writer and the report is completely blank. No exceptions what so ever are raised in the application.I've opened the report in VS2008 and resaved it and verified the database and still nothing. I have two different versions of the report. The report is using stored Procs and I have verified that it is loading the report because it is accepting the parameters I setup in the report. If I change the name of the parameter I'm saving to something invalid it then throws an error.
