Display Information In A Listbox From Selection Made In Datagridview?
Jun 26, 2009I'm curently trying to get information displayed in a listbox from a selection made in a datagridview. For example a user selects an artist from the treeview control and it displays all the albums by that artist in the datagridview. Once a user selects an album all information for that album is displayed below the datagridview in either a listbox or listview control. I've tried dragging the conrols from the datasource and it' won't drag onto the listbox. What do I need to do to get it so that it will display album, artist and track information?

Storing Information To A Listbox Selection?
Dec 21, 2011I am creating a program with multiple Forms designed to track multiple projects.The first form is designed to setup new projects and obtain previous projects, from there the other forms open to be filled in with information.For new projects the next forms open blank but I then need these later forms to be tied to this project name so that it can be selected from a combobox and the information will be already populated.tieing the information on the later forms to the projects populated in the combobox so that it appears when a specific project is selected.Is this able to be done without creating databases?
As an example, say I create a new project then a new form opens and I add some information to a textbox.I would then like to be able to save the information so that the project name moves to the combobox on the first form (I can handle this) and the information input in to the textbox is tied to the project name so that when the program is reopened and the project name is selected the second form opens with the textbox populated.

I was thinking about doing this part in radiobuttons
The application should be able to store at least 10 motor class objects in an array, create an input form in the application that allow users to input new motor records to be added to the array and create another form that displays all the motors in the array in a list box. This is what I got so far, I know its not much, but whats really puzzling me is how am I suppose to show all the data in the listbox in the second form.

How To Do Add Information Info A Listbox From A Previous Form
Apr 26, 2009I have a total of 4 forms, the first three of which have information that is totaled on each of those three forms respectively .I'm trying to figure out the best way to set up a final page where each total amount from the first 3 forms will end up on the 4th form so that the sum of the totals from the first 3 forms will add up, and then so I can add 7% on for taxes on this project.I am using both radio buttons and check boxes for the first three forms (and I'm not certain if this would be an important factor).I had been looking at creating a listbox, but I'm not sure if it would be possibly to get the previous totals to show up correctly there, so I suppose I'm just looking for a way to have the "products" from the first three froms show up in a list along with their prices, and then be able to add on the tax and total them all together.

May 4, 2009I have 3 databases: Subject, Class, and Students. In the Subject database, I have SubjectID and SubjectName and the PK is SubjectID. I have the releationship bound to the Students table where I only have the SubjectID in there. Next in the Class database I have ClassID and ClassName. ClassID is the PK and it's relationship is bound to the Students database where I only have the ClassID in there. Here is what I am having troubles with.I have comboboxes set up on a form to where the user can select which class and which subject the student is good at. What I want to do is to be able to insert those values into the Students table so that the values will make the correct Subject and Class name appear on the students record. I also want to be able to modify said Subject and Class ID, which when you click on the button, brings up another form to edit Student info, such as name, address, phone number, etc.
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I take the comboboxes and display them on the form. For the datasource I use the Class for one and Subject for the other. The display member is Subject name or Class name and the value member is either class ID or Subject ID. When I run the project though, the class name and subject stay the same for all the students. I have sample data in my tables that is different for each student, but it does not work.

Feb 12, 2012I've currently got a service that produces xml files every 10 seconds containing server information. I'm looking for a way to display this on a web page. I have been looking on the web for the best way to do this and it seems that using AJAX would be good as it allows the loading of dynamic content to be done in the background. However how can I use AJAX? Should I add a ASP.NET website to my visual studio project? OR should I look to use javascript & AJAX in something like dreamweaver? I'm very new to programming so i only really have a bit of experience in vb.net.

Jul 7, 2011I currently have an old database that has tables for requests and customers. This information is currently displayed in ASP.NET
What I was required to do, was to connect a new database for users into this system, while keeping the tables for the requests in the old database. Thus it is using 2 databases. I have set it up so, when a user creates a new request, in the request tables it saves it with his userID from the new database, but when the table is being displayed, it uses this new userID to find the user information from the old customers table. Thus I ended up with this:

Currently it displays nothing, and gives out an error for myItem.Value = rdr.GetInt32(0) being a Null. I went through it step by step and it loads customerids normaly into the myItem.Value, but when they run out, it is supposed to exit, but keeps going, thus giving an error.

May 3, 2009I am currently working on a school database that I am having troubles with. I have the Table Adapters, Binding Source, and DataGridView all working, along with the Insert, Update and Delete Commands. I have the user open up the SubjectForm. On this form the user is looking at a DataGridView of the subjects table and everything that is in it. When the user clicks add new on the right side, it opens up a new form called AddNewSubject. When the user gets done adding the new subject in, a dialog box appears and says that the subject was added successfully. After the user clicks exit, it takes them right back to the SubjectForm where the DataGridView is. My question is, how do I update the data in that grid so that after the user clicks exit on the AddSubject Form, the new data will appear in the grid? I have tried a combination of things and they haven't worked. I will add my code at the bottom.[code]....
