I'm designing a very simple photo album program and need to be able to open an image using the system's default photo editor.
I am doing a lab where you have to connect to the database using the Database Configuration Wizard in Visual Basic (Visual Studio 2008). The database connection is there since the form will display the records.The problem is the user is supposed to be able to click on the combobox arrow to select a stock rating (high, low, etc) and then the listbox will display only the stocks with that rating. I thought this would work but nothing is showing up in the listbox.

My question is how to display the Contrycoed in a textbox after selecting the country in a combobox. For example if I select Canada in the combo I would like CND to be displayed in the textbox. I'm curently trying to get information displayed in a listbox from a selection made in a datagridview. For example a user selects an artist from the treeview control and it displays all the albums by that artist in the datagridview. Once a user selects an album all information for that album is displayed below the datagridview in either a listbox or listview control. I've tried dragging the conrols from the datasource and it' won't drag onto the listbox. What do I need to do to get it so that it will display album, artist and track information?

I am still having issues with the combo box. I have the correct query. I have four tables in MS Access. I need to create a form in Visual Basic that has a combo box and a datagrid. The selection from the combo box will display all relevant information about that person on the datagrid. View 1 RepliesI have a form with a listview on it. Listviews are very versatile beasts with all kinds of odd options to them, so I'm not sure if this is working the only way that it can, or not. The issue is that when I select one of the items in the listview, only one column (of two) is highlighted. I'd prefer a selection appearance similar to using a DataGridView where the whole row is highlighted. Of course, one option would be just to switch to a DGV, but that would require a bit more code to get the column widths right. So my question is whether there is some setting to get what looks like full row selection appearance in a multiselect ListView?
View 3 RepliesI'm writing a standalone application in VB.NET using Visual Studio 2005. I want to display/hide a bunch of Buttons based on the selected value of a ComboBox. Each selection would have a different set of Buttons to display, and I'd like to have them arranged in a nice grid.
Driving a TabControl with the ComboBox value would be the kind of behavior I want, but I don't want it to look like a TabControl to the user because it might be confusing.Is there a way to do this?
Basically, I'd like Selection1 of the ComboBox to show Buttons 1-4, Selection2 to show Buttons 5-11, Selection3 to show (maybe) Buttons 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8, etc., have them arranged nicely, and have the GUI show only the ComboBox and the buttons.

I'm trying to take a picture from my webcam when the user clicks a button on a Form on a Windows XP Machine.
I tried going through several threads, but couldn't find the solution I was looking for. Most of the threads involved matters (and code) too complex for my requirements, or had bugs when I reproduced the code in my editor window which I was unable to resolve due to my lack of knowledge in I/O related programming.
So far the simplest solution I could find was this one:[URl]...but after using his solution in my editor, it says 'type WIA is not defined', despite adding a reference to Microsoft Windows Image Acquisition 1.01 Type Library.
