I am trying to setup an SSN Masked TextBox, the mask i selected for the field is 999-99-9999 When the field has no info the mask pattern shows in it, i would like to hide it and display it only upon info entry, meaning the user will enter the first 3 digits and then '-' will appear, will enter 2 more digits and then the second '-' will appear.

I need to write a program that uses constants to establish the base pay, the quota, and the commission rate. The Pay menu item calculates and displays the commission and the total pay for that person. However, if there is no commission, do not display the commission amount (do not display a zero-commission amount).
Write a function procedure to calculate the commission. The function must compare sales to the quota. when the sales are equal to or greater than the quota, calculate the commission by multiplying sales by the commission rate. Format the dollar amounts to two decimal places; do not display a dollar sign.
The summary menu item displays a message box that holds total sales, total commission, and total pay for all salesperson. Display the number with two decimal places and dollar signs.
the Clear menu item clears the name, sales, and pay for the current employee and then resets the focus.
The Color and Font menu items should change the color and font of the information displayed in the total pay text box. Use a message box to display the program name and your name as programmer for the about option on the Help menu.

So the issue is when I push calculate and summary, the total sales comes up, but not the total commission or total pay. Also, the color only changes to blue and that is it. I am not sure how to get the color or the font menu choices to be able to be choosen by the user. Is that possibile?

View 5 RepliesHi, I'm working on a program that reads text entered into a textbox and creates a list of items by separating entries by commas. Everything is working fine, except, because I am using an array to store the items in the list, I have a limited number of entries. This is only a problem because, as it is written currently, each comma counts as an individual entry. Therefore, users can enter ",,," for example, and it would use up 3 places in the array.
I'm looking for a way to check to make sure there is text after the comma before adding an entry. I've attempted to use the .substring command to check the character after, which works until it gets to the last character. Because there is no character after that, it will give an error.

I'm making an application in school where I have to display the values of domestic, international, and total sales of company "Conway Enterprises." Everything seems to be working except it is not displaying the totalCompany sales as a currency. View 3 RepliesI'm working on a project that incorporates an Arduino Duemilanove board and a program that a wrote in VB 2008. Basically, when the Arduino receives a symbol from COM3, it sets a Pin on the board, high or low. I'm using two Pins, one is going to be for a laser, the other a relay. The relay is going to close a circuit, and act as the button on the Nerf Vulcan. That's right, I'm creating a Nerf sentry gun.It's going to be fully controlled from my computer. I have all of the code done for the servo, and all of that, both on the Arduino and in VB.
The Arduino sends the angle of the Servo that will control the right and left movement of the gun through COM3, every time it changes. I want my program to display that position in a textbox, as my program needs that value in order to properly function. I have previously asked a questions regarding DataGridView control:[URL].. now I'm trying to make the first column to include an autosuggestion. ie. when a user types an ID(say, "12") then all the records that starts with it(ie. "12*") will be displayed as suggestion.
And upon clicking an ID, the corresponding product_name will be displayed on the next column. I think, I could do this using Validating() event of DataGridView.
