View 4 RepliesI am writing a blackjack game program in vb.net 2008. The program is designed to play 6 players per game in sequence using a pre existing algorithim (basic strategy). The program will play one game at a time using all 6 players or can be set to play 100 games using all six players and then capture the resulting data generated from each player from every card. When one game at a time is played the program works fine. When the program plays 100 games at a time it drops (loses) the data that is being stored in its string variable arrays.

IntelliSense will generate a little balloon that says 'Public ReadOnly Property Count() I saw the () after Count and thought that meant that was the proper way to code it. So that is what I did. The code seems to work with ...Count() or just ...Count. I was wondering if there is some reason why the parens show up after the description of the Property in IntelliSense.
listbox conrol shows only 65000 items on vista
View 3 Repliesi have simple application which contain one listbox. i am loading item in listbox from one file. around 130000 items in it. when i run this application on xp computer i am able to scroll down all item perfectly from first to end. But when i run this application on vista machine, it only shows 50% of item if i scroll down with that bar on right on listbox. but when i reach end of list (which is item number 65000) and than use "Down arrow " of listbox it move to item n umber 65001 and later and scroll bar move again center of listbox. After i move to record number 65001 and more by clicking down arrow and use scroll bar at center to move further down to end it again shows 65000 item. But in windows xp it shows all item perfectly.

I am really confused! My program doesn't work if I don't have Visual Studio here in my PC. To test it I have uninstalled Visual Studio. But my program doesn't work though Flash Player is present there (I have used Flash animation in the first form).
To be more sure about it I have installed Flash. But it's not working! That means the Flash animation file (.swf) is not making a problem! It needs support from Visual Studio to start. Doesn't it mean that some files are not attached with a setup file as a result it needs Visual Studio to run? Let me tell you how I create a setup file of my program.

My application creates a file by writing to System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory() & "data/" & filename...Now this works fine usually, but I just added a setup utility to the app, so now it installs to the program files directory. It installs correctly and creates the data folder, however when it tries to write the file it gets an exception "unauthorized access".

I just reinstalled vb.net 2008 express edition, I registrate it and tried to add FreeTextBox.dll to the toolbox. I right-clicked in the toolbox, choose items and browse. I found the dll and Choosed it. In the choose items window it shows, it is checked, but when i click OK, it don't shows in the toolbox. I tried with the Ajax Control Toolkit to, but none of the items shows in the toolbox.

Which it will continue to ask for the salesman's name, code, etc. but when the user enters the name "eugene" the program is suppose to calculate and output the total monthly sales and the total commission dollars. Even I have tried to install it there in another pc which has visual studio & it worked well. I am confused. I made a Try-Catch statement so that if the user enters letters into the text boxes, they get an error message. However, if the user leaves one field blank, the error message still pops up. What's the code so that I can get Visual Basic to recognize that an empty field is the same as 0 so that that message doesn't pop up? [Code].
